    Retired airline EVP/Technics - I supervised production of our fleet, and I can state without hesitation, BOTH the A220 and the Embraer are excellent aircraft with exceptional quality and attention to detail throughout. Bravo, gentlemen! If I had the money, and the need, I would still prefer a Boeing 717 if I could get one with low time, or a new A220. Personally, I have always been impressed how Embraer started out with turboprops and over time built their expertise, design knowledge base and reputation. Great going guys!

    I think the Embraer 195 E2 is a terrific airplane. In Canada, Porter airlines gave it a quick nod and it's serving the small airline very well. I think with KLM and Royal Jordanian, there will be other carriers seeking interest in this beauty.

      Embraer lacks cargo capacity. A220 can load cargo in container form plus passengers.

    Technicly the Airbus A220 is bigger than the Embraer, the Airbus A220 has 2 3 seats wide while the Embraer 170-195 has seats 2 2.

      Every A220 is being sold at a loss, Embraer does not give away their products, they want to "make money", I would rather make 1% profit on 10 frames than lose money on 200 frames, period, end of story, prove me wrong!

      @@Marcos5pb A Reuters article " Jet Maker Bombardier used 'Agressive ' pricing to win big Delta order", within the article it is said Bombardier gave up to 75% discount off list prices for successful sales. Just this one tells me everything. Also, similar articles in business section of Chicago Tribune, and even here in U Tube I've seen several comments of this same situation. Of course this is nothing new in the airframe business, Boeing and Douglas did it for years, Boeing will have to do the same for their Max 8 737 baby, the "most popular airplane" also to give away, If I am wrong, I am wrong!

    American Airlines placed an order for 133 Embraer planes this month, at London City Airport. 70% of landings and takeoffs are on Embraer planes, as they are quieter and use less fuel... Embraer saved Ilha Airport of St Helena from being closed, as no plane was able to land on the Island due to the strong winds, only the E-190 managed, and saved the Airport, images from this Platform below.

      You're right, larger airlines are indeed increasingly considering the Embraer as a regional jet option, although there's still a long way to go before it becomes a concern for Boeing and Airbus. It's interesting that you mentioned this video about St. Helena Airport because, precisely in Spain, one of the airlines operating in the Canary Islands (Binter) is strongly backing the E195 for medium-range operations.       ​@@aero261 I thought the subject here is Regional planes, as Embraer's only competitor is the A220, so no worries for Embraer, as it manufactures comfortable regional planes in the 2x2 seat version, while the A220 in the 2X3 version seems like it doesn't carry passengers but rather Gado, as for larger planes, leave these problems to Airbus and Boeing, Airbus has problems with its paintwork, it had problems with its planes in Qatar, and Boeing crashes one 737 Max a year, killing hundreds of people, crashing plane doors, and Embraer producing Regional Jets without investing in larger planes, planes that provide safety to the passenger, even though the plane is completely broken, due to an error by the Air Serbia pilot, it can take off and land without killing a passenger, image below.

      @@aero261 just ask any Pga airlines pilots in Portugal that have flown previously the Fokker 100 . As a former pilot of that airline my self, I have friends there and they are unânime, specially the ones that have flown Fokker 100. As you understand no pilot that work in that airline will say it publicly due to contractual reasons but I assure you the opinion is quite common.
      The main opinion is the extremely noisy cockpit,
      Poor ergonomics and uncomfortable seats for more then one hour flight, hard on turbulence, and poor integration of avionics, specially flying hands on cat 3 with hud. The economics are not that good either at least the old ones.
      the airplane is however quite sturdy in terms of structure and so it is safe, but The skin is also very poor getting damage at any minor debris.
      I my self had flown the Fokker 100, airbus 330 and now airbus 320. I have no experience on the 220, so I can’t comment on that.

      @@aero261 I have heard that e2 195 besides being a beautiful airplane, is comfortable, quiet and the cockpit is very clean. All this opinions head from pilots and especially from passengers where they say of all the 3 companies Embraer makes the most quietly airplanes. you can check videos people flying then on youtube.

    E2-190 better than A220? Not really!
    The A220 is superior to the E2-190 in almost every respect, a plane made of carbon fiber, longer range, more efficient!
    The E-190 was a sales success compared to the E2-190 with very few orders.

      Your data is completely wrong. The A220 is less efficient than the E2 and has major mechanical problems. It is not an Airbus, it is a Bombardier product.

