Very sensible review. I had some more things to ask about SM650 1) you mentioned rear suspension smoothens out over time. Ok well and good. I was looking at an alternative rear suspension. Only found something called Hagon (there is a teambhp ownership review). But that costs about 50k. Currently have you seen any other rear suspension replacements? 2) i found the forward foot pegs too forward in my test drive (i will get used to it). However have you found any after market solution to make them move back a little. (Weird thought I know😅) 3) Have you tried any weight reduction or seen any owner do it? I plan to remove the center stand on day 1. But cant think of anything else. May be change exhaust to something more light weight in the long run 4) and have you had the issue of scraping exhaust pipes while cornering? 5) city commuting heat is manageable?

Thank u so much for honest explanation. I own Super meteor 650 top Model and I am very clear that this bike is not for complex roads. I will take Himalayan on such roads. Hi, I'm planning for a new bike confused in between himalayan 450 and Super Meteor 650. I know it's odd to compare an ADV with a cruiser. I'm receiving different opinions from friends and family. Requirement: 1. Need a bike for family of 3(Me,wife and a baby)- received comments that himalayan pillion seat height space will be bit difficult for wife and baby. Suggested super meteor celestial variant as seat is wider than other two and backrest is provided. 2. Very minimal off road use. More city and highways. - Suggested super meteor since it's good for highway rides. 3. Looking for daily commute to office and home. - bit sceptical about engine heat in city traffic and heard that meteor chainspoket and back breakpads doesn't last morethan 3k kms. Appreciate your suggestion/Opinion. Thanks in Advance 😊
See. Super Meteor is very much mod friendly (you can make it bagger . Chopper. Customize is as per your need . Pillion: I don't find any bike as pillion friendly as charm of riding a motorcycle alone is next level . With kid I won't suggest you to ride on a bike (trippling) .it's very risky . 1. RE 1st set of bikes always has some issues .even himalayan will get issues and we will see that in next 2 months. Bust these issues are not a deal breaker (not a major issue few minor one ). Now moving to your choice : 1.If you are frequent mountain rider then you should go for himalayan . 2. If highway is your style of riding then both bikes are equally fun to ride. 3. City ride I personally feel super meteor has better road presence and can be taken out for office and some drinks . 4.himalayan however looks like you are always going for a tour . (Looks better with proper gear and all). 5. Go and take test ride for both bikes . (I lobe cruiser as it suits my style of riding and personality) . Test ride will make everything clear .
Hey I just saw your video.. I am planning to buy it.. please help me with your review.. with the bike. As it's been a long that you have posted this video

