Bones Jackson they gotta keep it interesting and close so everyone can enjoy the game and not have people getting blowed out. you got the td so what the hell. this generation is the most spoiled bitchiest complaining generation ever.
Terrell owens No, they never take the time to properly code the CPU AI because they have to release a new game every year, on top of a whole new game engine this year, and a bagillion bug tests and QA tests. That, and having an exclusive deal to make American Football games, cause the game to be less than realistic. It's a problem that does need to be addressed. "This generation" isn't spoiled; this generation just doesn't have games in a low quality state anymore to where we expect better, because now it IS possible to do this right.
@@MdVaDc And you're contradicting yourself...If they're doing it so everyone can enjoy themselves, why the hell isn't everyone enjoying themselves?? Lol
@@doubleemcastillano464 you ask why isn't everyone enjoying themselves? Unanswered that already. But ill help you out again. Your generation is a bunch of entitled brats who bitch and complain about everything.
Dollar Junior fuck them then they bout to loose a lot of money and fans then when that bum ass contract up it’s over for madden so yea they don’t have to care
Alton Rodgers they will extend the contract. Madden makes way to much money and there are no other football games near madden at the moment and until there is one madden will continue to not give a single fuck
EA Legal team There is no football game near madden because ea has the exclusive NFL license and rights which cripples all competition since the competitors wouldn't be able to use real teams, players, likenesses, and names. There is no real competition because of that and that alone. So idk what point you are trying to make but you'd be well served at least taking note of that. Because believe me, if 2K had the access ea had with the NFL, Madden would have folded years ago. The people at EA do not know how to make a quality sports game.
All of this is horrifically scripted. The AI should be attacking the ball carrier, which isn't done. The safety is out of position during the play which allows LT to not get boxed in like you'd see in every game just about. And then, there's the dt that weighs...100lbs more? And there's a definite strength discrepancy between a 210lb elusive back and a defensive lineman. Here's the thing though, as long as idiot kids buy the game, it will never change.
Ps2/xbox NCAA games did this great if you played a cupcake you dominated if you play a powerhouse you had to be on your A game...impact players were kinda OP but you always had to respect them or pay the price
It happens because the players dont propel themselves with their feet...their foot speed is irrelevant, because the game logic is that once the game has set their trajectory and decided that theyre in pursuit, from there everyone running downfield is basically just being pulled forward on a string and they start gliding down the field...their foot movement is just a distraction to get you to believe they are moving, but in reality theyre just stuck in a forward run cycle animation with no realistic basis for moving forward...so actual player speed is irrelevant because EA can just determine how fast they want each player to be pulled forward on their string, while performing thier run cycle animation
I think its because you lost speed as you did this zigzag move and collided with the safety. After that you had to gain your speed back. The defensive players were able to sprint the whole way so they caught up to you. This is really the only way i could explain this... Good vid!
Isn`t that in connection to the "Player Speed Parity" scale slider ? I always understood that it brings players closer together, speed wise (correct if wrong) I guess it is on the standard value 50 when you play online, I always use 25 offline,
I'm just speculating, but in real life situations a player running with the football doesn't run at full speed or as fast as they would without it most of the time. I know in high school this same kind of play happened and I chased down and tackled a guy at the 2 yard line and i ran a 4.8 40 and the kid i tackled ran a 4.5 40 (And incase anyone says how do you know this...i know this because he went on to play college football at a D1 school and was really one of the only players near my hometown that did so there was a lot of scouting done on him.) I understand that this is real life with adrenaline and what have you, but on paper I should have never caught the guy 80 yards down field. And the same could be said about other players on my own team that i knew were faster than I was. Also, the speed differential between the players you described wasn't that great. If Ladanian Tomlinson was replaced with John Ross, then you could make an argument, but the space you created by the end of the play is pretty legitimate considering the stats of the players. Not to flame you or devalue my prior statements, but I feel like any other sensible person would watch this replay and have no problems with it and see that there's nothing wrong here, nor anything to complain about.
There are settings in game, where you can make the faster player faster than the slower players. Set "speed threshold" to 0, and you won't be caught by slower players Like so others can see
there should probably be two separate ratings: stamina and (maybe) endurance. One would represent how long a player can run at full-motor (basically, it's single-play stamina); and the other would represent how long before long-term fatigue sets in (game-long stamina).
