      Hi. How did you diagnose it? Can Launch diagnose it? I didn't find this model @@DalasEVRepair

    Highly impressed. You actually know how to diagnose and fix. I think the new mechanics of the modern electric age will need to be as well educated and as intelligent as yourself. The part replacement method works well enough if the diagnostics are sufficiently sophisticated, but then you have to have long term parts availability and not follow the 'pile 'em high, sell 'em cheap' philosophy, that has developed into the planet destroying consumer society we live with at the moment.

    • @astrogeo1
      @astrogeo1 6 місяців тому +1

      @@marcopolo6915The electrolyte solidifies ! This Zebra battery was originally developed in South Africa to be used on military vehicles and for long time storage. To make it work again it needs a 30 hour liquidification phase and subsequently a number of hours to charge it for normal driving.

    Nice fix, and good that you show SavvyCAN which probably is the best tool for this car (there is another DBC-file you can add also, to interpret the battery messages as well).
    For the connectors which where cut and spliced, that is a very bad way of doing it!
    One should remove the orange cables (and their corresponding pins) from each plug, and fill dem with some Sikaflex or something similar. The only part of them which is need is the small "jumper"-pins for the Emergency Power Off (EPO) circuit in the middle of them. Without the plugs the car wont start and one would get the same EPO / crash error.

    Well done! Probably should investigate why the fuse blew in the first place, no? I'm not very well versed in automotive electrical systems or electrical in general, but there's no reason why a fuse would pop without a problem in something its connected to I'd think.

    Great job troubleshooting the Think and thank you for providing the software and manual links. Do you know where I can find the schematic for a circuit card in the Think? The one I'm repairing is made by SEMIKRON and is labelled as L5052900_04. It has an IRF7307 dual MOSFET, in an SO-8 package.

    My Th!nk 2010 has Internal iso fault and 7 dead cells. I have reset the faults and been driving the car 5.000 km. Now the same error occurred. Is there a way to isolate/disable the dead cells, so the battery can still be used? With the last charge I was getting more than 160 km range with it.

    Kind of weird that the previous shop had not checked the fuses at all. Isn't it one of the first things to figure out if any vehicle won't start?

    • @celeron55
      @celeron55 3 роки тому +2

      That's what I was thinking. Doesn't sound like a very competent shop to me. Literally a 60 year old farmer with zero electric car experience could have fixed this in 10 minutes or however long it takes to go through the fuses not even knowing what they're for.

    • @celeron55
      @celeron55 3 роки тому

      Having said that, there has to be a reason why the fuse blew. Probably an issue in the wiring harness.

    I hated that car. A million problems, plugged it in for charging, and when trying to drive to work next morning, it wasn't charged
    and didn't move one meter. Using the heater in winter, the electronics went haywire, the battery failed and the sorry-mobile was
    stranded for 6 month at the dealer.. Then the front window cracked during winter, so I Gave it away, for free
