The tape was recorded in 1988 (judging by the car commercial), but the show itself looks like it was made in the 70s. This is the real thing right here. Thanks for putting the whole video up for us.s
That car commercial was filmed in mid-1987 - you can see the old style pickups and ElCaminos on the lot. The Corsica was brought out in early '87 as an '88 model.
Super! C'est si emotionnant d'ecouter cette musique d'antan. Super! It's so emotional to listen to this old time music. Super! È così emozionante ascoltare questa musica del passato. Salut de l'Italie... Greetings from Italy... Saluti dall' Italia
@@travismatte A lot of people liked him! My dad use to talk about how the dance floor was packed in the 50's and 60's when he and my mom went dancing to Aldus Roger, Johnny Allen and Cookie and The Cupcakes. Aldus and his band played Country and Cajun music. He said those were good times back then!
@@travismatte Actually, when I scrolled down, I read that it was filmed in 1988. I'd love to step back in time and meet and talk with those wonderful folks of those times. They remind me so much of my beloved and departed relatives in Canada. I am glad that in Louisiana that there are great efforts to keep the language and culture alive.
It’s confusing as most of these were recorded in early 80’s but they played throughout the 80’s so some of the commercials are later on after the actual recording.
New Orleans does have places that feature Cajun and Zydeco music, but Lafayette and the Acadiana heartland parishes are the best places to hear home grown Cajun music.
@Brett Koeshall- You have to get away from New Orleans if you want to hear authentic Cajun Country Music and food. The Western Parishes in Louisiana across the Mississippi River, and South and SW Louisiana. New Orleans is only a small part of it, and they stress most of the Creole stuff, and we aren't like that
Loved em then, love em still, even more, they helped us born our Cajun music that is still stronger to this time! ❤❤❤

Lou Lou !!!!!!!!!!!!! Cot Pot, Bro :)
That's a fast song
Talk about grew up in the wrong time!
When it comes to stage presence, Aldus is the exact opposite of Doug Kershaw
😅 But boy could he play!!!
Long live the king !
Is that Dewey Balfa of Les freres Balfa playing fiddle? Ca doit etre Dewey Balfa qui joue du violon dans la bande..ai -,je raison?
Louis Foreman au violon
Notice that actual French speaking Cajuns pronounced it Lafayette, instead of “Laffy-ette”, as we do today.
Louis "long" Foreman :)
😂
What’s the the song at 24:00
Just like the music that you hear in New Orleans.