Tbh, they ran at a realistic pace. Speed=mass x acceleration. Height also raises the ceiling for your speed. Now, did Madden have this in mind? Probably not
And the players mentioned in this video took a bad angle in terms of getting the tackle, but a better angle than the rest of their teammates. They were never "catching" you. It just looked like that because of the angle
I dont have an issue with pace, I have an issue that 2 defenders of vastly different size, speed and stamina seemed to pace each other so even. Secondarily, using a similar player as a reference point (in Tomlinson) its clear that despite running a larger distance, they out paced him.
There will be NO changes to Madden until we make them change. How do we make them change???? Stop buying their shit, we let them get away with putting out crap every year for way too long..... #wewant2kfootballback
It’s called pursuit they’re coming from an angle untouched by any player. Football 101 for defense go where the ball is going to be not where it’s at. That’s why it didn’t seem like you burned them. At your 35 you lost stamina & speed so that gave them the upper hand but once you regained speed & used that acceleration it was done. If you played football you’d know the only bad thing about this play was the downfield blockers not blocking
Wow! That was terrible! If ratings dont mean anything, then why play the game or buy mut cards! EA YOU HAVE TO MAKE RATING MEAN SOMETHING!!! Good vid Ryan! I hope you do more of these!
The real travesty is that the cameraman on the sideline won’t get their shots of the ball carrier scoring because they never pivoted towards the progression of the run.
Bro u know there's no answer for this, the best one is that a few yrs back EA got in trouble for essentially "rubber banding" AI, essentially they call it "tailoring the game to the individual player" adjusting sliders. So the games they WANT you to win, are in arcade mode. FAR too easy for good players. Then you get competitive, it's ok, relatively. But my god, "simulation" is the worst experience in any sports game I've ever experienced and I've played since minimum of madden 2004 I can't remember back further than that game...but they've RUINED the fun of madden. basically call these "glitches" and "sliders" that get changed on the fly, the new way that madden cheats rather than programming any sophisticated AI. Bc it's expensive...and they only make billions a year. EA is the worst company in America and there's been awards given to them that say as much. But that's the American dream really...get rich and do literally as little as u possibly can, and help no one other than yourself and maybe...MAYBE your kids.
You gotta look into the while Tiger Woods Golf rubber banding they did! Essentially in an effort to rubber band the user to lose, they created situations where the CPU would actually get a lower score than mathematically possible.
I think speed is speed in the game. What I mean is weight doesn’t affect a persons stats, if they have 99 speed the game doesn’t care if he’s 6’6 290lb he’s gonna run like he has 99 speed. And the difference in speed is only 4 points, which gave Tomlinson the edge in that foot race, plus the fact that his stamina is bad helped you too
The computer players don't get tired. Users do. I believe they also get somewhat of a boost. So if it was a user clicked on Bruce Irvin he would've been further behind the back in the chase. The game allows the computer to have many advantages. I DELETED IT lol. Got tired of scripts and bugs in gameplay. Keep doing your thing man. Love the channel.
So would you say Benjamin Watson is faster than Champ Bailey? He ran him down years ago. Running with the ball in your arm would make you slower. So a one point discrepancy would possibly leave to Irvin catching LT.
They were all starting from about the same yard line. The difference was that the ball carrier was running straight down the sideline while the defense had to run from the same yard line on an angle to get to the same spot. Basic geometry says that these defensemen had to run a greater distance to get to the same spot as the ball carrier. Since they almost made it to the same spot in the same time, the defense had to have ran faster than the ball carrier, which their ratings say they shouldn't be able to do.
Ryan I fixed Madden all except for the QB sneak that’s just dumb on the developers part but everything else is fixed you can check out any recent video I made on my channel I don’t want to put any links in your comments because that’s not cool. But love your videos they are super accurate good work my man.
So I now have sliding down easily do it nowadays but my quaterback still fumbles when sacked way to much my qb has over fourty fumbles in one season fumbles at least 4-5 times a game I turned fumbling down to zero and he still fumbles i don't get it
I mean, it could also be that LT, Irvin, and Amerson's speed, aglity, awareness and stamina are all pretty similar. I not that suprised they caught up after the second broken tackle, it was a near straight-line for them to catch up on
Sean Smith is not a safety but anyway, the reason Amerson didn't attempt to tackle originally is bc that animations doesn't allow any engagement so defenders think that u r getting tackled but in the game that animation only means u r breaking the tackle so that is just bad design in the gameplay and animations. Also Amerson's pusuit down the field is horrendous he almost goes to mid field instead of on the sideline. Also u just ran into Sean Smith, u cutting in did nothing, just ur elusiveness is high enough to break the tackle. Holding the ball is the reason they caught up, is it realistic, no but that is why they r. Who ever is bringing up stamina doesn't understand what that effects or how it works in game. Only when that hits empty on a long run will that effect ur speed. Mostly it effects carrying and sub rotations.
