Basically, Raphael took over Rimuru's body while he was asleep. Raphael is one of the most powerful Ultimate Skills and basically has her own separate mind. Raphael is like a second brain for Rimuru. But Raphael happens to posses an extremely high level of intelligence and the ability to perfectly calculate magic and much of the world itself. When you get right down to it, Great Sage was a pretty hax ability, but after evolution to Raphael, Rimuru has the most hax ability of them all. Beelzebub is just the evolution of Gluttony. Basically it has all the same abilities as before, just even better and more powerful. Plus a few extra abilities.
SPOILER the fact that Raphael and Beelzebuth is the exact pair between Virtue and Sin skill (volume 18 if i'm not wrong) that should explain how these 2 skills paired so well with each other in Rimuru and his journey
Extra bonus info, Great Sage made the request out of concern it would no longer be useful to Rimuru after his ascension to demon lord, so while Raphael is truly it's own being parallel to Rimuru, Great Sage wasn't just a dictionary of solutions.
Rimuru is always light, bubbly and genuinely just enjoying his second life. He actually remained composed despite all of the damage until he saw Shion's body. The old man had it right. This was such an amazing episode! We get an even more op Rimuru along with everyone else evolving too. This story is just to good. We got them back!!!!
let me break down what makes Diablo's feat of redirecting Nuclear Magic with his breath so insane. for one, he knew that one of Clayman's minons was there and aim above them, instead of just dispelling it. but on to the wild crack head explanation. in Slime, magic is a particle (magicule), and for example, a magical fire doesn't need oxygen, only magicules. nuclear magic is a school of magic that interferes with the fundamental physical forces and fundamental magical forces to quite destructive effect. What Razen used, while the most elementary and common Nuclear spell, still normally requires dozens of people and long incantations, but he can just not bother with all that shit and it was still meaningless. He thought he just misfired because he didn't realize who Diablo was yet, but when he figured it out and got hit with the, as CJ Da Champ puts it, lightskin stare, he realized what Diablo did to his Nuclear Cannon, who he's been fighting, and passes out from sheer terror. this is one of my favorite fights that anime onlies have seen so far.
our baby slime boi is now a True Demon Lord, with broken skills up the wazoo, TWO ULTIMATE SKILLS, one of which is literally a separate entity that can do infinite perfectly accurate calculations on any subject, hundreds of thousands of subordinates, one of which is A GOD'S-DAMNED PRIMORDIAL DEMON, and more Rimuru is no longer a little guy. he's a fucking PROBLEM
Well Great Sage only adapted the Voice from the Words of the World to communicate with Rimuru because he felt so lonely in the cave at the start of the series (he was in there for weeks if not months blind and deaf)
The anime never really goes into detail about these things and sometimes causes confusion among the viewers. A unique skill is typically unique to the individual who acquires it and is typically unobtainable to anyone else by normal means, unlike standard magic. A Unique skill is essentially a gift from God in a sense. Rimuru has Great Sage which is essentially a hack to be able to communicate freely with "words of the world" at his choosing, gaining insight and knowledge about the world itself. Anyone can receive gifts or hear from "Words of the World" but it is an extremely rare scenario for the average person. An Ultimate skill, as the name implies, is the ultimate version of a Unique Skill or numerous Unique Skills. An Ultimate Skill can only be countered by another Ultimate skill. At the end of this episode, Rimuru gains 2 Ultimate Skills. Beelzebub and Raphael. Beelzebub was required to manipulate and consume mana / souls to carry out the resurrection. Raphael was required to not only be able to fully analyze and use Beelzebub to its fullest potential, but also to have the intellect and knowledge to accurately make it happen. The best way I can describe it is taking an equation that would take an average expert roughly an hour to solve, but it needs to be done and calculated within a fraction of a second with flawless accuracy. This is the role Raphael fulfills when resurrecting the dead, and Beelzebub is the tool being used to do it. Due to the complexity of what Rimuru was attempting, he gained two Ultimate Skills that are extremely versatile.
I was curious if this scene was censored in the anime and a bit like that. In the manga you can't see it that well, but in the LN you can clearly see broken pieces of armor and drops of blood in the air (or it's megido droplets stained with blood).

@@thecomicalraptor ye im someone that ready the novel basically all the way through so for me i noticed it right away but a lot of people never realised even after it saying notice
That's LITERALY THE POINT, because in the LNs Great Sage RIPPED THE SOUND FILES FROM THE VOICE OF THE WORLD, so OF FUCKING COURSE THEY SOUND THE SAME.... that's literally why Rimuru was stuck in solitude for 2 months before GS spoke first time, as it took it 2 months to rip the Voice of the World sound files for its own local usage (it deemed that Rimuru would be sussy af if GS just beamed the raw data into his mind directly (this would be the normal usage of the default base Unique Skill that became the Great Sage to accomodate Rimuru's reincarnation starter wishes). And only brainlets wouldn't notice the difference, since Raphael's voice clearly starts to separate from the Voice of the World's voice the moment it evolves into an Ultimate Skill, especially since Great Sage literally petitions to the Voice of the World to evolve into an Ultimate Skill (the base skill name being Wise One, which got renamed because of the specific words Rimuru used for the reincarnation starter wishes being triggered by the meme "Great Sage" thing)
Which is odd. It was made perfectly clear. She even said, notice like she always did. We learn the red eye from last season. I feel like if they explained it, people would dislike the hand holding
Fun fact: Degenerate isn't gone it's now a sub-skill under the ultimate skill Raphael and Merciless isn't gone, it's just now a sub-skill of the ultimate skill Uriel. Technically making him a Dragon seed, kinda like how he became a demon lord seed after devouring The Orc Lord]
Just so it's clear to those who might be confused still, The Words of the World is like the Internet and all of the information and resources that lies on it, whereas Rimuru's Great Sage is more akin to Google and all of the functions it encompasses: Search, Chrome, Google Assistant, etc. The reason why their voices sound so similar is something that will likely become clearer in the later seasons, assuming that the producers don't gloss over the explanation too much.
