Thank you! We made it right away since we happened to have all the ingredients handy. Delicious. Another great recipe/video. We had frozen peas and carrots mixed together so we used those. Made it a little more colorful. For those that don't enjoy peeling ginger try using the edge of a plain old teaspoon in place of a peeler. Takes the skin right off without accidentally taking any of your skin off.

I made this and was not impressed with the tofu. But I let it sit in the refrigerator and was astonished how great the tofu tasted. So now I make it and let it sit in the refrigerator so the tofu picks up the taste, It is so good!!
One of the current fusion foods I've heard about is MaPo Tater Tots. Basically mapo tofu served on top of tater tots! Maybe that will win the kids over 😄. I just bought the ingredients to try it.
When our daughter was little, we had a rule that she had to at least TRY a couple of mouthfuls, not just once but each time we made the food that she was balking at. "You don't have to eat it, but you do have to try it" was the mantra. Now 27, she said she was grateful we did that because she knows several picky eaters and she reckons they're a PAIN to deal with!
This is my son's favorite dish! He'll often order it when we go out to eat but he always says he can make it better at home. Yummy! And ps...the Instant Pot Chicken Congee was perfect for my sore mouth today, thank you!

$20! Goose and golden egg comes to mind! It's similar here in Sydney Australia - eating out, even at 'cheap and cheerfuls', is getting so expensive. For $20, two of us can have a nice steak each!

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you keep your smoke detector from going off. You are always heating your wok up after it is smoking and smoking even more when you add the oil.

Mapo tofu is a great introduction tofu dish. The sauce masks any tofu flavour.

Try adding some ground black pepper at the end next time. It will be a whole different nice flavor.

I found it in an Asian market. There was regular and spicy. Regular does not have chilies in it.