The better question is why don't they chase you down and tackle you more efficiently. One of those defenders should have ran at a much bigger angle for you than they did, they should have caught you at like the 30
Irvin should be dead tired he ran into more people lol. But you should be tired also because you ran over two people. Shouldn’t have been a td because your stride was broken. But not caught by Irvin
Its all about angle of pursuit and how when you have to do the juke move on the safety that is slowing you down so if the Amerson or Irving use the perfect angles which you learn back in freshmen year of football that’s why they are catching up
My explanation is that it's LT he has never stumble I think. Also the offense probably went to Coaching Adjustment and set carrying to agressive and blocking to agressive. By setting carrying to agressive he shrugs off tackles more often for bigger chance to fumble by strip. And there's the fact that it's arcade and that's super common.
** ACCELERATION ** - i read what felt like half these comments and no one pointed out ACCELERATION. TBH i am surprised you never caught it. Tomlinson ACCELERATION is an 87. Irving is an 83, and Amerson is an 86. from what the details on madden stats, SPEED is kinda like your top speed. ACCELERATION is your 0-60. STAMINA only comes into play after multiple plays been called sorta like a no huddle or fast paced drives. PURSUIT is another rating or reason why they are taking such good angles to get to you. seeing that the actual race started at the 35yrd line, everything seemed to line up as you still managed to get into the endzone with no one catching you. Irving is an 86 in PURSUIT , Amerson was a 74. Irving APPEARS to be catching up because of his angle towards you, on top of a crispy 83 ACCELERATION, that explains your analysis on him. as for Amerson, he was just as fast as Tomlinson. but not faster as he would've beat Irving in the chase after you.
You doing jukes (slows you down) Irving was in full sprint the while time. But the biggest reason of all is the SPEED THRESHOLD. Turn they shit off and this doesn't happen.
Ok. The explanation is that this is how Madden games are. Since 92 its been this way. In fact, it was WORSE before the game went "3D" in 97. In those games, BOTH teams would chase you down the field if you broke a big run. It was hillarious to watch this mass of humanity form a sentient blob, and litterltly chase you down the field. Fumbles were even better, as EVERYONE even lineman suddenly had 99 speed and formed a human car wreck over the ball. It was great!
This is all connected to some hidden “attribute” or algorithm that allows sliders to fluctuate in favor of a more competitive game. I’ve very rarely had blowouts in 18. It’s far too common to end the 3rd QTR up 35-3, only to watch the A.I. Offense become unstoppable while the player offense becomes inept. Final score, 35-30 type shit.
I love your vids, but I'll debate this one. Let's say, LT takes a stamina hit for being the carrier on the first play. Now let's also say he takes a hit for the energy wasted on a broken tackle on the second. The LBs and DBs are primarily strafing without using much stamina/turbo/speed burst. Once you pass the line of scrimmage, could it be possible that at that point they start to turbo/accel and that's why? But honestly we've all seen it in Madden, one player gets caught by a slower player. Especially QBs while still behind the line. Some DT has spent 3-4 seconds in a shoving match against a guy similar in size and strength and what happens? He gets through, I take off running with a 90something speed, yet he's gaining on me? Well, I can't throw it cause if he catches me I'll get the QB spin fumble so...idk, pray for a broken tackle I guess?
Player size versus the size of the field is screwed once again. Vertically, the field is perfect. Horizontally, it's about an extra yard on each side. The game engine has to cheat the players a little also because the AI isn't made well enough to legitimately play a real game. The game is designed for 5 minute quarters in arcade mode on player-to-player head to head. The CPU cheats, and the AI is wonkey, plus the irregular size of the field? It's a mess. The players have to be able to "catch" yours when slower, because like David Amerson did, the moron goes in a circle instead of trying to dive from the side and trip up LT.
