I was 6 years old, living in Edgewater on this day. My family and I lost all material possessions, but thank goodness we were safe.

I knew Vicki. Well I knew her brothers. And I still live down the road from the Open Door Church in Mcdonald's Chapel. I went to school with and cheered with Amber and Ashley Jones. I was 12 when this happened. My house wasn't damaged so we volunteered for Red Cross. I remember meeting President Bill Clinton when he came to see the damage. He was surprisingly very nice at that time. You can still see the evidence that a tornado came through all these years later.

There was a tornado in 1956 that hit some of the same areas as this one.

I was in Edgewater when the tornado came through. In the last minute or so, I saw the names and a few of them kids that died I knew and two of them I went to school with.
So please, always be weather aware.

I was 8 1/2 Years old at that time in 1998 that would led to Terry Bowden's resignation at Auburn and ended with the Hiring of Tommy Tuberville from Ole Miss in a Pine Box

We have our “closet shelter” stocked with emergency medical supplies in a plastic box, helmets for all the kids, 2 baby crib mattresses to lay on top of the kids to help prevent any injuries of flying debris, also have rope in every bathroom cabinet for the kids in case we have to tie them to the pipes under the sink. As a parent you have to think of every possible scenario, no matter how extreme, it’s a matter of life and death. When a tornado strikes you have seconds to run to your safe spot. My kids know where that spot is, they know to put their helmets on immediately and grab the mattress to lay under neath. My job at that point is to lay on top of the mattress they are under, keep them calm and pray 🙏🏻

    Dan "Hornebuckle"??
I would say you can't make this up, but apparently somebody did about 300 years ago. 😂😂😂
I would definitely change my name.
