For me, this is the last 'True' Corvette. Manual, frontmid engine, no whee-wheee-wheee, just a cool v8 and a manual transmission. Thanks for recording this.
Looked at a 2019 Grand Sport at our local dealership today - yes - looked at it for 30 whole minutes out of awe at its beauty!! It only has 7k miles on it and was drastically reduced in price!!
As someone who moved on to C6 Vette from FRS, I think you're driving the GS like you would your BRZ (revs don't even need to be that high, unless of course you want it- and that's fine too). Plenty (tons) of midrange torque to get you around those canyons.
That’s my plan!! But wanna jump straight into c7 7MT , I have a 2017 Toyota 86 thats tuned on e85 and want a faster car that handles the same give or take a couple hundred extra pounds
Quick Question @Winding Road Magazine, with the new manual vehicles (2015+), are they much easier to drive? (clutch wise) I ask because I see you take off so smoothly, and when I drove an old car, (1999 honda) It was super hard to find the "grabbing point"
Extremely late and you’re probably well aware of this now, but corvettes are famously easy to drive in manual because they’re so torquey. Actually a great car to learn on.
It's just the price 70k base i want some of the options but for that price i could get the 17zl1 just as good just as fast just as loud so idk man or for a little extra i could get a used zo6 so it's hard to choose
Grand Sport NEEDS A LITTLE MORE POWER. An updated version of the LS7. Especially with the wider wheels, the additional down force requires more Ponies. That's the reasoning behind the TALL SPOILER NOT INCLUDED IN THE ZO7pack. That would make a unique & FAST sports car. N/A 427CID.
@@Dolby109 Not exactly. Living in a crowded metro area, not everyone wants to shift all the time in stop and go traffic. Plus the auto comes with paddle shifters if you want to feel like an F1 driver. I think it's cool that the C7 comes in both manual and auto.
Escape for Mankind is Keith Johnson it doesn't drone at all, pretty much the whole time he was holding it at 3k. If you shifted like normal they are super quiet at low rpms.
Sounds like someone is craving a little lawnmower car rather than a proper sports car. Yes it has the push rods and probably would be more efficient and powerful with the DOHC like Ford's 5.0, but it works just fine and sounds great.
11+ mins of that was way too long. Why didn't you use your PDR so we could see things like speed, shift points, g-force etc? That would have been much more interesting.
You're joking right? The point of the video is to show viewers what it would be like to drive one, the POV of driving one. If you want that stuff there are plenty of other videos that show and tell you that. This is not a review video.

Bought a new 2019 Corvette C7 Grand Sport with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it’s a phenomenal car. Buy one!

A Lamborghini killer at under $50k my man
Please tell me you bought it. Thing is worth a killer now
I love how the video is raw. No bullshit gay ass music, no excitement expressions, etc. Just the viewer, the guy in the video and the car.
Wow, that LT1 V8 sounds glorious! Beautiful scenic drive in a lovely Corvette!
I can't get over how much that car can do, just in 3rd gear!
I didn't even know modern corvettes were still doin manual... it's so good tho
I think the Grand Sport is the perfect corvette. Perfect power and handling! The wider hips look amazing
This is exactly how I would drive it!!
This Corvette is fast and very relaxing
La verrrrraquera! una chimba, esta nave!!!!! good job on filming it ! Felt like I was in it !
Hey i love your videos and the corvette is my dream car! Keep doing !
Actually seems pretty quiet inside when just cruising
I love manual transmission

Glorious 60fps
It should say (7MT) in the title.
+insertNameHere good point. Fixed!
@insertNameHere.......... Is that really necessary if you're paying attention?
Picking mine up this weekend. deep 14% discounts on 17 GS'. Even bigger discounts on the ZO6.
peter primes I hate you :(
And their STILL expensive cars for the select few.
A 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S would be nice to watch in POV. Great video keep up the good work.
Very well done, thanks for that.
That is a sexy as car, the 1969 version is used in the fast and furious.
damn i cant wait for the day i get a vette!
Manual gearbox :3 I love american muscle =)
You are so right :D
This isn't a muscle car chief. Sports car.
It's both lol
modern muscle
love this POV video, which road was this ?
Oh wow nice cat I love it even though it's a test drive 😂😀😀🔥🔥🔥👍👍
Thank You good ride and view of road is good.
Dream car
man this grandsport is no joke
Great video. Was that break squeal at the end and is that normal????
Hey Winding Road, do you prefer the Grand Sport to the Z06 or regular C7?
I love this video. Can I use it in my facebook page and webpage?
Is this manual more fun and smoother to shift than the one in the 2015-2017 Mustang..?
awesome V8 sound!! The camaro doesn't sound the same, why??
fadhel dhifallah if anything they might just tune the exhausts to give them different tones.

Awesome car. I just wish the interior was better.
RsTheJuice401 Nah, its really cheap and tacky.
W-James cool story
RsTheJuice401 Apart from the dash, the seats and the alcantara on the outside of the wheel. Its all plastic.
The upgraded interior with alcantara bits are alright for the price.
Tobi Ogunsanwo You can get a Porsche Boxster for that price and the interior quality is miles better than the Vette.
That’s angeles crest highway for sure

How hard was it to get used to the extra gear and tighter gearbox? Did you ever skip a gear because of it?
Did anyone else notice the yellow Gallardo Superleggera at 10:45 driving by???
Looks like Catalina Highway in AZ.
It’s not
how rev matching works with those paddle?
One paddle turms them on and the other just turns it off. Stupid concept imo but it is what it is.
Matt Carlos they are both on/off switches
I got a rush and I’m not even driving=Gawd yes please🙏🏿
Is this the z07 package?
Were you feeling like you were getting cooked inside of that car because of the over heating issues?
what are the paddles for ? (with a 6MT)
Ferrari Aperta Active rev matching.
thre89 okay !
maybe 5/6 more years!!
Lol that's exactly what I was thinking
It is loud in there. That drone would get old after a while.

Hard to believe someone would say that 460 hp and 400+ lb ft torque isn't enough power..
can I stick this engine in my silverado?
Viren S Depending on the year of your truck. It may already have it inside the bay.
I have a 2010 with the 5.3 vortec
Still a derived vette motor. Only real difference is that your engine is iron blocked while the corvette always gets aluminum.
Servant of JESUS CHRIST can I swap it without breaking my tranny? I've heard of people swapping their engine with an ls7
Servant of JESUS CHRIST
Thanks for the explanation. It did
i thought a C7 is a 7MT?
It is. The paddles aren't for shifting gears in this car. It reads "Rev Match" on them.
lol did you not watch the video at all?

Why the paddles if it's a manual?
Rev Match
wow
Damn.
peoples need to learn how to rev-match themselves. Though the auto rev-match is cool
what is your height
Road is so twisty you barely went past 3rd.
gearing is super tall too.
Shell Casing cuzvz
7.0L v8?
Trey Hearon
6.2

That road is the worse road he could've picked
so they can't make a super car with automatic gearbox
-Mute - not sure what you mean since this and the ZO6 both come in auto or manual
It's still faster than the many more expensive supercars with automatics.
And automatics are for bench racers anyway.
Why the hell would you want an automatic Corvette?
Exactly!

This sound ...
*$93,000 as tested for 2 seats and a NA Push-Rod motor ! BFD*
*That Droning V8 gives me a headache.*
Sounds like you don't like sportscars then...

I just bought one with an automatic. Because of my wife.....
Beautiful except it's yellow.. ugggh!
Those wheels are terrible..... ewwwwwwwww
