The saddest part is people develop a reasoning to this indifference action and take assurance from others to make themselves feel good. Being kind to everyone and taking a step to save a life even though when no one was watching, that’s what we all need and it may save a precious life.

I went to school with her and I remember her being pretty indifferent towards others

This is one of those messages that are always relevant. Each one of us needs a reminder every now and then to speak up. ❤
There is one thing I would add to this talk. Starting at 5:06 Amy says that people don't speak up for three reasons: they try to remain neutral, they simply don't care, or they don't know enough about a topic. I don't know how many people stay quiet because of those reasons. My belief is that most people care enough about stopping injustice but they are too afraid to speak up, they feel too overwhelmed or too powerless to change anything, or they feel inadequate to help someone who's hurting.
So, while reminding people to speak up, it's also good to remind them that they are stronger and more powerful than they give themselves credit for and that each small act of kindness matters. ❤

From my experience as a foreigner living in the 🇬🇧 indifference and stoicism are highly praised social traits here. For a mediterranean person with a warm personality, it's an absolute nightmare.

This young woman might have a different view of indifferance once she goes out in the real world aand realize that no one cares
The world is indifferent to our problems. That's the way it is. Caring won't changr anything.

Your talk is especially important today, when people around the world are watching as Russian terrorists kill Ukrainian kids, women and man every day and just do almost nothing, not completely nothing, but far less from enough to stop this terror, which is in many cases is far worse that the events happened during the World War II. Is not it the best example of indifference of 2022?
