Around the age of 13 I was placed on antidepressants which made me gain a large amount of weight, currently being on birth control made me gain more. I am so happy I found you today. I've been eating a vegan high carb low fat diet for over a year now. Feeling great and I have lost most of the weight I was carrying but I am finding I still have a lot of food cravings and I can never get the tummy as flat as I want. Trying a more balanced vegan diet now with smaller portions. These recipes are clear and simple and I can easily swap out the meats for tofu or beans. I made that shrimp bowl for lunch and it was soooooo good 😍😍 I didn’t have edamame, nori or Mayo so I omitted them but it was still so delicious. I particularly liked the sauce for the shrimp!

Liezl, I've been watching your videos for a year and a half now. There is a certain pattern that I realised with you and as a viewer I am really concerned. You do NOT need to lose any more weight! Honestly, you look perfectly fine and healthy. Honestly, you have to stop. I think that it's time to change your mindset. I was overweight my whole life and I ended up losing weight at the end of 2017. My only goal was to look thin and I thought I'd be so damn happy. When I did reach my goal weight, I was still unhappy with myself and I was still trying to change my body. I am not a model or a body builder or any of that. I am an average girl that fell into a bad way of thinking while trying to lose weight.
I am much much happier now because I've realised the whole purpose of healthy eating. It is not to be skinny but it's to be happy, both mentally and psychically. I still eat healthy and do not eat all that junk I used to. I don't track anymore, that includes mentally tracking. Food is fuel not an enemy. We should feed our bodies the right stuff, yes, but also once in a while enjoy ourselves.
Seriously, once you're at your healthy weight you don't need to track anymore. Tracking did help me with understanding how much I should be eating but at the end of the day, it isn't something ANYONE should do in the long-run. If we are constantly restricting ourselves and cutting down so much calories, our bodies think we are on starvation mode, hence, we end up binge eating.
so please, be mindful, love your body, love yourself.
I'm sure your concern is appreciated, but she has explained that she wants to lose just a little bit of weight, to get back to where she was before getting sick. I think that's fair. Also, it's normal for someone who does fitness/healthy lifestyle videos for a living to be more aware and more permanently tracking their progress. I think.
Although I also agree that she doesn't need to, she looks perfect to me. But it's also true that she looked perfect to me all throughout the time I've been watching her, and I didn't realize that she had won or lost weight. But when it's your own body you do realise, and sometimes it's important to you even if you just want to lose one pound.
Going forward, you should never comment on someone's weight ever again. You cannot tell if someone is at their ideal weight for their body just by looking at them. You make a lot of sweeping generalizations that I can guarantee you cannot back up with proof. Our bodies think we are in starvation mode so we end up binge eating? Please show me any evidence that this is how the body reacts. I can be full from an entire meal and still binge eat. And as far as tracking goes, everyone is different and tracking doesn't mean someone is losing weight. Some people can't track at all because it becomes an obsession, some people have to track forever or they won't hold themselves accountable. All of this to say, it is nice to try to lift someone up and help them, but this is not the way to do it. Everyone is different.

I made the muffins, they were delicious!! I used 2 tbsp of coconut sugar as sweetener but they’re not quite sweet enough but still good!! I put peanut butter on them with a few blueberries which makes up for the “lack” of sweet. Thanks liezl for the recipe!!!! I just ate 6 of them in bed for dinner...😂😂
