- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- Imagine that you have never ever done a blindfold simul in your life. How many opponents would you choose to play against? Most players would choose 3-4 opponents. But not Arjun Erigaisi. The 19-year-old talent from India played against 8 opponents at the QuantBox Office. It was a thrilling simul where Arjun was put under great pressure by his opponents. He couldn't recollect the positions often, he faltered, he learnt on the go and got better. Check out the video to find out what was the score at the end!
QuantBox is Arjun's sole sponsor. They have sponsored him to the tune of Rs.12.4 crore (US$1.5 million) for 5 years! This was the first time that Arjun visited the QuantBox office in Bangalore.

With so much noise and chaos going around, playing blindfold chess on 8 boards with 1. D4 everywhere is nothing but amazing
playing D4 In every board is -.-.**- no way a human being could handle that unless it's some crazy guy with great great memory and experienced in blindfold chess!
Why? Whats so unique or so complicated to remember, with D4 openings?
@@rakid123 In blindfold chess you typically want to make the openings as different as possible. Starting with the same move, lowers the possibility of that.
14:52 this is brilliant by Sagar here, you can tell Arjun was struggling and this made him feel alot better :)
20:12 every chess player's first reaction when they get to know the rule for first time😅
bruh that's the basic move. you are not a chess player if you don't know about En passant
Google en passant @@IndoOuto
@@IndoOutoyess 1000 elo but don't know en passant.😂
These all seem to be 400 elo players
Indian youngsters are truly becoming top players. He's not just a GM but a super GM. Another youngster Gukesh is already a super GM and just behind Anand in India. Truly amazing time for Indian chess.
Arjun is simply amazing, it's incredible to watch him play. and it's truly unbelievable that he is only 19, I'm sure he is going to achieve (even more) great things, wish him the best!
Congratulation Arjun on all wins 🙌 I'm glad he was able to recover after that confusion at the start, also i would like to mention that i do not appreciate chaotic environment of the room otherwise good job cameraman and editor 👍
This gives you a new appreciation for Paul Morphy's achievement in beating eight of Europe's strongest players in simultaneous games BLIND, at Cafe de la Regence in Paris, in September, 1858.
Morphy was truly a genius. Highly underrated.
@@kartikeyasharma6558 morphy practiced a lot of blindfold. arjun will get there
Arjun is a master!!
Way to go for the Indian youngsters
bhai grand master not master
Srinath making movies.. Great.. He has been pillar of Indian players and doing lot of positive things in the back ground.
I have seen Arjun beating super GM's in blitz portion with flat heart rate. He can handle pressure very well. He is humble. He is quick. He is future champ, Classic/Rapid/Blitz/Bullet that time will decide but he is gonna be WC one day for sure.
e Gukesh? Faustino Oro?
I think getting used to Magnus's antics has spoiled us all XD...Magnus sees positions like we see colour, we can't expect other GMs to do the same, even if they're as good as Arjun. Amazingly done by Arjun to get through all that pressure!
this arjun guy is good ...he should definately play in some FIDE rated tournament i honestly think....
Lolz..is that a joke? He has already played many FIDE tournament….and he is now world #3…
@@PEACE_LUVRofc its a joke bro
This is so insane.... That words can't even...describe it...... There are 32 pieces on a chess boards and 64 squares.... How can a human being figure out all the pieces and their position and tactics in their mind... I cant remember even 1 board... How can this guy do this with 8 boards 😱😱😱 just goosebumps for normal human being like me
@akhandbharat9658 But magnus played 20 different openings to remember each boards. While Arjun played the same d4 move for all 8 boards. There is a difference.
20:10 En passant moment 🤣🤣
😂😂😂
He never heard about that before lol😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I think he should've first prepared for blindfold with 3-4 boards so that his mind could've get used to this pattern and wouldn't get confused about boards. I understand he is a GM but still doing blindfold for the first time and that too with 8 boards is kind of too much 😓
He has already beaten 8 boards. So why you talking backwards that he should prepare 3 to 4 boards?
Its not about number of boards. The first blind simul step is to play distinctly on all boards so as to remember each boards separately. Arjun mistake is he played d4 in all boards so no clear distinction. For eg. Magnus once played 3 blind boards and played c4,d4,e4 respectively.
Now arjun is top 3 and just 5 points away from top 2 hikaru
idk how can he remember so much dude i cant even do it with 1 board
One thing is for sure, his cognitive skill is quite sharp !! Appreciate it a lot !
