As a CRE driver who just happens to be learning how to model things in Blender (a free 3D graphics program), I have never learned so much about trailers on the job as I have in the last two weeks of wanting to build my own model, and I can't tell you how awesome this video is from my perspective. Not a lot of detail is even in sales brochures. You wanna know how a thing is constructed...go looking for those that have to fix them! 110% quality content right here.
Tip 1: Beware of the 50' tape measure. New side rails are 54'...but you cut them to 52'(+/_) to fit the specific trailer. When you come back from retrieving the saw....make sure you cut the proper 52' mark...and not the 50' mark that you added 24 inches to. Tip 2: Don't get killed. Shops don't look out for you.
I actually used to work for Utility of Lakeland here in central Florida. Have you guys ever considered a shaving blade for a saws all that’s made just for foamed trailers? I think they run about $500 but it leaves no mess and save time as well. 🤙
@computhan14 here are a list of Utility Dealers in Florida that could assist you: www.utilitytrailer.com/dealers?address=Florida&directory_radius=750¢er=&address_type=state&keywords=
Hi Zully! There are a handful of things that we look for, but typically we will replace the full length if there has been a repair to the bottom rail on the other side of the trailer. We also will replace the the full length if the damage is greater than 50% of the total length. Great question. Thanks for your patience! Keep on truckin'!

Also, How many rivets does it take to replace?
Just a few... ;-)
It would depend on the length of the trailer, cross member spacing, and side post spacing.
Highest Ibe seen was 1,290
1,200*
How bad does the damage have to be to require replacement?

@@UtilityKeystone how much would this cost? I walked away from a trailer coz I thought it would cost an arm and a leg to put a new bottom rail
What does this cost?
probably north of 20 grand
Bottom rail is 900. Labor around 14000
Might as well get another trailer for that amount
Try picking the bottom rails and sending them out lol that’s what I do