Whats your height ? Actually I have ridden harley breakout and other big cruisers as well . So my finding is this super meteor is good for a guy with height 5.10 to 6. Guys with less height must install handle extenders so that riding position becomes very normal . For Harley breakout even 5,10 height is less. Moving on . A general arc on back comes when you ride a Cruiser and if an unexpected bump comes then the issue arrise as your body is not upright. I WOULD SUGGEST 1. GIVE TRY to handle bar extenders. 2. Once you see a bump try to become upright ASAP. 3. For greater Bumps I actually stand for a sec or 2 .(you can see that in review video. 4.I bought zana backrest and it's such an amazing product . Very relaxed body posture . . So solution will come as per your height and weight
Great.... Thank you so much for your help. It's very helpful for me. Sure. I'll definitely try to handle bar riser. By the way for a comfortable seat what do u suggest- modify existing tourer seat OR buy air/gel/honeycomb external cushion?
First of all it was a pleasure to hear you all through the video bhai. I just wanna ask if I want to purchase this bike, then what things should I consider most while checking during test drive. I am not very well informed about bike's anatomy but i heared some re sm650 customers faced some issues like their bike's handle is tilting to one side, water is spilling inside engine while wash, chain problem etc. Please provide me some knowledge so that i can spot out any problem while test drive and have some peace of mind. Great video and beautiful landscapes btw. Waiting for your reply sir.
Being a power cruiser at this price range you are left with this option only at around 4 lac. It’s a gem of a machine with amazing road presence and amazing riding pleasure . Things you should consider : 1. Issues will come as it’s a Royal Enfiel. 2. Spare parts are easy and nothing to worry about . 3. Most important is be personally present for PDA (pre delivery inspection) as during this time chances of any dent is more while logistic . 4. RE team is very supportive and better then dealers so always contact them in case of any issue . Best of luck for your purchase .
@@motomoksh btw sir it's my first time I got to know the meaning of logistics. Before I thought it was a similar word of logical or statistics. Heck of a fool I am🤣🤣 plz don't tell anyone 🙏🙏😂🤣
thanks bro for sharing so useful information!! I m planning to have one ( used or new) SM interstellar but i m very confused about it seat . I m not sure if is very comfortable for a long ride and for a pillion rider also. So should i opt to replace with seat that of SM celestial . Pls suggest . Thanks
Glad I could help . I didn’t find issue with rider seat but yes pillion seat is really uncomfortable. So if you are riding with pillion then opt for touring seat else no issue
If you're riding doubles on SM650 Celestial your bum starts pinching and you will feel like sinking down the seat. So, you've to get off the bike and adjust yourself 5-10 mins and then continue the ride for another 1/1.30 hr. Same goes for pillion rider who starts feeling uncomfy after a while due to not so good rear side suspension. But, single ride on SM 650 is a charm as you can breeze through 100+ like it's nothing and you feel like relaxing on a couch while riding. Happy & Safe ride :)
Same engine but different characters. Continental gt : most fun to ride and best design (authentically pleasing ) Interceptor :little less initial punch then continental gt and better upright position (those who find it difficult to ride a cage racer ) Super meteor 650: pure riding pleasure power delivery is more leniear and less aggressive
From Italy. I'd like to undestand all pros and bads . Why not english subs? RE Is having big sales also in Europe, your experiences would be very precious. I own a super Meteor since 2000 km and had only a problem with a sudden switch off maybe because of too low RPM while I was asking lots of Nm riding uphill. Maybe. A RPM meter would help much more than a tripper! Does anybody have had similar experience?
UA-cam didn't give option to add English subtitles. Most of us didn't face any such issue of sudden switchoff (we have a super meteor rider group on WhatsApp) I can add you as well if you DM me your number on Instagram (Spike_paul) . And yes rpm reading should be present but it's not
It's was launched on 16th jan 23 .I booked on 17th jan 23 and got delivery in last week of March. At present you will get it delivered in 2 months for sure
Based on my experience of riding air cooled engines above 650 cc ( 650 .iron 883 and 1800 cc ) . It is heating very normal just don't wear shorts and ride . Quite manageable and enjoyable in winters
Any naked bike design will have terrible heating issues with higher cc engine because engine is completely exposed and naked between your thighs unlike fully faired bikes where you feel the heat in your ankles mostly. The average car out there has 1000 cc engine which gets so hot that no one dares to touch it until it cools down, so what do you think will happen when a 650 cc engine is resting between your thighs?? It's bound to make you feel uncomfortable , there's a reason why scooters were invented. You don't need a clutch and over heating engine always, there are times when a simple low cc scooter acts more convenient ( bumper to bumper traffic ).
650 any day to actually enjoy riding pleasure and that extra punch . 350 is good if you are mileage conscious and mainly do city riding . 650 is a fun to ride in highways

