This is a 06 S500. 06 was the last production year for the S500. In 07 the S550 came out. This car is S500 with AMG sports package. I own a 05 S500 with the same sports package. It is for sporty looks. The sports package does not include an engine upgrade. So no it is not a true AMG like the S63, S55 models. But he is factually correct and not trying to b.s. anyone. The price of $25k was fair for the condition and mileage back in 2011 when the video was made. There is nothing phony in this video. If you owned a S class you all would know. There are many features he left out because to show them would take much more time. Look at these walk through videos then go shopping.
This car is a amg from the mercedes benz dealership. See some of them just come with the amg sports package meaning body kit and badge but not the motor and other upgrades if this was a true amg it would say amg in the instrument cluster and have the amg engine! I know I own a 2006 s55 amg supercharged kompresser and I researched these cars deeply before I bought mine!!
Its not fully loaded. Your missing distronic rear seat package, and lots of other stuff. BTW That car is a S500 with AMG package. Meaning AMG wheels AMG body kit, but no AMG engine. You "only" have a 4.9L V8, not a 5.8L V12. AMG was an independent tuner but Mercedes acquired them to be a tuner for Mercedes cars. Top of the line for a W220 is the S65 amg, or S600 if you exclude the AMG's Top of the line for the W222 is the S600 Maybach or S65 AMG.

For all of these people saying that there is n 2006 w220. You don't know what your talking about . I OWN A MERCEDES 2006 S55 AMG SUPER CHARGED V8 kompresser. Also all the S class W220 bodies are the same size , only difference is engine size and the amg package comes on some models!! Oh yeah AMG is the best mercedes makes!!

That AMG is just an emblem added as an accessory to the car. It also cannot be 2006. The W220 was only made till the end of 2004.

Dude the W220 was in production until 2006, that's when the W221 was out. Now the W222 is out. I really would not recommend this car though, its a W220 the quality is kinda of bad, Mercedes's quality dropped exponentially when they merged with Chrysler, hince DaimlerChrysler. In the W221 Mercedes got their shit together and made a sonderklasse, how it was supposed to be made.

theres 2 type of AMG ..for example,S500 AMG which means (S500 with only AMG exterior accessories) and theres S55 or S63 AMG which means (full AMG sport pack including AMG engine,interior and exterior accessories..etc.)
@piloty5 they also have and S350 a short wheel base , but i think they only made them in Euro
there is s55 amg and s600 the v12 but i think your right its just a mod he did

first of all this isnt an amg. its an s500 with AMG PACKAGE. and s600 is the top of the line s-class if you dont take the AMG models in concern:)
S65, S63, and S55 are amg built, this S500 has a amg option package - all cosmetics, no added performance.

also s55 amg before 2003 are not superchaged so they are 360 HP and up 2003 are 493 HP superchaged s55 amg so NOW you know
NO , I drive an s-class and yes there is w220 s600 it is NOT an amg BUT it had an V12 engine !!!! also s55 amg do exist and model after 2003 are realy powerful with almost 475 hp superchaged V8

1-st it cant be 2006 unless it`s executive VIP custom... cause the W220 are produced until 2005. 2-nd AMG is not topline Brabus,Hamman end etc. are.And 3-rd the S600 is the biggest not S500.But besides it`s a very nice car you got there

the w221 started in 2006 they even can be found a few induviduals from 2005 but i bet there is no w220 from 2006

Okay, two things wrong with this car that I need to point out, not being rude or anything, but:.
1. First off, take off that stupid AMG badge, doesn't help the car with performance or looks, it only makes your car look ridiculous and dumb.
2. Second, if you want to buy an AMG, either do one of two things 1. Buy a REAL AMG built from the factory or 2. Buy an AMG package which includes everything, but the stupid faux badge.

+GameBreakersHD there is a difference between a AMG Mercedes model and then AMG package on a model. This is simply an S 600 with an AMG package it's not an actual AMG. Has a simple rims and body kit from the AMG without the AMG motor.
