Damn... I seem to like the 1850 more on many tracks, especially Metal Head! The KEF sounds warmer because of the extended bass and proper lower mids but the Eds sounds more crystal like. Crazy given the tremendous price difference, the LSX is 8 times the price of the 1850 in my country!
You hear it exactly like it is, or at least exactly like it sounds to me on a pair of (good) headphones with a flat reproduction between 28Hz and (at least) 16.5kHz, the upper limit of my hearing. Yes, technically KEFs expand a bit more on the lower range, but at the same time they lack dynamics to even begin to justify price parity, nevermind being so outrageously overpriced.
For bass, edifier sounds punchy but little blurred compared to LSX. Tonal balance LSX wins only a bit. However, price of LSX is 10 times of R1850DB...Edifier wins!
There are differences in sound. But the differences are so small that it takes a few listens to really hear and appreciate those differences. And the differences are not actually worth discussing. So on that basis, Edifier wins hands down….
Can I ask why you are only comparing Edifier speakers with other brands. The reason I'm curious is that it could be the case you are taking a commission from Edifier and that the video audio is being edited in such a way as to make the Edifiers sound better. No offense and obviously I'll love for you to explain this? Thank you.
these the 1850's are peaking my interest for TV speakers with a sub attached......OR.... should I go with the s3000Pro's with no sub as my TV speakers...your thoughts people ? thx...cheers from Canada
For all those bashing kef lsx. If you use the 3.5 mm the music is very bad. But if use spdif the music really opens up. Tidal sounds amazing. Spotify from spdif connection sounds better than when directly streaming. The internal dac is amazing. Steaming sounds closed but spdif really opens it up. Please review with spdif and provided an updated review.
People are complaining about the huge price difference. I think that is completely valid to consider when comparing these speakers. Is the price difference worth the sound quality difference?
@@kevin1889 well I just bought the 1850db for $160 during BF sales and paired it to an old Polk sub and I'm perfectly happy with it. Don't have hundreds to spend on a set of stereo speakers.
Obviously with a crap device connected as a source every speaker sounds trashy... but with a proper audio quality and more importantly a good dac as a source the analog inputs are the best
Everything besides source tracks sounds like mono. Even the source tracks sound more two dimensional than the corresponding original youtube videos. Setup defective?
Indeed, that's one of the (very few) problems in this setup; the microphones seem to be too close together, and simply angling them doesn't seem to represent the way we're hearing. The simplest "fix" that wouldn't need dramatic changes would be simply inserting a foam/cardboard panel between the mikes.

Idk I know the edifiers are like a fraction of the price of the kef but I do like the sound from the kef speakers more depth
I've owned the R1850 for more than a year, still enjoying it now.
This was an eye opener. Was NOT expecting that.
I have r1800bt and s3000 pro .I love edifier .Great sound
Damn! These edifier are doing really well against much more expensive speakers.

1000€ for Kef 😱
Edifire for 100$ (in my country new) the winer ☝
For bass, edifier sounds punchy but little blurred compared to LSX. Tonal balance LSX wins only a bit. However, price of LSX is 10 times of R1850DB...Edifier wins!
Yeah, 8 to 10 times depending on where you are. In thailand its 8 times, in malaysia its 10 times. Lmao!
Edifier sounds more punchy and sharp in metal head, retrowave👍🏻
Edifire sounds punchy while KEF is flat sounding. Edifire real value for money ❤️
For this kind of tests I've done nothing - thank you! :)
I think those KEF speakers are really overpriced...
Edifier for sure.😍
Considering the price, easy win Edifier.
Have you done s3000pro vs lsx?

Merci pour cette vidéo

Entonces un gama mas alta de Edifier como s2000 mk3 estaría sonando como kef ls meta wirelles?
Bring Back Moonshine :)
Yesss! I've been a fan of Katie Melua since ❤️

kef definitely sounds better. however judging the price, edifier wins

Yes worth it. The dynamics and mids and depth is better than it's larger sibling ls 50 wireless 2

Edifier sounds better.
DSaudio ask for kickbacks from Edifier. Not like I find these biased but the videos do a good job of showcasing how well Edifiers hold up

@@BarbuMateescu o.k., but as the source tracks are affected too, there must be an additional factor, maybe in the editing process
All about brand and ego. Get a higher-end Hi-Res model of edifier and it would blow KEF miles away but only cost half of the latter.
David vs Goliath
And David wins again...
edifier r2850.... ???
If I were Kef company manager, I would sue this video
He should sue Edifier for doing better job than they do ;)
Money talks. = EDIFIER. Obviously.
I guess price does make a difference, although the LSX is not 6 times better.
darn, the LSX is so good. Wish it is cheaper.
Kef is lacking highs. Idk what kef that they were doing
Wow disappointed in the Kefs
Kef LSX sounds better of course, at probably twice the price. For the money, Edifier wins hands down.
They're 6x the price.
@@whatthat607Noted, just my guess.
They are 4 times the price. Doubt they sound as good as the price would suggest.
i like more edi
The kef wins but it’s not a good speaker and it’s way overpriced and overhyped.
