Caroline Rose plays music as if she's just met her new best friend: It's fresh, fun and performed with contagious enthusiasm. The title of the first song she played at the Tiny Desk - "Yip Yip Yow" - hints at the fun to come in this brief, blazing set.
Rose's music is inspired by rockabilly, fast country and traveling from town to town in a van. And, though this set might seem like little more than a fun romp, it's worth pointing out the T-shirt over her left shoulder that reads "F*** Fear." It's an attitude her band wears well and fine-tunes in "I Will Not Be Afraid." So tie your saddle shoes tight and rock.

Saw Caroline and her band play about a year ago. Small venue with only about 8 people in the room. From that day forward, I've absolutely loved this girl. She is the most talented singer/songwriter in the world that no one has heard of. It's a shame, but I do think it's just a matter of time. I see they're touring with Nathaniel Rateliff now, so maybe you'll start hearing/seeing more of her.

Saw her do a solo show, opening up for The Violent Femmes. She took command of the room and I've been a fan ever since.

I saw them play in Philly in 2018 and met Caroline after the show. It was a good time and she was nice.
This makes me feel good about the fact that here new sound is very disco pop and her voice is not that but somehow is able to pull off both shout out to Spotify discovery playlist for adding her
Listening for the 2nd time as I write this. This is country music entertainment at its best. You sing like you are happy and you look in charge. That is so important for an artist. Having fun while working. You handle that guitar like a pro. And I cannot forget to mention the steel guitar which I simply adore. I'm Adélard

this is a totally different version of Soul. I guess that's probably why the album has Soul Number 5!

My wife and I saw her last night in Atlanta. Great stuff!! Original and the band was awesome......picked both of the CDs last night and have listened to both several times. I love when I find new music and I can tell it's going to stay with me for years.

Funny how things turn out! A friend of mine sent me a link to the soul number 5 video Two years ago, I liked it, but not my favorite representative of her stuff, which is absolutely fantastic. A friend of mine was turning me onto some of her favorites a few weeks ago, so I started listening to some of her other stuff, there’s some raw energy to her work which absolutely makes my spirit smile. +Steven Wright I can see why you might think that, if the singer and guitarist didn't exist. Ahhh, lead guitar lovers, a dime a dozen. The singer and the bassist are much more impressive from a musicians perspective. There are a million dudes that think they're great guitarists, and they just might be. But to find song writing, singing and a bass player that tight and tasteful, that is rare. But yeah, sure... The lead guitarist is the star, mmmm hmmm... And Kayne should be president... LOL
As a package they're fantastic!!! Great young sound. I've been a musician for 55yrs, and the others under her lead are super!!

OHHHH yeah! Saw her last night at Lagunitas Taproom in Petaluma, California and she freakin:: Rocked it! :: Soul No. 5: a glimpse into the variable roots here -- a rare find! Definitely missed this performance from tiny desk back in 2015. Love this full circle bit happening in my head now!

I heard Caroline interviewed briefly on NPR. After hearing some of the sound clips from her album at the time, I bought the album. Amazing album! Glad to see this desk concert. Looks like her group is really doing well. Not crazy about that yip yow song, but I love this band.

Interesting to hear this version "I've Got Soul". She definitely took the piss out of it(advice from her producer on the latest album). If you get a chance to see her live go do it. Lots of fun, well worth the price of admission. FUCK FEAR!

Found this clip after hearing her newer work, this is not anything like the music she is making today(2020). Probably for the best IMO, this is weird country-ish stuff compared to her newer pop stuff. Glad I found the new stuff first or would have passed on this band completely.
