- In today's Thailand travel vlog, we rent a motorbike and explore the best of Chiang Rai by visiting three of the most popular attractions throughout the city.
We start at the famous Chiang Rai White Temple, Wat Rong Khun. The sun eventually came out, and we had a wonderful time wandering the temple grounds before the crowds came in.
Next, we headed to Baan Dam, the Black House Museum. We meandered through the halls of the dark and edgy buildings, making our way through the massive 160,000-square-meter property and grabbing some black ice cream on the way out.
After trying bibimbap for the first time, we called it an early night so we could wake up and head to Wat Rong Suea Ten, The Blue Temple. We marveled at the magnificent paintings, decorations, and massive pearl Buddha statue before sharing a delicious bowl of coconut ice cream with butterfly pea sticky rice.

There are several great Thai artists live and work in that area including "Chalermchai Kositpipat" of the White Temple and "Thawan Duchanee" of the Black House. Both of them patronize local artists and craftmans to work with them, so they can continuously creating and maintaining these magnificent places.
That’s wonderful. I’m glad they share their knowledge of art with others to keep inspiring and keep the traditions alive! So much beauty.
The white temple that you visit the person who rebuild he is not just local artist he is one of the greatest artists in Thailand.
We've since learned that! He is so talented and so are all his students. Such incredible art in Thailand.
The people there were super friendly , always smiling and say hi to you .

"Tawan Dutchanee" of the Black House represents the dark side (hell).
"Chalermchai Kositpipat" of the White Temple represents the bright side (heaven).
they two are friends since their school years.

I like Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is smaller than Chiang Mai but it have many beautiful mountains. I have been Phu Chi Fah 2 times in during winter time in Thailand where make me amazing time to see the nice sunrise with mist cover the mountain .It hardly to forget in that time.Furthermore, I will recommend you to go to Phu Chi Dao and Doi Pha Tang also. This place is not far from Phu Chi Fah .
Chiang Rai is wonderful! The countryside surrounding it is our favorite part. Phu Chi Fa is amazing, you’ll see our vlog soon!

Wat Rong Kon and Baan Dam Museum both owned by 2 Thai legendary artist and paintings by both artists It can be said that it is the most expensive painting in Thailand. Both artists are legendary artists of the modern art era.

Hi both,glad you enjoyed the white temple,when we visited 5 years ago entrance was free but eh ho!looking forward to the blue temple when we fly next week to Thailand from England.glad we booked our flights months ago,looked yesterday the same flight now costs £4000 unbelievable!!

That tent restaurant where you're dining doesn't look like Thai food. I'm Thai and that place's food looks like Korean fusion food in Thailand.
It is Korean! We had only tried it once before and it looked like an interesting place we found while walking around. Right around the corner from our guest house. 😊

How did you know that it responded to touch and other stimulation by closing its leaves in the first place?
Ashley saw it somewhere I believe. She was looking down and thought she recognized it and told me. I got lost in playing with them and watching them respond. Nature is so incredible!

Hi. New subscriber here. How much time should i allot to tour the White Temple? Seems big.
Also, ill be travelling with my 72yo mom in Nov. I wonder if we can just take the Grab or Bolt to go to the 3 main temples instead of getting a private tour/car for the 2 of us. Thanks!
You should absolutely be able to get around via grab and bolt. I think a few hours to really explore it. It’s big, but 3 hours should be plenty!
