Hi miss Caroline! I met your mama today at my work. I work at a restaurant/gas station and she was passing through. We started talking about Warren Zevon and the rock and roll hall of fame, when she informed me of this video! she's so very proud of you, as she should be. she's awesome, and she told me to tell you hi:)
Greatest artist of the century. Discovered her at Riot Fest on the Loner tour, just saw her twice last week on the Finale tour and every Chicago stop in between. Give Caroline all the flowers. Stat.
Saw Caroline and her band play about a year ago. Small venue with only about 8 people in the room. From that day forward, I've absolutely loved this girl. She is the most talented singer/songwriter in the world that no one has heard of. It's a shame, but I do think it's just a matter of time. I see they're touring with Nathaniel Rateliff now, so maybe you'll start hearing/seeing more of her.
This makes me feel good about the fact that here new sound is very disco pop and her voice is not that but somehow is able to pull off both shout out to Spotify discovery playlist for adding her
Listening for the 2nd time as I write this. This is country music entertainment at its best. You sing like you are happy and you look in charge. That is so important for an artist. Having fun while working. You handle that guitar like a pro. And I cannot forget to mention the steel guitar which I simply adore. I'm Adélard
My wife and I saw her last night in Atlanta. Great stuff!! Original and the band was awesome......picked both of the CDs last night and have listened to both several times. I love when I find new music and I can tell it's going to stay with me for years.
+Steven Wright I can see why you might think that, if the singer and guitarist didn't exist. Ahhh, lead guitar lovers, a dime a dozen. The singer and the bassist are much more impressive from a musicians perspective. There are a million dudes that think they're great guitarists, and they just might be. But to find song writing, singing and a bass player that tight and tasteful, that is rare. But yeah, sure... The lead guitarist is the star, mmmm hmmm... And Kayne should be president... LOL
Funny how things turn out! A friend of mine sent me a link to the soul number 5 video Two years ago, I liked it, but not my favorite representative of her stuff, which is absolutely fantastic. A friend of mine was turning me onto some of her favorites a few weeks ago, so I started listening to some of her other stuff, there’s some raw energy to her work which absolutely makes my spirit smile. Thank you Caroline for sharing your heart with us.I must see you perform live!
Saw her and the band opening for Pokey Lafarge in Toronto a few months ago and she/they were great. Really got the crowd going and she really seemed to be enjoying herself!
Since it isn't already listed in the video, the people performing are Caroline Rose - Vocals/Guitar Brett Lanier - Pedal Steel Pat Melvin - Bass Dan Devine - Drums
OHHHH yeah! Saw her last night at Lagunitas Taproom in Petaluma, California and she freakin:: Rocked it! :: Soul No. 5: a glimpse into the variable roots here -- a rare find! Definitely missed this performance from tiny desk back in 2015. Love this full circle bit happening in my head now!
we got to see Miss Caroline in concert in Midland, Texas this year. It's one of my absolute favorite musical nights in my 45 years. If you get the chance, go support this cute and fiesty singer!!
I heard Caroline interviewed briefly on NPR. After hearing some of the sound clips from her album at the time, I bought the album. Amazing album! Glad to see this desk concert. Looks like her group is really doing well. Not crazy about that yip yow song, but I love this band.
I love this...its like the first time I heard Ryan Adams.....they are cool...she is cool. I think she will be big because good loving rock'n roll always makes driving long journeys so much fun! keep going girl!!!!!
Interesting to hear this version "I've Got Soul". She definitely took the piss out of it(advice from her producer on the latest album). If you get a chance to see her live go do it. Lots of fun, well worth the price of admission. FUCK FEAR!
Found this clip after hearing her newer work, this is not anything like the music she is making today(2020). Probably for the best IMO, this is weird country-ish stuff compared to her newer pop stuff. Glad I found the new stuff first or would have passed on this band completely.
Where can I fiind a clean recording of yip yip yow? What album is it from? Googling doesn't tell. I wish to pay for this fantastic punkabilly song. Thank you Caroline.
Her range is absurd when you think about the other music she has released. One of the most talented musicians on the planet
Literally
agree!!!!

Are you related to Herr Starr?
This is beyond wholesome!
This story put me off a bit
Greatest artist of the century. Discovered her at Riot Fest on the Loner tour, just saw her twice last week on the Finale tour and every Chicago stop in between. Give Caroline all the flowers. Stat.
Dawwww, it's baby Caroline Rose! I love seeing the roots of Soul No. 5.
Saw her do a solo show, opening up for The Violent Femmes. She took command of the room and I've been a fan ever since.
That's a great pairing of support act and main act

I saw them play in Philly in 2018 and met Caroline after the show. It was a good time and she was nice.
This makes me feel good about the fact that here new sound is very disco pop and her voice is not that but somehow is able to pull off both shout out to Spotify discovery playlist for adding her
Cool to hear this older version of "I Got Soul!" Love seeing this artists' growth!
this is a totally different version of Soul. I guess that's probably why the album has Soul Number 5!
Nehedar so glad we got to hear this version too, it’s got a great vibe to it!
Nehedar The new version is better, but this one’s good, too
Would love to hear the other 3 versions as well!!!

It's interesting that she broke away from Country music to a style that was more in line with what she felt was her "true" style...
Holyyy fuck this girl is rad.
Just discovered this genius today.
shes beautiful and this band is pretty sick!
Caroline Rose is so darned fantastic.
My wife and I saw her last night in Atlanta. Great stuff!! Original and the band was awesome......picked both of the CDs last night and have listened to both several times. I love when I find new music and I can tell it's going to stay with me for years.

That slide guitarist is the star of the show
He plays pedal steel, but sure, the same principle ;)
PJ plus the knees stuff

As a package they're fantastic!!! Great young sound. I've been a musician for 55yrs, and the others under her lead are super!!
@@GroktheStranger from a musicians perspective that bass is kind of weak
I've been mind-singing "I will not be afraid" as I go thru life, since I saw this 5 years ago. Thanks girl.
Great performance. So stoked Caroline is coming to my town this month!
Amazing. 7 months. Still eagerly awaiting UK tour.
9:34 sweetest move ive ever seen

This band is like a lovechild between The White Stripes and Shoves & Rope
...and I couldn't be more happy about it
Loser was my gateway drug to all things Caroline, and blessed be the day.
Me too! That whole album is amazing!
original, musical, . . . wears that guitar nice and high, complete respect.
Amazing artist! Thank you for the introduction NPR!!!
Saw her and the band opening for Pokey Lafarge in Toronto a few months ago and she/they were great. Really got the crowd going and she really seemed to be enjoying herself!
Absolutely love seeing someone bringing a bit of energy to Tiny Desk! Great start, better finish.

caroline rose, i do adore this song
This goes great with my morning coffee! Awesome stuff!
The pedal steel playing is excellent. Oh, and I like the fact that she dresses like Run DMC.

Yip yip yow from Phoenix, Arizona!
This girl next door ROCKS!
Kick ass! Act from a place of love or react from a place of fear. Our basic choice and the door to good or bad. Keep up the good work!
Fresh, mischievous, raw, fearless. Good luck with the new album, and stay true to your music, Ms Rose.
Damng!!..(thought I heard my kids listening to country lately! hee haw!!🤠👍🏾

The second song is listed as "I got soul" in the video, and "I've got soul" in the video description, and I can't find it on any of her albums!
