    12:00 Having a summer house is a tradition not just among Russians, but also among many other Slavic nations. While people have been moving to the cities in recent decades, they still maintain properties in the countryside where they spend their weekends, and especially during summer vacations. Even those who move abroad invest in summer houses in home countries and spend much of their holidays there. Many people choose to move to their summer houses after retirement as well. There's something special about being closer to nature that no city can match.

  • @antyspi4466
    @antyspi4466 26 днів тому +8

    @Wyatt - It makes a lot of sense for the Russians to label the Ukrainian Kursk offensive as a "terror operation". Since international law bans wars as a means of politics (and the Russians are very keen to follow the law by the letter, at least officially), the Russians label their war as "Special Military Operation", quite similar to what the Americans do when they invade a country. The Americans conduct "counter terrorism operations", or "stabilization operations", but don´t wage wars, because otherwise Congress would have to declare it. But what to do, if the opponent in the not-war strikes back and either invades your turf or heavily bombs your assets with missiles or drones? You can´t label it as a "war crime", because it is not a war. So you label it it as a "terrorist operation", because this sounds very mean and allows you to start "counter terror operations".
    As I said, the Russian terminology may sound weird, but is very logical.

    • @jasonblatter1397

      We’re all dumber for having read that. But, actually this is a Ukrainian SMO to demilitarize the border areas and protect the Ukrainian-speaking population, set up humanitarian aid, and hold referendums, this is not an invasion. Should be fun to watch, but I’m keeping my eyes on Crimea, which is the real target this year, imo.

      @@antyspi4466 What? No, Russia has never cared for any international laws at all and Russians have definitely never been the type to follow the laws to the letter (the exact reason to why doping scandal exploded in 2020) . How Russian government labels things depends only on how they want the Russian public itself to percieve it, and currently they do not want there to be any fears of public conscription. If you put Russian operations into the same bucket with American operations, then you are deluded, because the heavy pre-lobbying in international councils that takes a large part of American focus, is almost completely absent for Russia.

    • @jasonblatter1397
      @jasonblatter1397 25 днів тому

      Which is why the Ukrainians are calling this a SMO to stabilize the border areas, demilitarize the buffer zone, to protect the Ukrainian speaking people of Kurs'k, and to distribute humanitarian aid to the Russians in Kurs'k abandoned by Putin. It's not illegal, it's not a war or invasion.

The Russians and Ukrainians share about 60% of their languages, which is about the same as Italian and Spanish share. Basically, they started as dialects and then gradually grew apart, though a common history and religion have continued to cross-pollinate both languages. Could you enlighten me, what is the tactical, let alone strategic objectives of this Kursk attack. Is it occupying some sparsely populated rural borderlands, diverting Russian troops, is it reconnaissance groups running around taking pics, claiming territory and running away again. Getting sites like this sucked into Ukrainian government propaganda seems so like shooting fish in a barrel. In a time when the whole Donbass front is tettering , the Ukrainians have brought scare and precious men and resources into the open. They are exposed the air attack, superior artillery , drone attacks , ambushes on country roads. It's like the addiction to flag planting as an indicator of progress is a kind of contradictory tool. On one hand appearing to show progress while at the same time, fitting the Ukraine military into a noose of their own making

Ukraine cannot pull more men away from the Frontline further south or risk complete collapse of those fronts, so whatever men are in Kursk now is IT for the most part.

      XaXaXa. We'll see what happens, but all of the optimistic projections by the DIctator's cheerleaders have been wrong. I think it's smart to initiate an SMO to stabilize the border areas, and protect the Ukrainian-speaking populations as well. The Ukrainians just want to demilitarize the border zone, provide aid and security for the population, and hold a vote for those who support annexation. The violence in Kursk would stop if the Russians would just lay down their weapons and let the Ukrainians distribute the aid, and set up polling stations.

      Though MBT’s used in battle will be lost. I do think I have seen a few T-90’s destroyed as well! ;)

However, waters... ) is entrance and Wyjscié the door to leave ( we "chiant" ? ) ... Mix of Chinese and French, his Honour Shit, Wei Chié.. ( could be "wei lao shi ..." with an error in accentuation effectively the honorable professor would turn into a honorable old shit... )...

      It’s not about ground gain but Putin said from the beginning that it is an "attrition" war : destroying ukrainian military equipment : it’s done, Ukraine fight only with help from nato but less and less ; destroying ukrainian army : it’s almost done as zelynski sent 3rd wave of ukrainian conscripts : they miss men. This is an "attrition" war which is not about gaining ground.
      What you should "see" is that if the front is not much moving it’s because the ukrainian army replace and replace and again replace men who are kia in "the same front" : so what "change" is the amount of kia ukrainian soldiers in the same front, and not the front. Now russian are moving faster because after 2 years ukrainian army cannot be replaced anymore by a fourth wave of conscripts : they all escape.
      Now you should understand what means an attrition war which is a russian success : the ukrainian military equipment is reduiced to the minimum and the ukrainian army is a ruin except a few elite brigades sent to Kursk, defending Kharkiv and Odessa.
