Great video. Excellent advice My water pressure dropped and I thought I would need to get a new water softener or at the least get it serviced. I found the injector on my softener and removed it. It was gummed up so I cleaned it and the screen. Now the water pressure has returned to normal. Who would think that a small device with a very small opening would cause the water pressure to drop to almost nothing. Will be running some cleaners thru the system as well.
@@KollynJ Can not remember. Just cleaned the valve with soap and water and some vinegar, used a toothbrush to scrub it. Think I just used a small battle of water softener cleanser, available at a water center or hardware store. Just added it to the salt tank.
Great video! I'm happy you posted this recently as my softener just recently stopped using salt and I'm seeing a definite performance improvement after cleaning the injector.
Hello Gary thanks for the sharing your knowledge on these units. I cleaned the Injectors because my tanks are reading "no salt". But there is salt. After I run a regeneration it reads no salt in tank. How can I remedy this?
You would need to check your manual on how to change the settings or just ignore it. That means absolutely nothing, some brands of water softeners include that to frustrate home owners. I never set that up.
H Gary. I have no suction on the brine line when it is in softening mode. You mention in this video that a clogged injector would cause the brine tank water level to increase. That doesn't happen on my unit. No water moving that I can tell. Is that purely a clogged injector problem, or is that a pump failure? Thanks for your comment.
Hello Mr Gary. I have a Water Right Impression Plus water softener and even though it's set to regen at 3:30 a m , it has been starting at around 11:00 p m the night before. I always make sure that the clock is right and the regen time is at3:30 a m. Can you help me please?
Hey Gary! Love you videos. Not sure if the injectors are my issue, but one side of my dual tank system doesn’t seem to be backwashing, rinsing, or filling properly. During that part of the Regen. it is just very quiet and my salt tank/brine well has no water in it afterwards. Thoughts?
Based on your troubleshooting video and the symptoms, it seems like I have a partially clogged/blocked drain line off the Softener valve. The two drains are connected to a T fitting and drain into a floor drain pipe. The Iron Filter backwashes and rinses loud and strong, so it must be localized to the small part of softener drain or the softener valve itself. Any advice on how to proceed with rectifying this?
When you put the softener on regen mode the timer is counting down. Do you only have so long to do the work before the end of the countdown ? For example, if you want to soak the injector in clr overnight. I hope you understand what I mean
Gary I dont have your water softener , I have kenmore and Im fighting the high water issue or not enough water being taken out on the regen. I have replaced the black gasket in the venturi and and checked and cleaned my float assembly and the valve on the back and have found no blockages. Water is being pumped out the overflow but no nearly enough. Currently water is at least 4-5" above the salt level. Dont know what else I can do.

Is the injector part of the valve? I had a valve replacement one year ago, but earlier this year I started getting extreme salt in my water after regeneration and it's eating salt like crazy. The guy replaced the valve AGAIN a few months ago, but it didn't help. Month after month my guy can't figure it out! I called someone else and all they wanted to do was service the valve that was just replaced. Now there's a lot of water in the brine tank. PLEASE HELP 😢
This week, that elbow piece you disconnected started to leak on mine. There is a white circle on the side of the elbow and water is slowly dripping out of there. I'm assuming that's a pressure relieve or something like that. Any idea what's going on? Can it be fixed or do i need to replace it. If so what part do I ask for?

Thank you much! I have a different brand softener, but this helps me out. We're tasting salty water after the softener runs the previous night, so googling that it sounds like it could be a clogged injector.
@@water_estore nope, that was it, injector was part clogged with some sediment. I really liked how u showed walking the cycle back to default at the end, so it would run as scheduled or that night.
How do you leave it out of pressure if you want to soak the injector for hours? You manually move it out of pressure and it looks it counts down from 8 mins, how do you keep it there for an extended time?
Ok thank you, i just dont want the sewage pump going cause if we not home and it fails it will flood . So at least i can eliminate regen on these for few days

Hi Gary, I have a Fusion2 water softener that looks very similar to the one in a lot of your videos. I have watched many of your videos and was wondering if you have a video or advice on what to do when the resin gets into all the pipes and toilets in your house after the water was turned off because of a pipe leak under the kitchen sink. I hoping to clean the softener and refill the resin. I suspect from reading and watching videos that some membrane broke because of the low water pressure so I'm not sure how to fix that along with the cleaning and refilling the resin. There are lots of videos on how to refill resin but not on how to decide if I need a new water softener or if this is a fixable problem.
There is a riser tube inside the water softener with a basket at the bottom and top. Likely one of those let go. If you replace the defective part and reload the resin it should be fine.
@@water_estore Thanks Gary, you are absolutely right it was the lower basket that was broken and allowed the resin media to pass into all my cold water plumbing in the house. I really appreciate your video as I for one just considered the water softener a mystery that you just put salt into every month. After watching some of your videos I have learned a great deal. Thank you. Tomorrow I'm getting new resin and a new basket and should be back up and softening. I'm doing some of the other maintenance you suggest too since I took the softener apart. Thanks. Ok, so I cleaned the injector, the intake in the water where salt can build up is clear of salt. I am letting it regenerate, it back washed, then went into brine…and it’s filling all the way up again. One thing I noticed is when I took the injector out water was standing under the D cap…
