Beverly, girls who have/want babies so young are in emotional need for unconditional love. A girl without strong love and an emotional support from their fathers look for it in other males (boyfriends) and a baby is an emotional tie to the father of the baby. The baby will love its mother unconditionally. It's sad for everyone. No child should be born to fulfill a need.

Anyone know where Shelby lives in this clip? I know it’s south of Glasgow but where specifically? At 51:45 I believe she says it but I can’t make out what she said. Can anyone who has been in that area or live there let me know? I’m genuinely curious
Why? That’s kinda weird asking where exactly she lives....creep
This documentary is over 10 years old
Shelby is not smart got knocked up after
Also those shameful teen moms of course go for big prams don’t need those u get smaller😡 they do not belong on transit
6:03 what level of dysfunction is this?
I can’t put my finger on it, but Amber is really weird. Plus she constantly whispers like a small child. I would expect that from a 4 year old.
36:30 - cause she’s a seventeen year old, OVERWHELMED Young lady-CHILD…. Yes she gotta get it together but urgh I hate seeing struggles lose the last bits of … stability they have in such a volatile socio-economic circumstance BORNE into….
Amber is knocked up she is awful
I wish I could understand half of what she is saying. Documentary makers should put subtitles on Northerner accents?
Cmon dad. You have a beautiful child there in shelby. Be there for her please.
Meanwhile the Queen is dressing in Gemstones and expensive wardrobe complaining about the poor people sleeping in the streets
The Brits need the monarchy,it’s the glue that holds them together in some patriotic illusion. In times of struggle they are firmly convinced their monarch actually cares about them with her/ his carefully crafted public image . Bizarrely, the public is quick to jump on rich politicians though who claim to care for the people.
The queen is dead
Pregnant and smoking is not good at all.
A update on these girls
Where are subtitles?! They are incomprehensible 🤯
They do have strong accents....Bridie's is quite full on with all those "thee and thous" but I love it...it's so old fashioned sounding.
Your not scared on your back
I remember when I stay on my own.i first started with no money and no help. I love the struggle though.make me a better person.
Something I realise is. The problems is when people come in Ur life and mess up for u.
Need to be sure who u can let them in while ure on the journey
And gratefully.
I never pick up smoking/drinking or partying
Save a few.
I can feel the fun seeing them staring out being independent.
They might think it's not fun now
But years down the road. U know better.
And yea. No food is ok. As long as there are ciggies for them. They be alright..😅
budgets & shopping needs2 be taught in early school...
I never understood why these girls want to get stuck with babies so young. That was the furthest thing from my mind when I was their age, and I'm still childless! Just never wanted them.🙄
Beverly, girls who have/want babies so young are in emotional need for unconditional love. A girl without strong love and an emotional support from their fathers look for it in other males (boyfriends) and a baby is an emotional tie to the father of the baby. The baby will love its mother unconditionally. It's sad for everyone. No child should be born to fulfill a need.
And I am commending you for knowing yourself and being true to yourself. Not having children is a choice and if you know you don't want them, then you aren't having kids because of pressure from society. You're awesome!
I believe they get more money from the system.
We are in Brisbane Australia but our 23 yr old son moved to London April this year to work and travel etc.. I've been watching these videos and asking him, what it's like there ( he was in brixton now Wimbledon ) he sees it poverty everywhere, but what I don't get is how is he and his travel mates getting great consistent jobs paid at the same rates as UK citizens and these people can't. And I'm talking all industries from hospitality to teacher aids (no qualifications needed).. construction etc. I feel very blessed Australia had the system we have. Uk is far far behind
Did your child finish high school . I don't think any of the three girls have
To be fair these are 16’17 year olds and this filmed 12 years ago as well
04:30 i dont get it im not english and i am not used to this accent i dont understand
why police came there and took the girl
Bridie breached her bail condition to stay away from the street where her friend lives. The neighbours on the street saw her and called the police to arrest her for breaching the conditions of her bail agreement.

So when they say ‘pound’ the British pound is about $1.26 USD. They can’t afford a pound, but can get cigs?
Bank card doesn't work with an empty account
She had money on it
Smokes are 30 dollars for 20 smokes in Australia.
The biggest motivator for me to quit now. I remember them being less than $10 a pack when I started
Almost $10 a pack here in Georgia...up from $7ish a couple of years ago... more costly in New York etc...
@@sheilabrennan4481 we have crazy tax on them here
@@embily8186 same here..extra . taxation is what has made them so expensive... they keep raising it. Hope to quit myself soon. Were you able to go cold turkey or did you use some kind of assistance to help you stop smoking. I have been wanting to stop for years... been smoking for decades
@@sheilabrennan4481 I keep falling back in unfortunately. My next step is going to get a script for champax.
I haven't found standard nicotine replacement therapy helpful yet, so I'm hoping a prescription helps.
I've tried going cold turkey countless times, it never works for me
Shelby is mature for her age and a keeper for who ever has her.
There should have been stated in the description that this was filmed back in 2012...
Over 14 years ago.... The world was a totally different place.
It's a shame they did not credit some of the charities helping these kids.
I thought I was watching Daisy's sisters from downtown Abbey. I swear there must be a lower class gene that's passed down. Education is free in the UK plus NHS yet still live and speak like in a Dickens novel. It's the same here in Canada only its much easier here to live.send them to america my parents home for a year in the former colony. They would be crying.
See midwife says no smoking
I feel for Shelby, it seems like she’s actually trying.
It was filmed 12 years ago, and these been no update since 2014
13:46 smoking whilst being pregnant is tantamount to murder.
Yes I think I had to watch this
I swear that mum is just Tom Hardy in a bathrobe
A "charity" got her a position where she works 30 hours and makes the same as the dole? Sounds like a slave labour scam.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
really takes the meaning out of the saying "it could be worse, you could be Scouse, eating rats in a council house"
30:00 Woah. I miss my mom watching this next scene.
❤❤
Shelby looks like an actress
Stop saying like
There should be a law against selling cigarettes to pregnant women.
She finally gets money and she buys a $100 rug??? No wonder she’s broke. That could have bought a lot of groceries
I’m sympathetic. Found it ironic she Waited for a cooker to make soup by boiling things… which can be done in a microwave.
Pull up pants Amber no part of that uncovered
Why are all these girls expecting babies and not working? I worked up to 5 days before I delivered.
I don’t even understand her. I speak English.
You fink she talks funny, eh?
I don’t understand people in the southern US and I speak English! 🤦♀️
*This video is way too old, this came out back in 2012 year, many years passed and TODAY its a 3 of 5 teens claim, England has comedors today for people tho poberty is increasing*
Not sure when this was filmed but it's like a trip back 30+ years ago in terms of attitude. In Australia the teenage birthrate is now about 2%, smoking is frowned upon by most and most young people aim much higher in terms of jobs and career. Even our lower socioeconomic communities seem better than these people.
ive heard this is 10+ years ago
.
I envy them for being English speakers, they could make a whole lot of money in our country by speaking plain stuff
Social worker was pretty.
