"Silvera" from Gojira's "Magma" album (2016).
The first song that you guys votes for with the new community tab poll feature! I feel like we'll have another Gojira poll pretty soon so don't worry about the songs that didn't win.
Anyway, Silvera is the first Gojira song that doesn't have an insanely fast riff in it. The main riff is definitely the most challenging riff of the song. I don't know about you guys, but I feel like these songs are easier with a smaller pick. I might've already mentioned that in another Gojira video, but I've used the Petrucci Jazz III pick for every Gojira cover so far.

If you've ever seen Gojira live they have the bass so loud in the mix it makes filling fall out. Never heard a band that heavy on the bass live. It was awesome.

Gojiras live performances are so solid that are scary solid. So close to studio quality. Sometimes even better ! I had the opportunity to hear em once and i was speechless. Aside their awesome musicality ideas, lyrics, epic drums etc the quality they produce live is something out of this world.

I saw them at knotfest in indianola last year. Literally perfect. Was my first time really hearing them or seeing them. It takes A LOT of time to sound that way on stage
Hard to believe they play in D standerd tuning. Sounds so much heavier.
The Warwick sounds killer. Always been my favorite bass. Anyway, great cover! I'm going to cover this song too. Already finished tracking the guitar and tomorrow bass. Can't wait to finish it.

Thanks! I honestly can't remember the settings anymore since it has been months since this one came out.. I use a Ampeg SVT-VR amp plug-in so it already sounds pretty good on its own.

Thank you! It's hard for me to tell what's not working for you during that riff. Try playing it slowly or slowing down the video. That usually helps.
