Have you fished below the damn in Algonquin at the water plant? There is a park and public fishing and the smallmouth fishing in the spring and summer is off the hook! Not to mention the walleyes and BIG fish runs! The crawdad crank baits in current spots and top water flukes will work really well in that area. When the water is lower wade out to the middle and cast across in most of that shoreline the other side is pretty deep so the big smallies are hanging out there. My biggest Fox River smallie is 6.3 pounds. And it was caught at the water plant
check out Buffalo park in Algonquin, Juicy smallie spot, but can be deader than a door knob on some days. it's just luck if they're in that portion of the river.
#1: thats not the Carpenterville dam. #2: if you guys think those fish are big, you obviously have never seen big fish like 20-100 lb carp and cats. and those small mouth bass are babies. LOL.
He's on the west side of the dam, the east side is prohibited from public for some reason. Naturally the east side is better . I have caught at least a hundred smallies at this dam.
ao digital exactly always someone wetting a line there. I will be next year, haven’t made it to this spot yet, and I drive by it everyday haha. I just moved to Cary in June
Gotta love the guy telling you to use a bobber....as you hook as fish without one. Lol

Yes. Snag city but still fun.
And that is where this video was taken.
@@rick_r2this spot is good? I always go here but NEVER catch anything
Yes. Lots of debris and can get easily snagged. But if you like cats, it’s one of the best areas.
@@rick_r2 you’re at the damn. Go down further to the power plant public park. Wade out and cast across into the deep parts.
Texas rig senko. Never fails.
Oh lord no one was there now theres a million people fishing for catfish with like 20 rods😑
Yeah sadly the place got ruined 😔

I caught a 16 pound catfish in that river
Can you tell me some good spots on fox river for cats. Thx
Take the time to tell us what you’re using and what technique you’re doing
I mostly used a Ned Rig bouncing it off the bottom.
Watch the video; it’s a Ned Rig.
I fish the fox in Geneva and always have so many problems. It’s really shallow and lots of snags and usually do pretty bad
Wade!
Nice fish...
What place is this???
Thats a White bass you caught at minute 5:00. I catch tons of those in that same spot. Great spot
Danny Aguirre it was not straight white bass. Could have been a hybrid otherwise it was most likely striper
@@colinjamen2328late reply, but its a white bass not a striper or hybrid, I fish there too and there is no striped bass on the fox river.
@@adriankubik6425 how do you get to the spot where he is in video. im from illinois

The video starts at Carpentersville dam but for some reason he cuts to fishing at the dam under Algonquin Rd.(rt.62) in Algonquin, IL.
