Ive heard you can soak your carbs in vinegar. That pipe looked like it had a nut to loosen in order to take it off.(couldn't really tell from the vid)Good luck buddy sorry for the bad luck but you might be better off investing in new carbs. Then you know they are good you dont need to rebuild them and wonder if you did it right and no leaks.(I dont know what year yours is but on ebay theres the set that looks like yours for $75.00 right now.Its for an '09) At least you got pretty good spark.
to reiterate and expand on what Harley said: In neutral with the sidestand down: clutch and press START. In gear with the sidestand up: clutch in and press START. A Suzuki (up to the 2016 GSX1000) will NOT start when... You do not pull the clutch in (EVER) - If the sidestand is down while in gear - It was not until recently that I discovered this is not a universal feature on bikes. People look at me funny when I pull the clutch to start non-Suzuki bikes. I claim it on my insurance as an active theft deterrent :-) .
the exact noise i hear at 3:19 is what my 2001 gs500 does every now and then. Primarily when the bike is cold and hasn't been ridden since the night before. I sometimes just keep pressing the start button and it'll turn over, sometimes is stubbornly gets stuck. and idea what's going on? is my starter motor dying? Thx! :)
Hey so what is that lil gold pipe? I just bought a 92 GS 500 for 300 bucks and mine is snapped like that. Tho my bike is far worse off. Any help would be appreciated!
@StrinePCs thanks for clearing that up.

the pipe you broke is actually the choke circut
Not true, you can start the bike with the side stand down. The switch is for if you put it in gear with the stand down it will kill the bike.
How many miles does the bike have on it ? and does it look as if the valves have ever been checked.