There is a setting in which you can make it so if you have a body like Brandon Cooks, you can just zoom by people. Its Min Player Speed Threshold. Set it to 0 if you haven't already. Plus you broke a tackle, so stamina went down and slowed you down. Pursuit was a big part of this.
EA does not care about madden games that’s why madden games always gets released at the same date every year. What kind of game gets released every year? Madden is the only one and that’s because all they care about is the money. STOP BUYING MADDEN GAMES. or at least skip a couple of years.
Bruce Irvin and David Amerson are pretty fast in real life By the end of the play they were both 5 Yards behind , they weren’t gonna catch you , I’m gonna say the pursuit angle gave the appearance In the Marshal Faulk spin video you hoped for an animation that would slow down Marshal Faulk stride. In this video you got that so that did close the distance between you , Irvin and Amerson And you can’t expect a 3pt and 1pt speed rating difference to separate you guys by much... I could understand if LT was a 91 speed or above ... so to say ratings done mean much ... can’t be validated on this one with such a small difference.... Stamina does matter, it’s gonna affect the Top speed ... the run was 90yards ... you’re gonna slow down by yard 80 ... hence why Irvin and Amerson never caught you ... stamina was depleted , Top speed wearing But truly the biggest reason was that last tackle that was broken ... if you’re shrugging a guy off you while two fast defenders are running at top speed clear path they’re gonna gain some ground ...
i can only come up with 2 answers. First answer is the obvious answer.... It's EA. They've been screwing up madden for years!!! The only other answer that i came up with is that you're carrying the ball so it might slow you down a little. But i'm going with the EA answer
EA sports games are scripted or rigged ,, it’s all about the $$ and let me tell you why “) EA NHL online game play is a perfect example, won’t go into to all the details but lets just say the programming logic can dynamically interpret a users skill level i.e. goals scored, goals allowed, defensive and offensive capability, speed of team and so on. With that analytical data that can easily be stored in a database the coding logic programmatically will allow a sub par or bad user to win games or at the very least score goals when they shouldn’t … and why you ask? .. it’s all about the $$ A user that loses to much or can’t score or even compete will lose interest in the game, especially sporting games therefore by dynamically letting said user win, score and compete ensures EA to some degree will stay interested in the game on some level and most importantly to them, interested just enough to buy the next release unit of the game i.e. NHL 2019, 20, 21, Madden, FIFA and so on. This is just my opinion, but a legit opinion and something that more than likely is done. It’s all about the $$..
This has been a problem since Madden 2003, I remember having to move sliders around to get backside DE from catching my RB from behind. It's silly, it's a difficulty setting thing, not true sim football. They have to boost the AI, because their ratings they use for players matter little to at all.
First of all your playing in arcade mode😂 so that’s why but also that’s realistic bc LT isn’t that fast for a RB but Bruce irvin is fast for a OLB & he took a good angle. The missed tackle by the corner at the begging was fake but the rest of the play is right that’s exactly how I️t happens. & also keep in mind he broke a tackle then ran 90 yards. Of course he’s gonna get tired by like the other 40
Pursuit rating? Has a purpose. There is sliders you can adjust, where if you were a hacker and could manipulate it to say 1000% you could technically get a huge lineman 30 yards out of the play to nearly catch up to a 99 speex player before the bubble of the pursuit is broken and it becomes again player vs player.
The bogus part is the HORRIFIC angles players take at tackling. Also did you see the blocker who smoked crack and agitated his Parkinsons while trying to keep up with the play looking left and right while blocking no one? Thats what Im more concerned with.
Rubber-band ai is in almost every genre of game. Realism is boring. Racing games are super obvious with it, but all games do this to an extent. Early versions of Madden and NCAA had other more blatant methods like interceptions, fumbles and injuries to keep games close, current versions rely on this more subtle, but just as effective method. If the player is getting blown out the game assists in penalties and slow reactions on defense. If the player is dominating the opposite occurs. I like this because it makes the game way more fun in single player.
It's called a pursuit angle, that's football 101. Watch larry allen a lineman chase down a linebacker if you need an example. I know madden not perfect, but it is still just a video game.
