I just started Altreno. I was using regular Tretinoin 0.05% gel and wanted something more hydrating on my skin. I’ve talked to a pharmacist and it should work just as good for wrinkles as regular Tretinoin. It’s basically a lotion version of Retin a micro gel. It uses polymeric microspheres in a lotion base. So it should penetrate deeper in the skin and penetrate the pores more easily. It then gradually releases the Tretinoin instead of dumping it all at once.

I’ve been curious about this new tretinoin so appreciate the positive review. I’m currently a Curology user, and I’m pretty sure you can go higher than 0.05%. In fact, I think Angie (Hot & Flashy) is much higher. I also like that they include skin care ingredients in their formula.
The fact that your post-cleanse redness disappeared after applying Allies of Skin niacinamide serum makes me want to run out and try that! Have been using Paula’s Choice for a few years but this one seems like another solid option!

I just noticed that your face was really red before putting that niacinamide. Afterwards, your skin calmed down. I am on tretinoin as well and i both have niacinamide and green tea toner to support my tret journey. I also noticed that your routine is fragrance-free. Fragrance-free regimen us really recommended when on tret.
Now I need a beautiful "spa" robe like that 😂 I'm using 0.05% tret for 2 years now, I love it ❤️ Slowly moving on retinoids for neck, chest and body, I use the ordinary retinol in squalane mixed in my body lotion. So far it works great, particularly my arms are very improved, after years of sun damage. The rest of the body needs more work, and I was thinking of adding glycolic acid to speed things up a little. Would absolutely love to see a video on antiaging skin care. For us over 40😀

I had been applying it **before** my serums and moisturizer, and I've started molting like a lizard, so I'm going to try it your way tonight. I'm only supposed to use it 3x a week and I spent all weekend healing my skin and watching your other vids before I realized you were also starting a higher Tret too. This was very informative and relaxing. BTW, I also get the, "YOU'RE IN YOUR FORTIES?!" look all the time, I instinctually knew your age lady, Asian don't raisin. hahaha

I'm up to tretinoin 0.1% every night, but I've been using it since I was 21. I actually put it on my eyelids all the up up to my lash line under my eyes and below my brows; and as lip liner to avoid lip lines. I wear it straight on my dry skin at night after washing and that's my simplified 2 step night time routine

I have normal-oily skin and I don’t find Laneige Cream Skin to be greasy at all. However, I will be ordering that essence from Dr. Ceuracle because it has some of my favorite ingredients in it that cover various concerns, whereas the Cream Skin is just more for moisture.
I had been getting dry, flaky skin for over a year with a higher strength tret prescription. I decided to try incorporating an AHA toner (since my skin wasn’t sore and barrier impaired any longer) plus a peptide serum. It did the trick. I no longer have dry flaky skin.

OMG! I made the same mistake than you when I increased the strengh to 0.05%... Dry and red patches all over my face. Also... 150 USD for Tret is crazy!!! I got mine in Spain paying full price (I live in Denmark so I don´t get Spanish Social Security prices) for 29€'. My mother gets it for under 6€. Price of medicine in the US is insane.
Okay, I need that essence! Also, 48?! Whattt!! 🤩 I recently started using retinol 1% (I tried The Ordinary and Paula's Choice) and damn, the peeling is no joke. Especially around the nose and eyes. Don't know why the skin around my eyes is so irritated when I don't apply around that area! It feels super uncomfortable and tight. Had to stop using it and skip all actives because it burns!
I use Curology at .02% nightly without a buffer. I do moisturize once it has had time to dry on my skin. I do like the idea of a gelee formula but plan to stick with Curology. No other product I've invested in over the years holds a candle to tretinoin for improving my skin.
so i have a question regarding the whole "keep tretinoin away from the eye area" argument. it's always felt a bit counterintuitive to me - the eye area is often the one with the most wrinkles, and tret would help combat that. ofc i understand the counter argument - the skin is thinner, more sensitive, hence more susceptible to the side-effects of strong actives. also, you don't want it IN your eyes. but i want it to treat the difficult areas - the eyes, around the mouth and my neck. how can we reconcile these concerns? right now, i'm using 0.05 on my face, retinaldehyde on my neck, and some of that same retinaldehyde mixed in with my eye cream. hoping that this will increase my tolerance, so that i can use tretinoin all over in the future. that might not work, but at least i'm not seing any negative effects from the retinaldehyde yet.
Actually I am using 0.05% tretinoin on my face including around my eye area. By trial and error method, I realized that the skin around the eye area is slightly thinner and it stings after a few days if I use the same amount of tretinoin as on my face. So I lowered the amount a bit, again by trial and error, and voila! There was considerable difference in my crow feet after 6 months of tretinoin. So I would say being mindful of the amount I applied and not going too close to the eyes made a great difference for me.
Hi Renee! I’m confused with cleansing. I only wear moisturiser with mineral spf (Paula’s choice calm line) no makeup. Do I need to double cleanse? Some people say it’s necessary when using mineral based sunscreens because they’re harder to get off?? So single cleanse or double cleanse? With what type of cleanser? Oil, gel, cream? How do I know whether I’m cleansing too much or not enough and whether my skin is clean or not? Thanks. All the best.

Don't know why the skin around my eyes is so irritated when I don't apply around that area! It feels super uncomfortable and tight. Had to stop using it and skip all actives because it burns!
I use Curology at .02% nightly without a buffer. I do moisturize once it has had time to dry on my skin. I do like the idea of a gelee formula but plan to stick with Curology. No other product I've invested in over the years holds a candle to tretinoin for improving my skin.

so i have a question regarding the whole "keep tretinoin away from the eye area" argument. it's always felt a bit counterintuitive to me - the eye area is often the one with the most wrinkles, and tret would help combat that. ofc i understand the counter argument - the skin is thinner, more sensitive, hence more susceptible to the side-effects of strong actives. also, you don't want it IN your eyes. but i want it to treat the difficult areas - the eyes, around the mouth and my neck. how can we reconcile these concerns? right now, i'm using 0.05 on my face, retinaldehyde on my neck, and some of that same retinaldehyde mixed in with my eye cream. hoping that this will increase my tolerance, so that i can use tretinoin all over in the future. that might not work, but at least i'm not seing any negative effects from the retinaldehyde yet.
Actually I am using 0.05% tretinoin on my face including around my eye area. By trial and error method, I realized that the skin around the eye area is slightly thinner and it stings after a few days if I use the same amount of tretinoin as on my face. So I lowered the amount a bit, again by trial and error, and voila! There was considerable difference in my crow feet after 6 months of tretinoin. So I would say being mindful of the amount I applied and not going too close to the eyes made a great difference for me.
I’ve seen dermatologist friends use their tret over some Vaseline to allow for some absorption but not all.

Hi Renee! I’m confused with cleansing. I only wear moisturiser with mineral spf (Paula’s choice calm line) no makeup. Do I need to double cleanse? Some people say it’s necessary when using mineral based sunscreens because they’re harder to get off?? So single cleanse or double cleanse? With what type of cleanser? Oil, gel, cream? How do I know whether I’m cleansing too much or not enough and whether my skin is clean or not? Thanks. All the best.
