    I still catch the queen in the queen catcher when I go get swarms. But it's about 90% effective for getting them to stay in your hive. I caught a swarm last week and caught the queen. Next day, about 95% of the bees left and only a small handful was left still balled up around the queen. However this is the first swarm that has ever done this. All of the others swarms have stayed.

    Just let me know when you have vac issues! I've revised the 'basket' to fix the issue you have... I'll send one out. Just don't tell Randy, he doesn't have the latest one yet! Much more rugged, improved for all my fellow violent bee removal friends!

    Tony added a couple knobs to the basket. Makes it a lot easier to get out.

      @dfishman76  4 роки тому +1

      Those knobs that where in the middle of the basket broke out within the first couple of uses

      @@dfishman76 I've improved the design with two knobs at the side instead of in the middle. I'll send you one and some extra knobs to upgrade yours.

    Nice swarm. I always cage the queen for a day or two as well. Too much work capturing a swarm to risk it absconding the next morning. Not to say they still won't but it lowers the chances. Have you seen/tried the type of bee vac that Mr Ed (Jeff Horchoff) uses?

  • @cindydotson5686

    I've seen that vac before. What is the name of it, and where did you get it. Is that the one that runs while you transport to keep the bees ventilated and cool?

    • @tonyandric4380
      @tonyandric4380 4 роки тому

      Hi Cindy, I make the vac. It's called the Everything Bee Vac. You can see it at allmybees.com . Yes, it has a 'whisper mode' which moves just a tiny bit of air over the bees for transport without stress.

    How many hives would you like to end up with? I told myself 7 so I can get into a hive everyday if I want to but have passed that number up
