On my Gen 2 dl650 I splashed out for the genuine high pressure filter (comes with new pressure regulator) as well as the suction filter. Pump was actually ok and had no problems for a couple of years now. I cut the high pressure filter open and it is a multi layered stainless steel mesh type so would backflush with carby cleaner and compressed air or better still ultrasound clean.
I'm pretty confident the filter is clear, I could blow through it. Bike is running much better now but it would still be nice to know which part was at fault.
@iaindarville9743 Same as the little foam filter in the air box above the crankcase breather hoses, mine started disintegrating and went all through the airbox.
Thanks for sharing, I have 2007 model with 135,000 kms, just starting to get a few issues. Do you use a specific tool for code error diagnostics and re-calibrating the electrical system? Thanks
Great info! Thanks
Hope you found it useful

High pressure filter is listed as pressure regulator in SGP manual. No mention it is a filter anywhere

Strange how it doesn't mention it's a filter.
@@OzADVRider yes and I believe it should be listed as a serviceable/mileage replacement item.

No. My bike has been customised and I no longer have the original dash so I don't get faults show up.
Don't have any diagnostic tools either
