Travel tour groups: Pros and cons of organized travel group companies. If it's your first time traveling alone, tour groups or backpacking tours may be a great way to get your feet wet!
Trying to decide whther to go with a tour group vs solo travel?
Here's what you need to know about organized travel and group tours, including the benefits and downsides, as well as five questions to consider when deciding if a travel tour company is right for you:
1. Is it your first time traveling or traveling alone?
2. How do you feel about planning an international trip on your own? Are you excited by the challenge, or is the idea of planning too overwhelming?
3. How comfortable are you making friends and meeting people?
4. How important is it for you to be with people you know versus being able to travel independently?
5. How open are you to visiting a few destinations that aren't on your bucket list?

I have always been an independent traveler. I don't want to be tied down to a set schedule on these escorted tours.
On these escorted tours, you have to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning and have breakfast. If you're checking out of the hotel to go to your next destination, you have to have your bags packed and outside your hotel room for the staff to collect them and then put them on the tour bus.
Even on these European tours that start in London, you have to get up at quarter after four in the morning and they give you a boxed breakfast. Then you leave London at 5:30 and the tour bus takes you over to Dover to catch the hovercraft across the English Channel over to Calais there in France. Then there's another tour bus there that'll take you to your first stop on the European continent.
When I go on vacation, I like to go wherever I want to go and whenever I want to go. I want go see and do what I want to do. If I want to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning, then I'll stay home. I'd rather pay more for an independent tour than less on an escorted than stick to a rigid schedule.
Have some money and too much free time, but no friends, lol, sounds like I have 1 choice here. What’s the best travel company out there?
As an organizer of group tours, I couldn't agree more with your pros and cons of traveling with a group. Thanks for sharing : )
Is it a lucrative industry?
What’s the best way to vet a group tour company?
Planning to do my first travel group trip to Italy but I'm planning to do a small group like 12-16. I couldn't travel with 25-30 people..lol. I'll get annoyed by all of the personalities..😂 I'm not ready to do a solo trip on my own, not even that, planning a trip on my own is just too much work..lol..unless I had someone with me.
Can you please suggest some travel group
Whether it's in Europe, right here in the U.S, Canada, or anywhere else, you only get two nights in the major cities on these escorted tours. That is not enough time to see and do everything. You need at least three nights or more in the major cities, depending on which city you go to.
For example: I have been out to Los Angeles four times. There is so much to see and do out there, you need at least a week or more there.
I also plan to go to Hawaii one day as well. Based on my research, I only plan to stay in Waikiki. There is so much to see and do in Honolulu, and on Oahu, such as the city tour of Honolulu, the Pearl Harbor cruise, the Arizona Memorial, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the circle island tour of Oahu. Plus there's shopping, entertainment, restaurants, and free hula dance shows. Two, three, or four nights in Waikiki is not enough time to really see and do everything that you want to do there.
And when I'm there, I am skipping the traditional luau. I read some of the reviews of these luaus, and it's definitely not for me. They're not only too expensive, but I don't want to sit outside in all types of weather to eat a traditional Hawaiian meal, and then watch a Polynesian dance show right there; especially when it rains. I have a very strong fear of thunderstorms, and I just don't want to be outside when it rains. I would rather eat inside instead. They always say that no trip to Hawaii is complete without going to a luau. But here's one person who won't be going there.
Where do you find these groups
Ghana is welcoming tour groups, and has an open arms policy for everyone! Feel free to come and see for yourself! Groups are especially welcome, so do not worry about travelling alone or with family or friends:)
I saw that in my last trip. We go has a group and then they just simply say you can explore on your own where ever you wish to go and come to the hotel on your own. I wonder why must i follow a group tour. I rather go on my own if that is the case.
what are your recommendations for travel groups? like different companies that you can book with
Pro trick : watch movies at kaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Andres Sergio Yup, been watching on Kaldrostream for years myself :)
@Andres Sergio yea, I have been watching on kaldroStream for since november myself :)
I like to travel solo I sometimes have a fear of people knowing that i'm a solo female and trying to take advantage of that so being with the group lessens that but then I don't want to be on anybody else's schedule that much
Anyone knows some travel companies?
Luxe Tribes
What do you do with all your luggage, or would you say take the bare minimum?
