Ran into this out of nowhere, if you're still here, how did you find the IDs, or can you point me in the right direction to learning how to get them? The article doesn't particularly cover it.

Hey Garrett! Impressive video! I've just started with simracing and have an old mini rev counter (2007). I was wondering if you could share some details like pin layout or how you've hooked up the device. I am planning on using an arduino to interface with the device. Hopefully you can publish some of the details online. Really appreciate it and keep up the good work!

This is really cool stuff! Would be interesting to see how to implement this onto a standalone ecu like the LINK ecu. See if you can read from a actual oil temp and oil pressure gauge and some how get the crono pack to talk to it?

I've already done that using a Defi sensor and some ghetto software. ua-cam.com/video/Xk_D8Wn9Sts/v-deo.html
Same could be done with pressure pretty easily, and is even easier to integrate with an aftermarket EMS like the Link if it supports CAN.

Can you share your CANBUS message ID findings? It looks like you have a few more than are detailed in the reverse engineering articles I’ve found.

Hi Garrett ! I've acquired a counter like yours a couple of weeks ago. I'm trying to make the display turn on by injecting 12 volts but it doesn't work. Could you share some details about pinouts and CAN ids ? Thanks

On 03 ews, do you know the values that goes to the dme to unlock and give it permission to run the car. ?

super impressive! pls tell me that you now can easily connect the hacked gauges to a racing sim to drive the needles from there?

Define easily? I'd say so if the sim easily outputs vehicle speed/rpm etc for you to use with external apps. Wouldn't be hard to code that up at all!

Old video - but I hopre you're still there. The oil temperature is not actual temperature, but based on a calculated model - do you know if this is the same with the oil pressure? (The EPC does not show any oil pressure sensors, just an oil pressure switch)

      I am still here!
Yes, the oil pressure is fake as well. The gauge physically cannot move fast enough to replicate an actual oil pressure seen in vehicle.

Zero links, zero PIDs, just bragging?
