This really was a relaxed and spontaneous moment for the three of us. Mark and everyone at Mahogany made it look beautiful without disrupting the natural atmosphere which is a rare skill. Here are the lyrics for those of you asking - I’ve been trying to hurt you I’ve been holding you tight I’ve been learning to love you Am I doing it right? How are you still breathing With my hands all over your heart? How do we start healing If we can’t keep out the dark? Are you for real tough love? Do you want to feel tough love? This could be real tough, love I’ve been feeding you fear You’ve been keeping me thin I’ve been trying my best to feel you near Without me disappearing How do you still see me? With my hands all over your eyes? When your friends come calling Do they ask you with a sigh Are you for real tough love? Do you want to feel tough love? This could be real tough, love
I love Florence’s voice, deep for a woman and kind of scratchy, and so evocative. Her singing in Midsommar, counterpointed to her co-stars beautiful soprano, gave me goosebumps.
The hardest thing to achieve when singing harmonies in a group is the ‘blend’…. It’s the way the voices gel together where the different timbre and frequencies become almost like one voice. It’s a magic, difficult to find constellation. They certainly achieved that here and what a fantastic song:)
I agree. Will and Nick have a clear telepathic harmony connection (as they did with Jon and Sam before they sadly left the band) which is absolutely key to finding that magic blend of pitch and tone which is so rare outside of 'Blood Harmonies' (sibling or family harmonies such as The Beach Boys, The Staves, etc.) Not many bands can master this, but Flyte make this look effortless - whether it is Will and Nick as they are now as a duo, or as a 4-piece in previous years. You only have to go back to the acapella videos they released throughout 2016/17 where their 4-part harmonies were so perfectly arranged and closely intertwined, it was almost impossible to pick out the individual voices. In my opinion they are up there with all the greatest harmony artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Still & Nash, The Eagles, The Beach Boys, and more recently, Fleet Foxes.
Another brilliant job from someone behind the scenes. A secret handshake to the those responsible for not just hiding the audio, but mastering it in post. I spend hours editing audio daily, and can only dream of accomplishing what this person continues to do for Mahogany. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Wow, Florence Pugh content for me is becoming just like wholesome Keanu Reeves content. They both seem like such a normal people, and that’s so nice. Photos of Keanu taking the subway like a regular person, videos of Florence having fun cooking messily and doing stuff like this. I love it. F*ck the fake drama celebrity culture, I’ve never paid attention to that. But I’ll watch this.
This is absolutely brilliant, the harmonies, the playing, the sound quality and cinematography, not to mention the song itself. Florence slots in with the lads so well
Wow. Just another reason for me to love her lol. She’s just beautifully talented all around. And I’ve never heard of these guys but now I’m defiantly checking them out. This song was great!

I want to live in a place with this color palette all of my life 💜 and this song every morning with a coffee ♥️ maybe on day, the world will be sweet, and calm. Hope 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
I am so excited seeing so many new/undiscovered/discovered/established and in general variaty of artists coming every year to mahogany! It's so fullfilling and musically speaking amazing way to learn about new styles and musicians! a recommendation would be to bring clara mann . she is a gem
This is amazing, adding it to my all time playlist next to Midnight by Toby Sebastian and dear Florence Pugh who gives us another glimpse of her huge talent! ❤️ Also Really cool to discover Flyte! Thank you for sharing the talent!
*this video existing in all it's magic magical-ness* me: bi panic side note: next time billie marten should join as well that would be next level harmonious :)
I stumbled across this last night and have been slowly taking it in today with the chords and harmonies. This is absolutely stellar and tight with the complex notes and melodic arcs in the piece. I was ashamedly unaware of Flyte until now and am enamored with the musical wizardry going on here. and of course, Florence Pugh. brilliant! love her.
She can act, she can wrestle, she can sing, she can play guitar... She has a youtube channel where she used to post song covers and such, last video is from 7 years ago, she should make more! www.youtube.com/@fp679/videos
@@malo374 Not on this project, but I've worked with Mahogany before. It's most likely some overhead ribbons and some well hidden close micing. There must be some close micing going on (if you look at the wide shot at the end you can see some mic cables going to hidden spots... Plus vocals are getting louder with proximity to the camera so perhaps they're blending the camera audio in too. I just know for a fact that they would've put a lot of effort into 1) the recording and 2) keeping the raw look and trying not to clutter the space with mics. Flyte are not the kind of band who would be caught dubbing over a pretty video, they're just not. Beautifully recorded nonetheless, I like that it's got us guessing!

really great tune guys!
Very soothing tune. And Flossie has an incredibly beautiful voice. So glad to have gotten to hear this.
You guys are so good 🙌
Absolute goosebumps. So glad this happened.
This sounded amazing. You guys might like a band called Uncle Reno

Did Florence Pugh sing in Midsommar? 🙄😯🤔
Somewhat reminiscent of Stevie Nicks.

What a lovely description! 😊
Very well said! It’s also one of the best feelings in the world! The experience could be described, but wouldn’t do it justice.

I feel like we just peeked into such an intimate moment, and thus this is where the magic happen.
The direction in this video is spectacular in creating that intimate atmosphere.
Florence Pugh on Mahogany Sessions cured me in a way I can't explain. Love this so much. 🤍
Florence Pugh is who I want to be when I grow up and I’m four years older than her!
We feel you!
This is what music is all about. Soul, harmonies, in the moment, spontaneous beauty.

Florence Pugh needs to stop making me feel bad for not having done anything with my life
She’s got a wonderful voice. And so beautiful
It's not too late 😊. Also, try not to compare yourself with others. Not everyone has the same opportunities 🫶
It's not to late for you to start.
do not let one posh woman in a privileged position get you down
It's not too late to learn how to say too correctly

I love Florence T.T
waiting for Florence to relece an EP
These lyrics hit so fucking hard
Great video, it sounds so good. Did you re-record the vocals?
no it's live, Flyte are just that good
Did you work on the project? If yes, where did you put the mics? Because the positions I can think of would not lead to a sound like this.