One big n one small meter console luks very ugly ...You are the first one who echoed my very first impression of the bike ... Ganda dikta hai ganda lagta hai wen compared to the TBX 350 dual symmetrical meters .. I just bought my SM650 ...astrall black fully loaded accesories worth 60k.. i got the windscreen covered with black vinyl wrapping to cover the ugly lukn big n small meters.. Tracker actually helps as theft alert device ..if its tuned n syncked properly with your phone ... As soon ss ignition gets on your phone gets notified ..also location of the bike ..you can keep checkng wen parked .. And the company designed paniers luk so wonderful ..you will fall in love with your bike ...they are expensive .at 24k. They must provide spares of paniers if dey get damaged ... Regarding ethics wat you said is true ... They have made this design decision with fully loaded accesories.. only den it gets the luk of an expensive cruiser ...may be to cut cost n make available at lower price they have removed or redesigned a economical version ...even the foot pegs cost you 5700/-.. but only then you get that grace of a premium bike ...costed me 5lac ...with out the modified exhaust. n i dont intend to change any time sooner.sahi hai jo gadi ke saat aayi hai
You are absolutely right . I also accessoried it fully with almost every accessories possible .I waited for these panniers for so long and at the end bought trip machine leather panniers (which gives retro look ) .bought a sissy bar from auto engina which is best available design and is very good quality.waiting for a 12 inch ape hangers to compete the look . Do share you motorcycle picture would love to see . Insta id @spike_paul
I'm also a proud Owner of SM650 and definitely this ain't perfect but still it's a huge VFM and overall best 650CC bike in India. I loved and agreed with all your point and I personally feel like they should have provided the console (a lot bigger) like they have implemeted on the new Himalayan 450 and Tripper is such a joke I showed it to th service center guys I was at SVC and I try to navigate their adress being there it was showing me to drive 2.1Km 🤣even 1 SVC guy started laughing and said isne to kuichh aur hi nasha kiya hai lagta hai... Meanwhile bro wasnted to ask about the Spark plug I also saw previously some people posted they got replaced for free but here SVC said they have no updates on it so, can you tell me was this update meant for every bike or only to some? And also for Chain sprocket by odo is almost 7800km now till now I didn't faced this issue but I'm worried it'll come sooner or later and as me and every SM owner was waiting for the solution they bluntly launched SG650 without any updates on Sprocet I have heard people saying that has been resolved in SG650 and same chain sproket can be kater installed in SM650 and it won't create this issue but still more than a year now an Official statement would have been nicer. Also I wanted to ask don't you got issue with brakes? Many people claimed they got completely warn out in 5-6k km mine got at around 7500km and damn they are a lot expensive I was like whattt?? That much? Even Meteor's brake pads is like peanuts infront of SM I don't know why they are charging soo much for them and I got after market Brake pads (both R&F) and costed me around 2200/- with shipping and they are I can say 90-95% as OEM.
I also have a funny incident with trip navigator and I think 1. With direction and audio in helmet can be helpful 2. Most important point is they are by default on motorcycle mode and google always take small unconventional routes for motorcycles . If we can make it to car mode in app then trip navigator will show maps as per car (I faced this issue when I was on nh 8 and tripper wanted me to step out of the highway on every flyover till Delhi ) it was frustrating . Regarding sprocket it’s 7000km and might last till 10k . Same case with breaks (for breaks I follow the same logic less I apply less it will wear out ) . Royal Enfield is more like a brand of our country and it makes us proud when it is sold outside India and is appreciated .
I am having lower back pain since few years. I really get irritated with the bumpy roads. Can you please suggest which bike to buy? Himalayan 450 or Super Meteor 650? Anyone seeing this comment can respond back..
My brother is the owner of 650 and just hit 700km. He is complaining some tik tik sound in the engine. So is it normal in your 650 too? And on more noticeable thing is Gas is blasting while opening the fuel cap, do you have this issue ?
1st service has mandatory tapet adjustment and they will correct it if sound is abnormal .nothing to worry about .Regarding blasting : Try to avoid full tank at high altitude or due to pressure difference this sound can come try not to have full tank for few thousand kms.
i did faced the same tank problem due to which my bike also stopped multiple times showing obd sensor light and once the fuel lid is opened it regained its start phase. i complained 3-4 times and the bike was toed thrice to address this issue. it was resolved changing the air pipe in the tank but after that the fuel meter got displaced and fuel reading shown was faulty and it was also replaced in other visits to service center. do you have an issue with o2 sensor after every wash????
I think yes on plains .but he must avoid going to mountains ⛰️. Best is take a test ride (for cruiser tip toe is not a good option one must plant his feet properly )
This is a nice short sweet and genuine review.. ❤️ I truly appreciate your efforts.. I loved the overall make of this motorcycle; and for the price they are offering this is superb (I took a test ride only).. I am hesitant in buying another RE after I bought my RE Thunderbird in 2018 .. There was awful post sale service (Shreya, Telibag, Lucknow).. They denied service on prepaid coupons and refused to sale spare parts without service.. My complaints to RE were of no avail.. I am sure RE's post sale service has improved as you had mentioned but probably that still depends on the dealership... I bought my next bike in 2022 "Yezdi adventure" which I found to be much better in terms of power and features when compared to the then "RE Himalayan"... There is no competitors of RE in terms of fan following; but RE needs to scrutinize their dealerships. There are other similarly priced faster machines in India now 😊 Anyway, once again, congratulations on the great review
Thakyou so kuch for amazing words. Royal Enfield has improved a lot after 2018 (they are capturing international market with new engines ) Yezdi adventure is a great bike for highways but trust me himalayan is amazing in mountains and can't be matched with any other bike because of low end torque .née Himalayan 450 is super amazing .if you get time do give it a try .you won't regret it . Happy riding brother
I was charged Rs. 450/- for a pair of spark plug cover replacement. They even took away the old pair for R&D much against my wishes for future use. Free spark plug cover replacement indeed!
If they are charging then they have no right to take old unit . Mine was replaced free of cost so they had right to take the old one . You should have argued the same