Your running back doesn’t have much stamina after breaking 2 tackles. And yes your stamina goes down significantly after breaking a tackle or juking. And the other guys still had stamina cause they didn’t do anything that play. And trust me I’m not defending madden theirs so much wrong with it but I’m just sayin
Most of us are too smart for these 2K and EA pyramid schemes and they know this but they have moved on: they dont give a smelly log. The problem with monopolys like EA running The only NFL game is that they have millions of age 13 and under gamers and that number is growing along with the amount of gullible people around the world. Also account for the wealthy gamers that benefit from this system as well as people that now make a living off playing the game. They dont give a lizards balloon about the intelligent gamer because they have a new crop of buyers coming every year; literally stealing from babies and we just happen to be actually caught "in the game". So they give us the ice cream and tell us we have to earn the spoon if we want to enjoy eating it and not look like a damn fool. This is a metaphor for nearly everything in the world. More then half the world is nearly living on the internet and we still let them push us around even on the internet. Its 99 to 1. This is why we get the scabby infected virus of a game wrapped in this years most commercial appealing players face on it and we should not expect more but maybe in the future expect less as gamers grow older. I'm guilty just like all of us.. I do nothing because there is no strong community that's fighting against these companys making. Also I'm poor and truly don't give a turtles toe enough about this individual issue. Our online game community needs a leader. The internet needs leaders.
It's not about the ratings or difficulty settings guys. Of course speed, acceleration, and stamina play a part but It's not as great as you think. There's a default slider titled "speed threshold" it allows even the slowest guy to catch up to a ball carrier especially if their "pursuit" skill is high enough. Pursuit determines whether or a defender can close the gap between them and the guy running towards the end zone, in this case It's LT. You're welcome.
Breaking the tackle and throwing in the juke move will drain the stamina bar faster than sprinting from a standstill. Also, Irvin has a good angle of pursuit - which there is a rating for. I was an OL in high school, chased down many a cornerback on intercepted passes because I took a good angle - That's what you're seeing here.
Realistically Anderson should have finished off the tackle in the backfield rendering everything else in this play irrelevant. But this is Madden and the AI has always been dumb as dog shit. I'm guessing you're playing on All Madden so the AI is given "cheats" to try and keep up with an actual human opponent which is why those guys can stay with you and even close some gap while you end up scoring anyway.
there is nothing alarming here you are over looking this remember it was (almost) and if one expects video games to be 100% rating accurate on every play then YOU will have a miserable time if you watch every player and every play and look this close to it you can find a problem somewhere remember A.I has gone a long way but 22 people on everyplay you can't explect that something like this won't happen sometime for me the rating difference was what gave him the break away ability which he did that. no problem here
Players with the ball run slower. They don’t have as much momentum help from there arms. So over a distance of 80 yards, a player with similar speed, without a ball, will have an edge.
Was going to say maybe their pursuit rating had something to do with but saw Amerson had a 70 something lol. I don't think stats really matter, I had a 99 carry QB and would still fumble a lot when running
I think the pursuit stat comes into play there as well. Cause I've seen players like Khalil Mack chase down Mobile QBs who are in full sprint. They have better stats over him in every category that should matter (speed, accl, etc) yet he catches them.
It's their pursuit. Irvin is slower but has much better pursuit so he takes a better angle at the RB. If amerson had Irvin's pursuit then he would have caught LT. This has been in the game since like madden 11. Nothing new
This will always happen if you nevern learn to USER that's clicking off and on player as they coming to play. Computer will never help you win on madden they are dumb no matter how good there states are
Larry Allen prevented a pick six! But for real, this sort of thing does happen but not this egregious. A ball carrier will always be slower with the ball in his hands than without. However, the level at which they all caught up makes zero sense
I've had plays like this where my RB breaks free on the end only to get chased down by a DT or LB i never saw, when it happens i just turn the game off. I don't mind losing but i hate being cheated..
Watch JuJu Smith-Schuster’s almost touchdown against the patriots earlier in the season, or when he got ran down by the lions players even earlier in the season. Your player only has slightly more stamina than the other two, and when you make a move or break a tackle, it affects your stamina bar greatly. You ran out of steam way earlier than they did because of the broken tackles.
This is very easy to explain. By default the game intentionally manipulates the speed rating so that fast players are slower and slow players are faster. If you want a more realistic simulation experience when it comes to speed, then you have to put the minimum speed threshold down to zero. That makes the speed rating a hard number that isn't artificially reduced or increased. This isn't new. It's been in the game since the original xbox/ps2 generation of consoles.