      For some airlines, Embraer may not be a solution and could be an aircraft that is operationally not profitable for them. TAP Express is a large airline that travels to many destinations and in some cases, when using a small aircraft at an airport with very few available slots, if there is high demand, aircraft like the Embraer may fall short and you may prefer to opt for superior models like the A220.     Penso que a Embraer não está "matando" o A220, ao menos não ainda, e talvez isso nunca aconteça, simplesmente, porque a Embraer, não está competindo com a Bombardier, lançadora original desse projeto, mais sim com a Airbus, empresa pertencente a um grupo de países muito influentes, política e, principalmente, economicamente, onde ofertas super agressivas e pressão econômica são uma constante, nas tratativas por futuras vendas.
    É contra isso que compete a Embraer, às vezes ganhando outras perdendo, porém mantendo-se firme na busca por novos mercados.

      That's a good reflection you're making. Indeed, there are European countries with vested interests in maintaining Airbus sales since it's a source of employment for many European citizens.       The A220 does not even have synthetic vision. Once again, the 220 has major problems and you see airlines dumping their entire 220 fleet. Porter dumped the 220 and picked up the E2 in example.

    The ERJ E2 will never be a reginal aircraft for major in the US. It doesn't meet the scope clause due to it weight.

      Embraer's difficulty is that Airbus' aircraft have a very high degree of cockpit and systems commonality, so pilots that start flying a smaller Airbus, can convert to a larger one very much more quickly than they could if they started flying an Embraer. The product is very good, but until Embraer has an A350 equivalent, they are not going to be able to compete with Airbus, or outperform Boeing.

      This is true. Airbus's strategy of maintaining a similar cabin configuration is a significant competitive advantage they have over other manufacturers. After all, this aircraft is competing for a slice of the pie where low-cost airlines are looking for a quick, economical, and reliable solution to expand their routes. However, it would indeed be interesting to hear the perspective of a pilot.

    Os E-2 para o mim é melhor que os B-737 e A-320, pois näo tem os acentos do meio. Aqui no Brasil via Azul já fui pax nos E190 e no E195 excelentes. Concorrência depende de alcance nas rotas.

    I don't know if this has already become a standard, but I saw that several smaller Airlines that work with Embraer planes, opt to purchase dozens of units to operate with more flight plans compensating for the number of smaller seats per aircraft.
    Apart from the fact that Airbus and Boeing have their assembly lines working at their limit due to the excessive number of orders. This is even causing logistical problems due to the shortage of aviation parts.
    The ripple effect is that Airlines are suffering losses due to delays in deliveries, and others are betting on used planes to meet their demand. Which is also causing problems due to maintenance of these aircraft.
    And there is still Europe and other countries imposing tougher restrictions involving noise and emissions.

      Boeing does not produce Regional Airplanes, and is experiencing problems, the Embraer's seats are in a 2X2 configuration and the A220's are 2X3, without the comfort of the Embraer's, the A220's seem to be carrying cattle, with the compensation of the Embraer's planes being quieter. , use 25% less Fuel, and emit less CO2.

      @x-gamessimulator1067 I don't know the smallest technicals details, apart from the largest number of seats. Embraer's largest plane is the E-195 E2, which has a maximum of 146 seats in 2X2 disposition. The Airbus A220-300 takes 160 seats in 2X3 disposition.
      I've seen people saying that this Airbus model is very cramped in economy class.

    Why some shrug it as a pesky bug gets under my skin! I've flown on the E1 Azul linhas aerias. Porter seen what nobody else wants to look at. The E2 195 is technically superior to the almost 60 yr. old 737 of which super glue isn't doing the trick anymore❗

    Another A.I. video and a terrible one, to be sure. The script is grammatically unworkable and the content inaccurate, generic, awkward. The narration feels stilted, like a robocall. Time for UA-cam to block these or put in disclaimer. This one is an utter waste of time.

    The Embraer "E family" have over 1700 deliveries worldwide, while de A220 have 300 something, but who cares?!?? Let the Airbus fanboys vomit their "opinion"!

      The E-Family was launched in 1997 and the A220 11 years later in 2008. Comparing deliveries thus makes little sense

      Maybe your product is two times better than mine, but if I'm selling three times yours, I'm kinda "destroying your plans"!
      1700 deliveries in 27 years, equals 63 deliveries per year!
      300 deliveries in 16 years, equals 19 deliveries per year!
      Come back in 2025 and maybe we can talk again! ;)

      Well they are a small company, I believe they are doing their best to compite, this days almost all the company has problems (to be honest 😂).
      Let’s see in the future what happens, meanwhile I really enjoy seem them pass at the airport

      They've proven to be quite reliable aircraft, and as a company, they have years of experience in developing both private and military planes.
