Another PAUPER VEEEEDEO! I'm a big fan of your support for the format. Creating a playlist of a wide variety of decks so people can view a history of what the game and meta is like is really important to many players. Thank you! Though I know that the other (more expensive) formats are more popular with fans of MTG (for example, I have 4 modern decks) it can be quite difficult to convince players of non-mtg tabletop games to give Magic a try. Ever since the Lord of the Rings set, people who are not very familiar with the game always think MTG is a game where a single card for your deck has to cost two million USD. I know that in reality it isn't that bad for Modern/Pioneer, but when you tell them it costs a at least two hundred dollars and maybe more to buy a deck in that format, they usually just say they'll never play. The fact that pauper is a format where every deck is a comparable price to an expansion pack for a tabletop board game makes introducing it to new players much easier. Rares & Mythics are cool and all, but if you don't have players you can't run events! That's really the biggest hurdle to something like Modern for a lot of tabletop game stores, at least in my area.
I love this deck and it's now my main choice. So fun and performant. Anyway, I find very difficult the matchup against BG Garden, it would be good to see how you deal against it!
I really hope they won't ban glitters. It evolved the metagame and allowed for more aggro decks instead of having a format that was populated only by combo-control-midrange decks (unless mono-red, thank you for the variety, wizard). I recognise it's very strong in the UW glitter with gingerbrute, but if a balance is needed, I'd ban the latter one. That would allow aggro players to play something that's not only mono-red, while avoiding the 3 mana fatal combo of the UW version of the deck.
Great Veedeo! What's your opinion on playing Abraded Bluffs (the desert dual that deals 1 damage to the opponent on ETB) to help with the incidental damage instead of the gainlands? Or are the latter better for stabilizing against the aggro decks?
I really didn’t like the glitterless version of this deck, but with it I’ve had a lot of fun. It feels like a mid-range deck that can steal games sometimes.
