I kinda wish this game had kept in the faction bonus from the first game. After so many victories (or for an insane amount of credits) you could either take over a planet instantly (Republic and Rebels) or wipe it off the map (CIS and Empire). Mainly I’d just love to be able to unleash the Death Star on Felucia for all the suffering the 501st went through on that alien hellhole.
But First He Lit it on Fire but my guy, what about when you boarded an enemy ship with the gunship? You can spawn on the ship as Marines and go to town on the pilots and interior. What I would always do with my brother when we payed split-screen.
TheRookieGamer 246 No, because since buying the class forces other troops to change to it, then my factions overall performance declines as half of the fighters can’t repair themselves anymore. It’s WAY worse if I get into a space battle with sabotage used against me. If I don’t run sabotage myself, then I usually run supplies so I have enough to blow up most of the ships innards in 1 go. And since the enemy DOES tend to buy marines, but never boards on it’s own, then space battles turn to my favor, as half the enemy ships are easier to put down, and my own sabotage becomes that much worse. I consider the performance in the ai troops when planing the classes I get for galactic conquest. I always use the first 1000 credits for engineers for example.
This is deadass what plays in my head when I’m lookin at all the work I need to do for college, and I’m trying to strategically think of how to accomplish it all.
That final victory on felucia was a really tight one, just me, a lowly magnaguard against an unknown clone trooper, the final two left on the battlefield, no health droids left, both of us capable of being destroyed with one blaster shot, both rapidly trying to find where the other one was based on what color the command posts were turning, then we finally cross each other, he takes three shots and misses, I take two shots and miss, I have no ammo left in my radiation launcher or bulldog gun, things are getting tense but just as he starts to reload; I sprint towards him and unleash a dose of Neuro-Poison, he turns green, he finishes reloading, he's just about to fire when suddenly he gasps for air and I see "Victory" with a blaster bolt just inches away from touching my face.
When I first got word that dice was remaking battlefront back in 2014, I was excited to see what they would do in terms of galactic conquest. Boy was I wrong.

Same. I dont want to write something cringe or autistic but, this theme is really evocative of war (the marching rythm) and it reminds life is a costant war and planification with no free time, always day after day of war like a soldier. Against your limitations, against fate, against people who pose you limitations, against straight up enemies and hostile people, against hostile situations. I feel like a soldier costantly employed in a war of conquest and this march motivates me. I have no longer the expectation of peace and have accepted the dark reality of costant war. And in this you have to have a discipline and use wisely your time which is your only ally together with optimism+problem solving+elasticity/intuition combo. Which again means that life is a war so better prepare and renounce to the idea of peace. You are a soldier employed on a mission, you are alone, against the evil/opposing will of others. Planning, calmness and self control is essential. Using every type of weapon from psychological to omissions/lying. Si vis pacem, para bellum, the latins used to say. And it is still true. Life is game. Then play! Staying in limbos has no sense. Even in personal relations there is no trust or honesty. There is not a "safe zone", safe from conflict I mean. This world is filthy. Everyone is on his own. That is where you have to use your best aces and wage the best long term war/planning you can. (I could have mistakenly confused employed with deployed and viceversa lol im italian)
No matter what's going on in the world, no matter what year we're in, people have been coming to this video for years to share their appreciation and memories of this theme and this game. I didn't have much growing up, friends went as fast as they came into my life, we were living paycheck to paycheck, constantly moving just to be able to afford a home to live in. But the few constant things I did have were family, films/tv and games. BF2 was one of those games. The choice for so many Lucasfilm SW games to just use the music from the films was a perfect decision. It links the two mediums together in a way that could only have been done by music. This sounds cheesy and like something Phil Spencer would say at an Xbox show, but the games from this era really did make a little baby dino feel like he was living his Star Wars fantasy. It felt so cool to *live* these films, and explore the universe even deeper than the films went. Even better was sharing these memories with my brothers, who were always there no matter what in those days. That's what this theme reminds me of. Also the amazing quotes that this comments section is filled with. I'm creating new memories with SW now even as an adult, rewatching the whole series---films and shows---with some friends I made online last year. They say you can never get your childhood back, but I like to think-no I KNOW I'm making my childhood self happy by continuing to do what I love, in spite of what the world is throwing at me. That's how I grew up after all.
