Republicans consistently support less government regulations in business, in favor of higher profits. While I agree that the US should have stricter regulations on food, it is very unlikely that any of these plans will be accomplished. What he is suggesting goes against the ideologies of his own political party.

Unfortunally Brazil buy this sick food. Brazilians are becoming overweight too. Our diet are becoming more and more americanized. There're some government initiatives to stop that, but because of political polarization people on right call it "Big state", and the left doesn't say nothing, because many companies finances social movements. Kelloggs, for example finances some black movements and some educational private schools.

I work in medical research and really disagree here, there is not enough research on most drugs and definitely most food ingredients to justify the level of safety they claim. It's also alarming just how many supposedly prestigious research publication journals accept papers which misanalyze their own research or even blatantly lie/manipulate data. This is the case in many other countries too. There is a big problem on the science side of things as well.

About a year ago I would have been on the side of the dems on these issues, because I thought universal healthcare was the most important thing. It wasn't until I started to have serious back pain issues and blood work that kept coming back worse every year that I started to do research about food and what a proper human diet looks like (carnivore/keto). A year later, my back pain is gone, my bloodwork numbers are better than when I was a teenager and I lost 45 lbs, all with zero meds and zero doctors. When I look back at how I was able to turn my health around, not only did healthcare not have anything to do with it, but it would have actually made everything worse. Even with universal healthcare, if I had been able to see as many doctors as I wanted just for fun, they would have told me to eat lettuce, broccoli and "a little bit of everything", put me on meds , and I would still be sick as a dog. Now I understand that not only is universal healthcare not the most important thing but it can actually make things worse, because the entire system is corrupt and made to keep everyone sick.

if companies just PAY good wages with guaranteed career paths, people would have more money to eat healthy. Plus, we need to consider how greed has ruined families and the importance of close knit communities, separating us from being able to spend time with kids, cook at home, and control our health better. Work from home is the way, and so is higher pay with structured career paths. They say money is the root of all evil. Until leaders stop selling America out to fatten their own bank accounts, this obesity and issues in society beyond it will continue. It's not all about money. Money has its place, but being greedy and sinful is not the way.

The truth is that Europe DOES have a massive obesity problem and this just caters to chemophobia folk. There will still be an obesity issue even without these chemicals present. The issue is how EASY it is to get access to these foods and how companies have embedded themselves into culture, the norm. Directly disincentivizing these foods for healthier alternatives is how you fix the issue. Teach our current generation how to COOK at home. That'll probably never happen because this is what we settle for under this system. Good luck trying to change americans' diets without rampage.

@@meanpie13 Refined sugar is nothing to do with fruit...even high sugar fruits....there has been a lot of research and some of the outcomes have indeed stated that refined sugar is a massive danger to the human race, Europe is starting to understand this but currently America can only see the corporate side and the losers will be its people everytime.

Medical science is absolutely corrupted by the pharmaceutical industry. Students are not taught more than a semester of basic nutrition. Very little time is spent on preventative care. They are indoctrinated to treat the symptoms of disease with a drug or surgery. RFK doesn’t make up the data, he analyzes data and draws very rational conclusions. The press on RFK has been largely slanderous because that press is funded primarily by drug companies.

RFK is, among several positive attributes, is a borderline nut-job. However, the issue of highly -possessed foods and proven to be dangerous additives IS a legitimate concern. I could well do without RFK Jr as head of the HHA, but working to eliminate highly- possessed foods is a must, no matter who leads the effort.
