- @18:47 hours Hicksville Chief 9303 gave a verbal for a building fire at Omega auto body while operating at the scene of a MVA. Seconds later he transmitted a signal 10 for heavy fire in an auto body shop. The fire was in the garage and extended up into the cockloft. 4 lines were stretched and multiple tower ladders operated. The fire was under control in about an hour.

It irritates me to the core seeing people running around in their street clothes and shorts shouting out directions in IDLH areas. Even if you are a firefighter either go and put gear on or go to command out of the hot zone (IDLH). They will survive without you!!!

The only thing missing is the water…….
You see that so much these days. Especially with vollies. A bunch of guys standing around with hooks, but not few guys stretching lines or getting water on the fire.
I am watching from Elmira NY how long did it take to bring that fire under control
The Jericho L1 Tower’s water stream reminded me of a good beer piss off the tailgate of my pickup. Maybe hand lines are good enough for a self-venting fire…and the guy with the saw going up to cut a vent hole only to be denied. These are precious moments documented for all to enjoy forever.
