    I have no idea what the European enthusiasts are taking about old School technology, the sweet sound of that pushrod V8 is glorious. Love it. I am getting one. Terrific review friend.

    As usual a fantastic review, and I'm really considering this Corvette. I own a new Silverado and a new Impala premium, but I'm definitely considering this Corvette to carve up some roads on the weekend. Thank you for the review once again.

    Nice video and well put together...... am getting my new GS in Feb. with full on ZO7 package, will go nice with my 2015 stingray...... still holding out on the ZO6..... if Chevy decides on the midship vette..... it will blow the super car World into orbit..... fingers crossed they deliver , am sure the bowtie team will do great job

    Hey Brian, great review and love the cuts. Quick question regarding the view, it appears that the front fenders are way to high and if your vision was obstructed at all. it feels that you see a lot of the hood and fenders, compare to other sport cars that give you that full front view with minimal obstruction. thoughts?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  7 років тому +3

      +Omer Duli ha ha! You should try my race cars! You can't see anything out of them! Forward vision is above average in the Corvette, no worries.

    Another quality review. I'm really enjoying this channel.
    This car was right in my wheelhouse lately as I considered it, an M4 w/ comp pack, an AMG C63 Coupe, and a 718 Cayman S. At the end of the day, I chose the 718 Cayman S as I LOVED the quality inside and out and (most importantly) the overall balance of the car. The new car will be a third car, so storage, etc... wasn't as important. Sadly, I would have like to more highly considered the Grand Sport but of the four Chevy dealers I visited, not ONE allowed a test drive of a new C7 (based, GS, or the Z06). A common them from the sales reps was, "sir, we don't allow test drives of the Corvette because Corvette buyers don't like to have any mileage on their cars." Shame on you Chevy, shame.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  7 років тому +1

      Thanks! Typical old school stealership behaviour. You won't be disappointed with the Cayman. Did you catch our 718 Boxster first drive video review? I also drove the 718 Cayman S at the same time, great car.

    • @rdoogie71
      @rdoogie71 7 років тому +1

      Thanks. I caught your review of the Cayman while in Austin along with MotoMan and Matt Farah's reviews. They were all helpful. Please keep up the great work!

      My apologies for the typos and errors. I'm posting via my mobile at the moment. I meant to say I did see your review of the Boxster in Austin along with the Cayman reviews of the other two. Anyhow, it would appear you, me, and Farah see the same barber (so to speak). Ha!

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  7 років тому +2

      No worries, I totally understood. Speaking of typos, I just did one of those - booked entirely the wrong flight. This hair cut is a massive time saver, isn't it? The last barber I visited was in Grand Junction before filming the Flyin Miata. Great bloke.

    For the kind of money they charge for a grand sport you could honestly buy a base to mid level Z06. Might as well just go for the Z06. Your not using all the power on public roads anyway and you don't have to push the engine as hard with all the extra power and torque.
    To each their own but that's how I honestly feel about the grand sport. Nice car overall but you can get the Z06 for not that much more and way more power.

    First time on the channel-great review of the Grand Sport although I'm a bit biased as I got mine in December. Already had it on track and it is amazing. Got it for heavy discount with Heritage pack, black rims with red stripe, PDR (a must for track) for $67 K. Z06 power is too much for the street and most people won't handle it on the track either (kudos to the fee who can). GS is just right and awesome for everyday use except for all those people eyeballing me. Sooo many thumbs up when I drive it. Watkins Glen next

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  7 років тому +2

      +Leslie Izumi it's not faster, but I think it's a more approachable package for the majority of drivers than Z06.

    • @lizmyers469
      @lizmyers469 6 років тому +1

      Leslie Izumi Because nobody needs 650 HP, your tires on a Z06 will last you maybe 3k miles, For a 15k price difference you're better off saving it spending 5k for a Chevy ProCharger and making your GS faster than a Z06.

    C7's look and sound amazing, their Achilles heal is the laggy partial throttle response that is a function of the non-linear throttle programming...significantly takes away from the driving experience...ask me how I know

    • @prazzy4712
      @prazzy4712 7 років тому

      unless they remapped the throttle for the GS and altered the torque management system then it's still there, you just didn't experience it because you were in the higher rpm ranges and mashing the throttle for the most part

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  7 років тому +4

      +Lava Peter Seriously. I drove it for a total of seven hundred miles across Southern California on every kind of road. There are no throttle mapping issues with this car. At which point did I "mash" the throttle? I didn't even do a freaking burnout in this car.

      That's so lame. This car was perfect the entire time.

      The supercharged Z06 had heat issues. The grand sport is naturally aspirated. It doesn't have any heat issues.

      It's highly disenguous of chevy to claim that only 5% of Z06's had the overheating issue - as it's that 5% of owners who actually track their cars. The Z06 is known to overheat when tracked. They remedied this on the new Camaro zl1 by adding 11 heat exchangers. They haven't done this on the z06 yet.
