The HJC IS-Max 2 modular helmet provides all the basic features a rider might want in a flip-up style lid, at an affordable price.
It's constructed from an advanced polycarbonate shell, and it's flip-up chin bar operates by way of a large button just beneath the chin. It locks into place well, both open and closed.
There's also an internal drop down sun shield, with the raising and lowering mechanism located on the top of the helmet. To retract the shield fully, simply press the button on the top.
You also get a moisture wicking, anti-bacterial liner inside, cutouts for communicator speakers and eye glasses. Ventilation layout is standard too, with intakes on the chin and crown and exhaust vents out back.

Great helmet. I have a Schuberth E1 and I like this helmet enough that the E1 doesn't see much use in road riding situations. The IS-Max 2 is just a super every day helmet. The shell material makes donning the helmet easy and it is a light/comfortable lid. Love these helmets.
I've been using this helmet for 3 season now and I am very satisfied. Better than the previous IS-Max that gave me trouble in two different helmets I had bought.

Any worry about water egress from the sun shield switch on top?
@@admiralbeez8143 I live in coastal Nor-Cal and I haven't had any issue but I tend to be moving when the helmet is on so most of the water is probably being directed to the rear of the helmet and away.
Just picked one of these up (June 2021) and I love it. I ride a cruiser and my previous HJC helmet started to lift at 70+ mph, the IS-Max 2 doesn't, it stays planted. It is surprisingly quiet and the controls are easy to use even with thick gloves on.
Just ordered this exact helmet, went for a modular for a change had the IS 17 in white.
I bought one a few weeks ago. I didnt think I'd like the modular but it's a great helmet. A little loud at highway speeds but other than that I love it. I got a fat head so having a XXXL option was great
I have this helmet and it's great. I have a rather large head and wear a size 2XL or larger in nearly all brands. At $200, it's very good quality.
I have this too and love it. got it on sale they said it was clearance. 140$.