How could he stay in his zone and for one second not yell at the room to STFU for a bit! I'm literally getting irritated while trying to follow these games via the video due to them being so noisy!! Very disrespectful of the croud whereas such a marvelous display from Arjun. Beyond human abilities for real!
He was WR 30 then, now he is WR 3, exponential growth shown by him. Just unbelievable!!!
The crowd did amazing job to prove they dont deserve him at all ... there is no respect or decorum ..
Arjun is so humble man...anyone except him whould have shouted on all the unnecessary people who are disturbing the environment.
Hilarious @53:45 :D!! He thought Arjun made a mistake only to realize that he missed the pinned bishop :D!!
Sagar is so Helpful. He should try this.
Arjun and Vidit are two my favourite Indian Chess Players
No words to tell about this.wat a fantastic and amazing game by arjun ❤🎉proud moment ever 🥰🥰🥰
Incredible Arjun .....I love the game of Arjun, and Attitude of "Gukesh"❤
I heard Magnus did it but I never seen his video, but to see Arjun's , is amazing and thrilling
@@curio78magnus also played with grandmaster not just normal players
@@omedits569no magnus did that 10 board blindfold simul with normal players only. Magnus is not a mythical creature who can beat 10 gms blindfolded in a simul. Use your brain.
Absolute genius!!
Amazing...How he memorize each position in 8 boards👍👍👍
Very humble ,nice person 👍
Huge respect increase for Erigaisi and Sagar both...
Uff he is being arjun in every sense
Gandivdhari Arjuna was called Gudakesha the one who conquered sleep
That is he can shoot even at nights / blinded foldedly
And here he again proves him name
Brilliant!! Simply a genius!!
1:22:59
Opponent: Thodasa aur khelte hai
Arjun be like: Mate in 1, ab khya khelna hai?
Que no se pierda está fantástica costumbre de los grandes maestros de antaño
I dont think rating of playesr was between 1000 to 1400... but hats-off for 8 blind-fold simul. Saw only Magnus doing that against 3.
Gareyev did it against 48
Magnus has done it against 10 opponents
Vidit and many other grandmasters have done it before. Even levy (Gothamchess has done it against Botez sisters though only on 1 board). But 8 boards is damm tough.
@@absidyabsidy2727That was over many hours. If you give Arjun 1 day he also can
@@dniendkdksmd27839 definitely not, he was having a ton of trouble remembering 8 boards. Doesn’t matter how much time you give him, he definitely would not be able to do more
Arjuna- forgetting which board I am ? 😂
unbelievable, boom for arjun. Keep shining...
Just Amazing!!!
Imagine we cannot play a single game with this much accuracy without blindfold.
Why YT recommended this after winning Gold 😂 Scary
They don't understand the gravity of Indian chess, they seem like it's some exhibition and fun activity, no respect for arjun, just because chess isn't cricket it doesn't mean sponsors behave such
Amazing. Can't even imagine how its possible.
Probably one of the greatest thing I've ever witnessed in my life 💥
I THINK...THIS TIME IS GOLDEN ERA STARING IN INDIAN CHESS
World should know that in Telugu language there is something called Avadhanam, minimum is like ashtavadhanam where 8 members will be posing questions from different topics and the person must remember each one of them and in those questions one is to keep a table structure in memory and one of the person keep tellig one letter each time in middle of the discussion and one will be trying to distract the person with random questions , and in this chaos the performer should have mapping for all the peoples and their questions and the status of each question in brain. There is more advanced level of these contests like Shathavadhanam in which 100 people will be asking random questions on differnt topics and also ask you a problem in language for which you have to answer with a well formed poem. and there is also a sahasravadhanam where 1000 people will be asking questions. Every person who achieves success in these are genius. I remembered that when watching this video.
arjun plays blindfold most of the time even during a regular match. this is no big deal for him. the noise here is distracting. the clocks were just placed but not used. and the arbiters need to announce moves correctly.
what a legend......bravo
I have never been able to do 2 simultaneous. And Arjun is doing 8. And I am sure if he practices a bit he can even go till 15-20. No big deal for him
15-20 is imbossible bro
1:09:02 Arjun blundered his Queen but his coach who moved the pieces refused to make that move......lol .🤣🤣🤣good team work
Given each player had at least 2 others with opinions.. it's like he won blindfold against 24 people !!