The only argument I can make about stamina here is we don't know how tired Tomlinson was (or any of the guys for that matter) at the start of this play, he could have been in the yellow and everybody else may have still been green for all we know. That said, all things equal it makes no sense that guys with lower speed and lower acceleration should be able to catch up to Tomlinson, he should be putting distance between them not giving it up. But you could see in the replay the rubber banding the game does, they basically pull guys to within distance and i just don't understand why. It always seems like with sports games in general who every has the ball they always take a hit to their top line speed. I could see that in basketball, but don't get it in football.
Explaining this mess of a title is easy; they're not programmed to have proper foot planting so everyone on this virtual field just float and skate around like ghost from the pac-man games; CPU gets to boots the floating speed of any player at it's own discretion
Minimum player speed threshold ? I'm pretty sure it controls how big the gap is between fast a slow guys. If it was at 100, then everyone would be the same speed regardless of speed ratings
Here's the problem the people that play these games have never played a down of real football or watched film on real football in their lives. I have at a high level and I've see things 90% of the complaints on Madden happen in real game film. Now you have to understand that it a computer trying to simulate real life and it not gonna be prefect every time. I say to these people go back and watch game film on big plays in the NFL or college and you will see a linebacker walking down a running back or even a d lineman at sometimes or a safety take a wrong angle
This is just a thought: but maybe when you made that zig zag move and he touched you he slowed you down. Plus turning and then turning again also probably slowed you.
Wouldn't Tomlinson lose a little speed carrying the ball? You can run a little faster when you are not carrying the football then you can when you are carrying it. Granted, that doesn't explain everything you mentioned here, but it is a part of it.
It’s actually a pursuit angle...if he’s running at a diagonal to where you’re going to be, rather than directly at you, he gains an advantage over distance. I had to do the drill in college football every fucking day...it was called the rabbit drill. Speed will naturally always beat the angle, but it gives the slower guy a chance.
They are pursing you, it's a common angle tackling drill in all football. They are not right behind you the whole time, they were taking a pursuit angle allowing them to gain a lot of distance. You will notice in real life slower players catch faster players doing this all the time. Also their is no way a move Would ever work on a DT like that.
Bruce irvin is one of the fastest lbs in the game there are lbs with speed of rbs and speed of wrs hell theyre most 6'1 225-230 like a wr but i did get ran down with my 89 speed 91 acl by a slow as lb
It doesn't make much of a difference, but a slight difference is that LT is carrying the ball. It would slow him down just a hair because of the little gain of weight and altering of stride compared to not holding the ball, but not enough to where those guys are catching him.
Their heads all turned the exact same is ridiculous.
Bro he just had more heart lol Maybe they should create that rating to explain some questionable gameplay. 96 heart rating for him
Don't give them any ideas!
love it 99 heart

They did used to have the “swag” stat or whatever it was
That’s hilarious!!!

Andrew Larson my point was buckle up its gonna be a bumpy ride
Didn't Tomlinson lose a bunch of stamina when breaking away from two tackles?
All of this is horrifically scripted. The AI should be attacking the ball carrier, which isn't done. The safety is out of position during the play which allows LT to not get boxed in like you'd see in every game just about. And then, there's the dt that weighs...100lbs more? And there's a definite strength discrepancy between a 210lb elusive back and a defensive lineman. Here's the thing though, as long as idiot kids buy the game, it will never change.
Lucas Henry exactly or as long as nobody take them to court again over and over it won't change
Lucas Henry not just kids buy it. Their parents buy it for them and adults buy it for themselves
MaddenFootball Talk Take them to court?
Hey, madden 17 isnt that bad...
Mike Mike yes sue them. What they are doing is illegal and someone won once already
Ps2/xbox NCAA games did this great if you played a cupcake you dominated if you play a powerhouse you had to be on your A game...impact players were kinda OP but you always had to respect them or pay the price
It happens because the players dont propel themselves with their feet...their foot speed is irrelevant, because the game logic is that once the game has set their trajectory and decided that theyre in pursuit, from there everyone running downfield is basically just being pulled forward on a string and they start gliding down the field...their foot movement is just a distraction to get you to believe they are moving, but in reality theyre just stuck in a forward run cycle animation with no realistic basis for moving forward...so actual player speed is irrelevant because EA can just determine how fast they want each player to be pulled forward on their string, while performing thier run cycle animation
the only answer: its madden
It's Gohn! Ahahahahahaahahahahahaha
To answer your question. It happened because you were playing on Arcade mode.
