Tbf this was a weird course this year because of the bridge closure. I missed running past Maxwell Park and through Bellahouston Park too. Hopeful the bridge will be completed on time for the usual route.
I'd like it to see them do a bit of the west end but I'm guessing that too many folk would complain about road closures. My brother suggest a route here twinbikerun.com/2023/10/12/the-great-scottish-run-2023-race-report-andrew/
@twinbikerun Oh, let them complain. People live for a good moan. It's one morning/afternoon a year. I think that looks interesting! I remember it used to start and finish at Glasgow Green, which was great for spectators, but I guess maybe more difficult logistically.
@@oneofusisboard I first did the race in the early 2000s and I think it started on the high street. At the end everyone got given a loaf of bread as the race was sponsored by mothers pride. I had to get the glasgow herald the next day to find out my time as they didn't have electronic timing.
@twinbikerun I remember the newspaper days! They did a full marathon one time too. My favourite sponsor was Juicy Fruit because spectatora all got an inflatable bag, a beach towel and tons of gum. I used to do the Junior Run (when it was 3k), so I think that's where I'm mixed up. That was definitely a start and end at Glasgow Green. The finishing back this year wasn't great for snacks. One bar, not even a banana :/
The course misses out all the nice bits of Glasgow. I think the organisers pick the best route to avoid traffic issues rather than a scenic one for runners.
I saw you guys on Paisley Rd West, when you were on your way back and I was still plodding towards the halfway point, but I spotted you too late to wave.
Nice wee video... I did the 10k.... Ive done the half b4 and I definetley didn't like the look of that route you did.. 😭....you let Barbie & Ken beat you... 😂😂😂Well done... 👍🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️x
What kind of camera is that you use? I've never seen anyone get them angles, and it doesn't look like you're holding anything?!!! This is playing with my mind!
its an insta360 camera. It takes a 360 image and automatically removes the pole its attached to. its great for running videos as it looks like I have a camera floating near me :) store.insta360.com/product/x4
Thanks for making this. Helpful for my first time HM.
Thank you for this video. I am running this in October.
good luck!

Without my glasses on I can see barely a thing :)
Doing this in a few weeks. Nerves are kicking in
Good luck! I'm doing it again but i haven't trained much. I think ill be slower this year.
@@twinbikerun You're slow will probably be my fast.
Me too. Not done it some 2015, belt like I had to accomplish something before I’m 55 - 4 days after it!!
@@JohnM... me too, but about 3 weeks after the event
@@murielh766 good luck!!🤣

Well done! It was not the most scenic of routes but it was a fun day out :)