Now moving to your choice :
1.If you are frequent mountain rider then you should go for himalayan .
@@motomoksh Thank you so much for your reply
Hey I just saw your video.. I am planning to buy it.. please help me with your review.. with the bike. As it's been a long that you have posted this video
Just go for it . Get ready with the mjnd set that you need to replace chain sprocket in 10000 km . You will love riding it .
Hi looking for some fairing options, let me know if ypu have any idea. BTW i just bought interstellar green

My personal choise is bykology batwing as quality is premium and looks amazing.
I will be uploading essential accessories video in a day or two . Do check that out . Many doubts will be cleared .
Rear Pioneer is now available in the App to customise
Yes it is .but I have already purchased trip machine panniers after waiting for so long
Thank you ❤ 😊 Awesome review

Very well explained thank you
Appreciate it!
Thanks a lot brother , jaisi apki mentality , likes, dislikes hai super meteor ko leke exactly same mere bhi hai. After listening to your opinion kafi informative and acha laga
Thankyou

Mujhe jo personally lagta he .
Agar koi problem aati he toh sabse pehle service center me raise karo issue . Fir officials ko mail and tab bhi satisfactory answer naa mile then use power of media(youtube and reels) . In step me koi bhi company sunegi . Ek professional mail me kaafi power hoti he . I am a lawyer by profession .
I don't like jab log directly youtube pe video daalte he . Vo galat he .

Thankyou sir, hope ki bike me upcoming rectification ke sath, thodi price bhi kaam ho jaye 😊❤
Price isse kam kabi nai hogi . I still remember Maine 2012 me 118626 me thunder bird twin spark li thi . It's pure metal and with time and inflation proce will increase
I hv same bike tourer red colour. For long ride, im facing back pain. Is there any solution with seat?
Whats your height ?
Actually I have ridden harley breakout and other big cruisers as well . So my finding is this super meteor is good for a guy with height 5.10 to 6.
Guys with less height must install handle extenders so that riding position becomes very normal .
For Harley breakout even 5,10 height is less.
Moving on . A general arc on back comes when you ride a Cruiser and if an unexpected bump comes then the issue arrise as your body is not upright.
I WOULD SUGGEST
@@Aabhi244 go for external cushion
@@motomoksh thank you I'll try..
Hope this problem soon sort out.
It's been 5 months for me and i am loving it more❤
Yes . One of its kind motorcycle in India
Things you should consider :
@@motomoksh Thank you for your reply I am much obliged. A very good luck to you and ride safe sir. Your well wisher Abhimanyu from Odisha❤🤝
Thanks bro !! Happy ride ,,
If you're riding doubles on SM650 Celestial your bum starts pinching and you will feel like sinking down the seat.
Will inceptor 650 have same amazing ride quality?? Do they have same engine??
Same engine but different characters.
Continental gt : most fun to ride and best design (authentically pleasing )
Interceptor :little less initial punch then continental gt and better upright position (those who find it difficult to ride a cage racer )
Super meteor 650: pure riding pleasure power delivery is more leniear and less aggressive
greatly put video thanks...