This shit happens in every mode
Jaden Reyes yup
Dollar Junior Whats the best mode to play ob
Jaden Reyes no not at all lol, it u play on competitive if ur player is faster then he’s gone no ones getting him
This happens in every fucking mode. You want to try again ju-ju-ju-Junior?
Those were some pretty ugly animations too
Maybe because it's on Arcade
t a MUT is on competitive
@2:24 it says arcade
Tanner Mitchell anything on ultimate team is on arcade
Seasons is Competitive
t a madden has always been on arcade fym??
I think its because you lost speed as you did this zigzag move and collided with the safety. After that you had to gain your speed back.
The defensive players were able to sprint the whole way so they caught up to you.
This is really the only way i could explain this...
Good vid!
Isn`t that in connection to the "Player Speed Parity" scale slider ?
I always understood that it brings players closer together, speed wise (correct if wrong)
I guess it is on the standard value 50 when you play online,
I always use 25 offline,
its 50 when online so that's why irvin almost caught him
I'm just speculating, but in real life situations a player running with the football doesn't run at full speed or as fast as they would without it most of the time.
Why don't you praise the player for being faster I don't see how you think it's so easy to catch up to someone going fall blast in a straight line.
I wanna known how John Ross, the fastest man since the combine was started, doesn't have 100spd
It tyreek hill
Mo Alston not based on combine times
There are settings in game, where you can make the faster player faster than the slower players. Set "speed threshold" to 0, and you won't be caught by slower players
Like so others can see
Sounds good... doesn't work.
there should probably be two separate ratings: stamina and (maybe) endurance.
RyanMoody21 gotcha
please tell me you were joking with the "speed=mass x acceleration" because mass x acceleration= force, not speed
Chris Wasz yea I got it messed up. More downforce does mean more speed tho.
4:15 Ryan: No player should be really that winded at the second play.
Ezekiel Elliot: Hold my beer...
Breaking two tackles takes your stamina. This is explained by ea in the running moves they produce.
Wow! That was terrible! If ratings dont mean anything, then why play the game or buy mut cards! EA YOU HAVE TO MAKE RATING MEAN SOMETHING!!! Good vid Ryan! I hope you do more of these!
lol your dumb
PUBG HUBGS
How? Explain how i am dumb or wrong!
PUBG HUBGS
Do you not want ratings to mean anything? Do you want to get caught from behind by a player whose speed is lower than yours, hmmm?
It’s just a realistic reaction of what would happen
there is lots of RNG in madden and this is not an instance when it is used.
The only rational I can give is Tomlinson is holding the football which means he can't swing his arms freely to run at full speed.
The real travesty is that the cameraman on the sideline won’t get their shots of the ball carrier scoring because they never pivoted towards the progression of the run.
This video popped up in my recommended, and I hate to say that nothing has changed.
Madden has never been about immersions man. Madden has always been about exploiting the holes in the game engine.
I would agree, hopefully people change their mind about what they want from this game.
I think speed is speed in the game. What I mean is weight doesn’t affect a persons stats, if they have 99 speed the game doesn’t care if he’s 6’6 290lb he’s gonna run like he has 99 speed. And the difference in speed is only 4 points, which gave Tomlinson the edge in that foot race, plus the fact that his stamina is bad helped you too
Good channel
The computer players don't get tired. Users do. I believe they also get somewhat of a boost. So if it was a user clicked on Bruce Irvin he would've been further behind the back in the chase. The game allows the computer to have many advantages. I DELETED IT lol. Got tired of scripts and bugs in gameplay. Keep doing your thing man. Love the channel.
It's all about the pursuit rating... because he's pursuing. 86 pursuit is actually pretty good for an ultimate team linebacker.
So would you say Benjamin Watson is faster than Champ Bailey? He ran him down years ago. Running with the ball in your arm would make you slower. So a one point discrepancy would possibly leave to Irvin catching LT.
I’m a 5’6 200 lb OLB and I can still run down any rb
HEADASS😂
Nah but fr my 40 yr dash is 4.9
I remember getting caught with Percy Harvin in M25 (99 spd) down the sidelines by a guy who didn't even have a picture...
I mean taking a good pursuit angle helps. I was an OL and chased down many cornerbacks
Edwin Williams that is exactly what happens here. good to find a sensible person in this comment section.