Congratulations 🎉🎉 arjun
The noise is too much
I mean the man has 8 games going on in his mind at the same time
1:09:17: Arjun was reminded that opponent's pawn was on c3. That's illegal-defeats the spirit of the simul. He then made a different move. If you're going to allow that then what was the point of the simul?!
I mean it was already clear long before that moment that Arjun is having difficulty with this whole thing. Using a notebook defeated the whole point of playing blind. I guess they didn't want to end it abruptly so they just went with it.
@@this_rishi Fully agree.
Come on dude he easily could have won without wasting a second if there was proper environment, and 1 game of prior experience
It became illegal as soon as people making so much noise, people helping players, people taking back there moves and many more. This was not a simul with proper environment, no proper arbiters, so for his first blind simul I think we can ignore one move.
Amazing Arjun arigaisi sir
He just remembers the Magnus blind folded games…🎉🎉🎉
Amazing...wow!!!
from world no 30 to world no 3 in an year☠
I am impressed other than this is blindfold against 8 players he is also playing against noisy crowd
God. How can these GM remember so much? How do they practice it
They use a notebook lol
People in comments without having watched the entire thing: *Mind blown*
Meanwhile: 7:30
Meanwhile the person who is commenting don't know what is chess
It was his first time to do blindfold.
You don't know how to encourage started spitting.
@user-yq9pm9eq9d It was him who overestimated his capabilities by choosing to play blindfolded, because he didn't have to. And I'm just blatantly pointing out something factual without making anything up.
He forgot the position on a board, just 4 moves in, which shows the clear overestimation of capabilities.
Why do I owe encouragement for a failed trick?
He clearly got cocky by choosing to do this blindfolded when he had no reason to do so if it was his first time doing it. I reiterate. Clearly!
@@Eclogite-lw5ye And this is called baseless judgement, while I just pointed out something factual.
He reached world No.4 Position now 🔥🔥
This is really great for our Indian guys to achieve blindfolded feet. It was amazing. Congratulations to the Erigasi. ❤❤❤❤
Real king 👑👑
Insane & unimaginable
Wonderful.... Can we get the game moves/notations of all 8 games ? It would be very helpful....
Arjun doesnt look at the board when playing anyway 😂
Hats off to Arjun!!!!!!!!
Hats off to srinath too😅
What a selfless guy
There are so many people around and so much noise and disturbance. Unacceptable arrangement from whatever this company quantbox is
bro was built different

no words for the champion!!
Super brother 😍❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌

Arjun on the thumbnail looks like mechanical pandey
He will be like magnus 😮😮
now he's number 4 i think
Now no.3
@@sohelsonkar5243 soon number 1
I did not anticipate to play all boards same move and after that I did not anticipate that he would mess up in the fourth move, so early.
Please also mentioned other players name and rating in description so that we understand it better...
Genius!
Srinath op when b3 happened in board 2😂😂😂😂😂😂
Respect.
This is Amazing,
how does he remember so many positions
What is the elo of those players?
It's so infuriating to watch these people, they don't deserve to experience Arjun's brilliancy, they don't know the rules, they make so much noise, they question the rules, they talk so loudly, so much disturbance !! Do they have any respect for a chess player? No chess player should ever interact with this quantbox company. Ever !!!
Nice.. can be improved next blindfold game...👍😊
❤Arjun
Bro superb❤❤❤
I have seen blind fold matches of Gary Kasparov,Magnus Carlsen and others....organisers and audience in those matches follow pin drop silence and discipline; wth is happening here...such a pathetic organisers shouting passing jokes like a picnic...
Maintain silence in chess matches specially in blindfold matches.
It's not about the noise I think Arjun could handle that but it's about D4 it's completely insane to play it on all boards if you played blindfolded before you would know!
@@aminesosa8676 Arjun can handle or not is secondary...there must be proper decoram in a chess game....this kind of organising is pathetic..they are shouting in a chess game.. organizers themselves are making chaos.
What was the score in last?
What was the score?
8 wins for arjun
Can all super gm do blind chess?
There should have been total silence. Its a serious matter. Respect chess and its topmost players. Don't make kiddish noises while an artist is at work.
1:02:15 first resigns
1:21:50 black could win in 2 moves , Rh1 check
26:11. Someone blows the move to Erigaisi. 🗣️Bishop C to H6 🤦🏻