You didn't told about parts unavailability in major service station😊
Yes you are right . When I made this video I didn't face any issue of new break pads and chain sprocket . Now I know this
Very good review 😊
Thank you 😁
And yes rpm reading should be present but it's not
Thanks, I've booked the bike. Just a question, how long did RE take to deliver your bike? For now they've given me a waiting time of 2 months
It's was launched on 16th jan 23 .I booked on 17th jan 23 and got delivery in last week of March. At present you will get it delivered in 2 months for sure
excellent review dude
Much appreciated! Will share one more video on 1 year ownership . Lots of new things
Heating issues? Please explain
Based on my experience of riding air cooled engines above 650 cc ( 650 .iron 883 and 1800 cc ) . It is heating very normal just don't wear shorts and ride . Quite manageable and enjoyable in winters
No abnormal heating issues . It is heating like a 650 cc air cooled engine should heat .
You don't need a clutch and over heating engine always, there are times when a simple low cc scooter acts more convenient ( bumper to bumper traffic ).
chain set me jo prob hai uske bare me batao plz
Still not yet resolved by RE . RE should use better alloy for that and weight of bike is more

Which bike should I buy bhaiya meteor 350 or this beast ? Your opinion will be very important for me.
650 any day to actually enjoy riding pleasure and that extra punch . 350 is good if you are mileage conscious and mainly do city riding . 650 is a fun to ride in highways

Best variant kaunsa hai buy karne ke liye..
I am bit confused
Looks wise guys for base astral black and modify it later
Isko sambalne ke liye kitna weight hona chahiye.
Height atleast above 5.6 and weight atleast above 60 kg
@@motomoksh appreciates your comment ❤️ and for navigation yes I've mounted a phone holder and using that only.
I am having lower back pain since few years. I really get irritated with the bumpy roads. Can you please suggest which bike to buy? Himalayan 450 or Super Meteor 650? Anyone seeing this comment can respond back..
Go for himalayan 450 . Cruiser bike can lead to lower back pain because of posture and bad Roads.
7:23 Bro, suspension to vaise hi hogi. Aapko aadat pad gayi hogi. 😅
Haha. Might be
Bro 5.7 height ke liye ye sahi hoga ?
Yes .perfect .maza aa jaaayega .ride leke dekho
Great review...
Glad you enjoyed it
My brother is the owner of 650 and just hit 700km.
I didn't face any such issues .
i did faced the same tank problem due to which my bike also stopped multiple times showing obd sensor light and once the fuel lid is opened it regained its start phase. i complained 3-4 times and the bike was toed thrice to address this issue. it was resolved changing the air pipe in the tank but after that the fuel meter got displaced and fuel reading shown was faulty and it was also replaced in other visits to service center. do you have an issue with o2 sensor after every wash????
Can a person who is 5.3 feet tall reach the flat-feet ground level on royal enfield super meteor 650?
I think yes on plains .but he must avoid going to mountains ⛰️. Best is take a test ride (for cruiser tip toe is not a good option one must plant his feet properly )
Pehli baar RE launched their best bike SM650 👍👍
Although I prefer Suzuki 😊
Good choice

There are other similarly priced faster machines in India now 😊
Anyway, once again, congratulations on the great review
Thakyou so kuch for amazing words. Royal Enfield has improved a lot after 2018 (they are capturing international market with new engines )
Yezdi adventure is a great bike for highways but trust me himalayan is amazing in mountains and can't be matched with any other bike because of low end torque .née Himalayan 450 is super amazing .if you get time do give it a try .you won't regret it .