Edwin Williams
I like how you low key threw your QB under the bus
One of those defenders should have ran at a much bigger angle for you than they did, they should have caught you at like the 30
this dude really complains about everything lmao. dude crying about pursuit angles in a solo challenge
Irvin should be dead tired he ran into more people lol. But you should be tired also because you ran over two people. Shouldn’t have been a td because your stride was broken. But not caught by Irvin
It's all about the pursuit angles. That's why the defenders caught up to you
Its all about angle of pursuit and how when you have to do the juke move on the safety that is slowing you down so if the Amerson or Irving use the perfect angles which you learn back in freshmen year of football that’s why they are catching up
Angles.... get the right angle on the field doesn't matter how fast a person is. I know this is a game but still....
That thershold Shit gotta go bruce did run a 4.43 in the combine
I think amerson should have been able to catch you but Irvin was in the way lol
Bruce Irvin and David Amerson are pretty fast in real life
By the end of the play they were both 5 Yards behind , they weren’t gonna catch you , I’m gonna say the pursuit angle gave the appearance
In the Marshal Faulk spin video you hoped for an animation that would slow down Marshal Faulk stride. In this video you got that so that did close the distance between you , Irvin and Amerson
And you can’t expect a 3pt and 1pt speed rating difference to separate you guys by much... I could understand if LT was a 91 speed or above ... so to say ratings done mean much ... can’t be validated on this one with such a small difference....
Stamina does matter, it’s gonna affect the Top speed ... the run was 90yards ... you’re gonna slow down by yard 80 ... hence why Irvin and Amerson never caught you ... stamina was depleted , Top speed wearing
But truly the biggest reason was that last tackle that was broken ... if you’re shrugging a guy off you while two fast defenders are running at top speed clear path they’re gonna gain some ground ...
i can only come up with 2 answers. First answer is the obvious answer.... It's EA. They've been screwing up madden for years!!! The only other answer that i came up with is that you're carrying the ball so it might slow you down a little. But i'm going with the EA answer
EA sports games are scripted or rigged ,, it’s all about the $$ and let me tell you why “)
EA NHL online game play is a perfect example, won’t go into to all the details but lets just say the programming logic can dynamically interpret a users skill level i.e. goals scored, goals allowed, defensive and offensive capability, speed of team and so on. With that analytical data that can easily be stored in a database the coding logic programmatically will allow a sub par or bad user to win games or at the very least score goals when they shouldn’t … and why you ask? .. it’s all about the $$
A user that loses to much or can’t score or even compete will lose interest in the game, especially sporting games therefore by dynamically letting said user win, score and compete ensures EA to some degree will stay interested in the game on some level and most importantly to them, interested just enough to buy the next release unit of the game i.e.
Tomlinson just bodied that man. That's somebody's man-child. #97 on suicide alert.
Pursuit is what advanced Irvin so much closer.
there is nothing alarming here you are over looking this remember it was (almost) and if one expects video games to be 100% rating accurate on every play then YOU will have a miserable time if you watch every player and every play and look this close to it you can find a problem somewhere remember A.I has gone a long way but 22 people on everyplay you can't explect that something like this won't happen sometime for me the rating difference was what gave him the break away ability which he did that. no problem here
Players with the ball run slower. They don’t have as much momentum help from there arms. So over a distance of 80 yards, a player with similar speed, without a ball, will have an edge.
Fun fact, speed is different at each position. A 99 speed DE won't catch up to LT, but a 99 speed CB will. Makes no damn sense
Man I️ get hawked by lineman when I’m running with obj or mutmaster Taylor it irritates me when people catch up and I️ know they shouldn’t
Nothing new
Acceleration might have a factor. The fact that you cut and slowed down after you broke that first tackle? Idk I’m just trying to justify this
This will always happen if you nevern learn to USER that's clicking off and on player as they coming to play. Computer will never help you win on madden they are dumb no matter how good there states are
thats called an angle bud
Larry Allen prevented a pick six!
But for real, this sort of thing does happen but not this egregious. A ball carrier will always be slower with the ball in his hands than without. However, the level at which they all caught up makes zero sense
I've had plays like this where my RB breaks free on the end only to get chased down by a DT or LB i never saw, when it happens i just turn the game off. I don't mind losing but i hate being cheated..
I believe it's the speed threshold, i don't know the exact name. But, it allows slower, heavier players to catch up during the play.
I big thing is. the Solo challenge is in Arcade mode. That won't Do anything about the pursuit issues. But that initial broken tackle
