The last 2 minutes perfectly show why this is not just a sport. It is the whole life, every weekend, together with all your friends, and friends you make. And it is true that airfield partys, especially from gliding clubs, are the best partys ever! Great Video!
I'm a teenager currently and I really want to become an airline pilot. I agree with you, I've had a passion for aviation ever since the first time I flew on a plane, it has always had a special place in my heart.
We're all from different clubs all over the country! But we've got a good community going (check the Facebook page in the description) and we organise loads of events for people to go to throughout the year
haha no:D this is just the noise of the air when flying with high speeds, this is normal ;) and the trail behind them is water which they're releasing, they carried it so the plane is heavier and can go faster, but before landing it's released again;)
+jassthieve - I couldn't think of any either but i'm new to the glider interest so I asked in this video for confirmation from expert glider enthusiasts
alpw1234 yup lol. Just like any other aircraft, you get a CPL and your first job is teaching people to fly the plane you just learnt to fly. Same deal with gliders I assume since someone needs to instruct on them. I would imagine you still need a CPL and CFI though so it would probably be more of a passion then a desired career. Not very familiar with sail planes but it’s definitely on my todo list for aircraft to fly. They look like so much fun once you master finding thermals and can stay up for hours/1000+ miles on a single tow.
+Majdi Hamdi In the US one must have a pilot's license to fly anything, including gliders. However, one does not have to have a medical certificate for them. Jim Foreman CFI-Glider
All of this low passes with high speed and water inside are in my eyes a heavy violation of all security advises we give to new pilots. And filming this with a handheld camera - wow - suicide is near. Sorry, but this are unneeded risks - I lost a friend who thought this is a good finish after competition a flight. He is dead now, RIP.

Great footage, great edit! it shows perfectly junior glider pilots atmosphere! Cheers from Poland!

Aviation is a life long passion. Precisely why I chose being an airline pilot as my profession. And on days off, more flying!!

Thank you! See you in Leszno next year...
Great video. Well edited. Well done!
Beautiful video. I've been above 30,000 feet over 200 times in mountain wave.
Where did you do this ?
I was one of the wave flight instructors at Black Forest Gliderport at Colorado Springs.

6:54-6:56: Are those jet turbines I'm hearing? What model sailplanes are these?
haha no:D this is just the noise of the air when flying with high speeds, this is normal ;)

Just the airflow over the gliders... but these one's do actually have jet turbines fitted! They are JS1's, made by Jonker Sailplanes
hello, I was wondering what kind of jobs are there for glider pilots or are these planes only designed for sport?

@@Alex-us2vw I think you need at least a PPL for these sorts of planes.

Wonderfull :))) Best video :)
I remember flying a glider on X-Plane
after the count down I was expecting a dive bomb.
Great!
3:40 best debriefing ever :))
WOW! NICE!
Unwatchable due to terrible background noise. Don't you have some slip stream sound or something?
