Those armors are so beautiful
Love German Gothic armor!
I am not a fan of most English harnesses, but the one in the first clip is just chef's kiss
true men of culture.
Danket dem Algorithmus! 🙌
Very cool and the sportsmanship is always good to see, especially in sports involving bashing eachother in the face with sticks
I'd love to get a harness like them eventually, beautiful armor
Steel pollaxes y’all are tough
Beautiful harnesses
Beautiful armors, to be as cheap as possible I was only able to build a Kusnacht, curaiss really opens options as far as helms.
Boa noite! O bonito e o sinal da cruz deles para iniciar a batalha, ou seja, esporte! Rsrsrsrs
VERY cool! Love the chivalry.
I think this is one of, if not the one, my favorite videos of poleaxe
German Gothic armor is the most badass looking medieval armor ever!
that english harness is :chefs-kiss:
Great armour & a pretty good display, but if you are wielding a Lucerne hammer/halberd why would you be punching your opponent wearing a full-face helmet in the face?
If you are that close, yes. (He is wearing metal gloves, so obv the punch is different than the normal punch)
Polearms become a little unwieldy when extremely close to an opponent
When he toured his axe and hit his opponent's head his opponent let go with one hand and lost some control of their axe. The guy who delivered that first hit tried to tour again but his opponent's head was out of range and with the free hand the opponent was able to control his axe, so he began to punch instead
I own a full replica suit of German gothic armor and four salets like in this video and need to add the information that when you have that suit on, you are a weapon. Hitting someone with a fist in a gauntlet or with the arms on the suit can be devastating to someone unarmored. My theory is that when in a sparring fight, you only have a minute's worth of energy, a few minutes if you are a full-time athlete like trained knights were. Knights most likely didn't fight against each other in war because it would be useless to waste their energy striking their weapons on each other's armored areas. The knights most likely went after lesser/unarmored enemies as many could not afford it. Many Medieval battle skeletons have been found with warhammer-shaped holes at the back of skulls, most likely from retreating unarmored soldiers.
@@sirpuffball6366 Yes and no - If you are that close, you should use the poleaxe to aid you in grappling - Grappling them down and delivering a quick thrust whilst they're on the floor is the best option when both are close to each other. However, punching is also a decent option in such a chaotic scenario.
Gothic armor 🖤🤙
What is on the pauldron of the man in English style harness at the beginning? Is that just a reinforcement or some kind of mechanism for a shield?
Der wahre Feind ist das Sichtfeld 🙈
Schöne darstellung 🙂👍
Who is this marvelous fighter?
Sehr ehrenvoll :) So soll es sein
Sehr schöne Kämpfe :D
Kann mir jemand verraten woher ihr eure Rüstungen habt?
Sehr schön
the best
POV: u‘re living in this City 😂😂
"And THAT"S how I met your Mother!"
Why don't they try to create distance from the opponent?
No reason too, weapons are useless against armor you have to get close and get in the gaps or overpower them hand to hand
@@GreatOldOne999 controlling distance is controlling your opponents ability to hit you and your ability to hit and defend. Being able to control when you both create and close distance and an invaluable skill
@@kaiceecrane3884 who cares, at a distance you aren't gonna hurt an armored opponent and he isn't gonna hurt you, so you both wanna be in grappling range.
@@GreatOldOne999 exactly, at distance they can't hurt you. That's exactly why you want to be able to control the distance, you control their ability to hurt you. Your safety comes first, and while this is a competition the manuals these techniques come from are from the context of war, where not dying comes first, your safety comes first. You want you be able to control their ability to hurt you while being able to hurt them, and range is a Huge factor in that. Do you not have any experience in martial arts or combat sports what so ever?
@@kaiceecrane3884 I do, and closing range is literally the only thing that allows you yo hurt the opponent. If you just stay at range you stall the fight. Real life you want to seize initiave and be aggressive, overpower the opponent and win in less time as possible
bruh those are real poleaxes! they could kill eachother with a good swing 0.o

Wow
die rüstungen sind echt fett.
Keine Streithämmer! Eher Helbebarden!
Halberds are usually a lot longer (circa 2.5 or 3 meters I think) and they have a different weapon head shape and construction. They are kinda similar but these are definitely pollaxes.
the chivalry 😂
Good
Tomou Dois Socos Kkk 🏴☠️⚡🏴☠️

Ahh, the medieval times, when a sword is so long you hold it like a spear
They do it because you aim with the point of the sword to a gap in the armor. That technic is called half swording. If they where'nt in full Plate armor they'd only do it seldomely for grappeling technics or trying to disarm the enemy.
You can't slash through plate, so you must half-sword to stab at the exposed parts in the armour.
Luta de robores 🤣😂🤖
Pony tails.........aarrrgggghhhhh!
