That is a really good pedal, transparent when you need it to. almost like overdrive, and as brash as you want it. Good for that Gothenborg death metal sound too, where they use mid gain amp and pummel it with a Boss HM-2.
What I would have liked to see is some Suffocation-type material. Playing tons of drop-tuned, palm-muted power chords will get unbearably flubby on a lot of amps if the bass isn't turned down. The very beginning comes close to addressing this, but ultimately, it doesn't seem like Andy is the target audience for this pedal.
Danish/Norwegian for "I cannot believe what I am hearing"/"Are you kidding??"/"that´s outrageous!" = Pis mig i øret (Da) / Piss meg i øret (No) ( = litterally: Piss/urinate in my ear ) "PisdiYAUwot" sounds a lot like a phonetic transcription (using English "alfabetic sounds") of the danish sentence: ´Pis dig i øret´ - a wordplay on the expression "Pis mig i øret". In English, this would sound like: (pis=)PISS (dig=)DYE (I=)EE (øret=)UOHWOT (last word: "U" like in "FUR"/"HURT" + "OH" like in "OH my darling" + WOT) which is quite similar to PisdiYAU Not sure if this is the true meaning behind the name, but it´s my theory. Anyway: the pedal sounds awesomely offensive!
That may or may not be to avoid a copyright strike against the channel. He played Oblivion by Mastodon (the first song in the video) noticeably slower than recorded.
Just to clarify: I´m danish and I have NEVER in my 53 years of life heard the word pisdiYAUwot. Sound like it´s a slang expression for something that surprises you so you exclaim the word, probably in some obscure local dialect. It is not, I repeat, NOT a danish word. Pedal sound good though,- even for non metal stuff,- might buy it. By the way,- in proper english,- shouldn´t it be Emma ElectronicS and TC ElectronicS ? Reason most likely being that in danish you can use both singular and plural terms about electronics depending on context. O´, well.....
its unbelievable u can make the greatest metal pedal in the world sound like shit... its a good thing i hadn't listened to ur demo b4 i bot the thing...
Ok, this needs to be said. If you are going to put up a demo video for a pedal, and title it METAL distortion, at least get a guy up there that can play metal riffs to showcase this pedal. Blues and fingerpicking are great, but that's not what anyone is here to see. We want to see some tight and crushing RIFFS, and even some nice leads. Not some half-assed finger picked riff. This is ridiculous. How can you use this as a demo video for a METAL PEDAL? Get some people that know what they're doing please.
it always fills me with a special kind of glee to hear Andy playing Mastodon.

\m/ Starting out with Mastodon was THE best way to get my attention and if I wasn't interested in this pedal already I totally am now! Great video.
Seek and destroy! I love how clean it gets when dialed back!
Best metal distortion!
I have this pedal in my pedalboard. It is cool!
4.02 in the video, nailed that Metallica 'Kill 'Em All' tone damn well.
This is the official you WOT m8 distortion pedal
u wOt m8
lol
Get The Lead Out sounded great. I wasn't sold on the metal tones though.

When I hear this I feel like screaming "Nooooo Pomegraaaanaaaates !!!"
I can see the guitar, pedal settings, but what about amp and its settings? :(
That Seek and Destroy tho nice!
Has a little fuzz in there too.
*Fizz
Scary scary metal scary.
Scary scary eyes are scary.
Scary creepy skull is scary.
Untrue bypass eye so scary.

Tone Of The Beast
Well, time to bust out the Crack the Skye album again. Oblivion!

It'd almost be worth it just for the name.
Ah Mastodon!
Oblivion!!!
Hell yeah mastodon!!
Oblivion!
You're making me spend money!!! I already bought the DOD carcosa because you played Electric Wizard with it! Now this?! Common!
What is the first song? Kinda sounds like Wild Eyes by Parkway Drive
Oblivion by Mastodon
Jason Chambers thank you, it's a great song !
has andy ever played any pantera ??
mastodon - oblivion
Mastodon!
is it just me or does Andy seem to be playing Seek and Destroy a bit slower than the original?

I don't think it's slower. Live the song is much faster, and on KEA, the has a ton of reverb. I think he's playing Get the Lead Out slower, though.
Spooky scary skeletons
f yeah!
What's the song on 3:00 ?
Aerosmith - Get the Lead Out off of the album Rocks.
Sounded more like "Piste Yawa" to me.
Hehe same here
Fuck yeah, mastodon
Seek and destroy!!!

En pisdijawert er en pik, Ulf. Det kalder vi det i Jylland når vi skal være poetiske.
As a metal player, I wasn't overly impressed with it. But, that's just my opinion.
Metal finger picking? No. Just no...
Actually, he sounded pretty good! I can do a passing Mastodon cover but this one was great :)
Nice demo, although i don't like those type of pedals at all!
Get the lead out!
Aerosmith for anyone who didn't get that. Track #7 on the 'Rocks' album.
Tight and defined? Lulz
Looks cool. Too flubby sounding.
No pick + poor EQ settings.
sounds tight to me, especially considering it is through a 20 watt Fender!
I'm sure that's the Fender's sound. Check out all the other gain demos and you'll notice the same characteristic sound.
Deftones
so evil andy y u do dis pls repent to jebus saviour andy
its unbelievable u can make the greatest metal pedal in the world sound like shit... its a good thing i hadn't listened to ur demo b4 i bot the thing...
テレキャスでピスジヤすな
Andy's playing was ok here, he needs to play metal with a bit more aggression.
I hate all the drop drop tuning in so called metal now a days !
I'm guessing you didn't know Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath tuned all his strings 3 half steps down.
Kek
Drop c is where its at

Totally agreed!
+FSASxRocker we need scottie who did schecter demos on pro guitar shops
Mastodon is pretty metal bud. This guy rocks even if he isn't metal. He's clearly showing its versatility btw. Stop being a jerk.
He wasn’t being a jerk. He was stating the obvious. By you saying that, makes you look like a jerk. Hope you’ve grown up since. God Bless You.
God that thing sounds awful.
It must be working then.
Not really. I've heard a lot worse, and the Seek and Destroy was pretty spot-on.
This demo sucks. The dude is definitely not into metal and doesn't know how to dial in a good high gain tone.
Oblivion!!!
