Hi manage to ride this two times over my six visits to Hersheypark this year. After my first ride and a 45 minute wait, I decided that this ride would be better off known as pretty good bear. I wouldn’t say it’s great, but it is pretty good. It’s very short it definitely has a unique layout, but it lacks a lot of the punch from the other inverts in it’s genre. I very much appreciate it’s aesthetic value, it really adds to the kinetic energy of the hollow, which is possibly my favorite theme park land, outside of a universal or Disney park. This is a very good synopsis of this coaster, Mario, keep up the great work.
IMO it's not "great", but it's fun and cute. I like how it gives a little tour of that side of the park. I think my favorite inversion on this is the corkscrew. You should be de-platformed for being a straight track apologist.
I've always had a weird soft spot for Great Bear, having first ridden it in 1999, and only a handful of times since - but as recently as this summer (prior to this year, it was 2015). It's not my favorite invert, but it is so strangely unique and different and I love the pace. I love the helix leading into the first drop (the first time I ever rode it was at night and it was actually disorienting in a good way), and you're right, the zero-g roll is the best inversion. I like that it has no mid-course, so it flies through, but without the crazy whip of a Batman clone (which I do love, but have grown a little tired of over the years). And yes, as a shorter person, this gives no head banging even with those restraints. I'd agree on an 8.5!
Cool video - gave it a thumbs up. Don't think I agree with your assessment of the straight sections of track -- lol -- I knocked off a lot of points for this "sin". Great Bear an amazing looking first drop which sent my expectation soaring. I love inverted coasters and this was one of the coasters I most looked forward to riding at Hersey. LONG wait, short underwhelming ride! They obviously didn't have the space to put in an invert that competes with Raptor, Silver Bullet or even a Batman Clone. As creative as the design team was that right feels (to me) like a lot of compromise.

Good ride and agree with environment but no not good much better inverts out there
