I found a clip of this song on Instagram so long ago and it stayed in the back of my head. I'm so happy it's out now and I know that the whole song is as beautiful as the small clip I heard.
I thank the algorithm for showing me this as Icarus' myth is one of my favorites; is so special to me in ways I can't describe. The euphoria and, often despicted as recklesness, feeling of freedom that a young soul as Icarus felt when given the oportunity to fly. A comment below said it; this is a very good portrayal of what this myth means from Icarus' perspective, being young and uncaring of the risks even if you know the weight of them rationally; Icarus knew the risks, he was no fool, but oh, wouldn't he do it again to have that taste of total freedom after his captivity. This myth is often told to make the youth behave, heed of the risks of not knowing one's limits or not being conscious of the consequences and, specially, listen to the elders, saying "if Icharus heard his father's warnings, he would have lived, don't make his same mistakes." But I haven't seen any young person that didn't know the consequences of their actions and still did it, not listening to their elders warnings, because they all crave to make their own decisions, dam the consequences, as long as they get to feel that euphoria of choosing their own path with no regrets, because at least they did it.
Imagine on the stage the wings are part of a harness and as the father straps the wings on Icarus begins to fly And then cut to the moment he flies too close to the sun the light in the theatre becomes blinding
After listening to "Of Ashes" for what probably was the 5th time today I thought I'd give this a try....OH MY GOSH this was so powerful and amazing 👏 Tony has so much talent and this was so beautifully made ❤️
WOW. Simply wow! Anna, you have a remarkable amount of talent! This song is so deeply moving that it is indescribable! You practically feel as if you are flying while listening to this masterpiece. What a gift to the world of music!
I came across a snippet on Instagram and it was catchy. I figured I’d chance searching it here and was half surprised to find it. What a wonderful song. I’ll probably have this stuck in my had all week. Thank you for sharing this.
I discovered this song about a week ago and have played it easily 100 times. It is so beautiful and makes me just dream. dream about every scenario I ever have wanted
Hullo! I don't usually comment, ever, but I love this song so much. I'm a huge Greek myth geek and my Spotify knows this and then this song came on??? Instant love. I'm usually so picky with my music but I added it to my playlist as soon as I heard it and have been listening to it nonstop since. It's actually amazing. The feels are on point for how I imagine it and I can picture it entirely in my head. A boy stuck in his imagination while held captive and then his father offers him his dreams and Icarus can't help but grab on and take off like the sparrow that he was so jealous of. I'm not sure this came out right but I hope you get my idea. I love, love, love this song! It sings like a musical (which I love) and it gets stuck in my head.
Aaah I commented on your post that had this song in the background, the song always kinda stayed in my head so I finally looked it up and god I’m glad I did. Like I stated on instagram, I’m not religious anymore but this song hits so close to home. “I’m sorry I’m indifferent, to death and its relentlessness.” So many lines I can relate to. I adore everyone who worked on this piece. Thank you. I hope to learn how to play it one day on the piano
When my friend showed me this song it immediately jumped to one of my favorites for 2023. And I listen to a LOT of music from a billion different genres. Safe to say this is truly something special! It's a shame its not more popular (At least on UA-cam.) Also a Daedalus musical would be dope. There's so much character and story potential when it comes to him and his life in the myths, and this song really breathes life into that idea.
IT’S OKAY, I’M OKAY, THESE TEARS ARE OKAY AND I’M OKAY AND I’M DEFINITELY NOT CRYING BECAUSE I KNOW THAT HE FLEW INTO THE SUN KNOWING HE WOULD BURN OUT A BEAUTIFUL IDIOT, I’M OKAY, THESE TEARS ARE OKAY-
I follow a band called the big push, who do a song called Icarus. I think theirs is an original song that just shares the same title. It's definitely not a ballad and they do an acoustic version as well. I don't think the people that watch this would like their songs, but I did enjoy this song.
the power in his voice…. absolutely insane. the melody of this song is heavenly, pun not intended, and boy does the instrumental compliment it perfectly holy the LYRICS… god if you ever decide to do any other mythological songs do know that i will be the FIRST in line with my loop button at the ready
Hello! I love this song! is there any way that you can make this a karaoke please? i would love to sing this at a upcoming event for my choir! Thank you!!
This is so unbelievable beautiful. The lyrics, the singer, everything. It's just perfect. It literally brings tears in my eyes everytime I hear this. 💗🥺
Lovely in instrumentation, voice, and lyrical composition. It does put me in mind of adrenaline junkies and the high rate of accidental death in young men because the thrill is more valuable than safety. The song doesn't negate the danger, it's very clear Icarus is going willingly to his death just to brush against what he finds beautiful. It's just it's a boldness that needs to be tempered with restraint and reason so one doesn't perish diving headfirst into pleasure without precaution. Icarus probably would've invented a better method of flying, without the melting wax problem, if he didn't choose unlimited indulgence on his first flight. Anyway, I liked it.
I am absolutely obsessed with all of your music! Is it possible to get the sheet music for your songs (this song, Dreamers soundtrack, Of Ashes soundtrack, His Story)? I would love to be able to play all of your songs.
idk if u remember me, i let u a comment in the video os the full musical of dreamers. after liste those songs i was obsessed with your music and i saw all your music videos, u are a genious!!
My friend showed me this and I haven't stopped listening to it (it's been about a day) it will only get worse (my obsession with this song) Edit: I was correct
It's beautiful, but the Christian lens (saying "god" instead of "gods", "angel wings" when the Greeks didn't have angels in their mythology) kinda ruin it imo. But I'm a perfectionist so I guess it's on me, the song is beautiful in all its other aspects.
I found a clip of this song on Instagram so long ago and it stayed in the back of my head. I'm so happy it's out now and I know that the whole song is as beautiful as the small clip I heard.
It's amazing how many people have been saying that. Thank you so much!!!

I love this. Well said.
My friend in year 12 sang this for a competition that he and I were in. I love that fella, such a beautiful song choice and even better voice.
Oh, what I wouldn't give for that movie. This is top tier daydreaming fuel
“Not very good with words” says the chick who just describe my exact thought process while writing this song perfectly. This is beautiful.
Literally the most underrated song on the entire internet. This is easily one of my favorites!!
Thankyou so much. Oh my gosh.

Am I basing the centerpiece of an art project on this song? Yes, yes I am
I heard this on instagram and am kinda confused, so this isn't an actual musical right?
Not at the moment. More of a concept ;)
My friend showed me this and I haven't stopped listening to it (it's been about a day) it will only get worse (my obsession with this song)
Edit: I was correct
It's beautiful, but the Christian lens (saying "god" instead of "gods", "angel wings" when the Greeks didn't have angels in their mythology) kinda ruin it imo.
But I'm a perfectionist so I guess it's on me, the song is beautiful in all its other aspects.
