The undead sound is quite chilling
I thought it was the start of some heavy metal concert..
It's the same sound effect as spawn parasite or parasite? Also I heard it used on the map parasite 2 by dark Shogun
Zerg Infestation used that sound effect for infesting people
I never heard that sound before and I played original warcraft 3 a lot before WoW came out.

That's a cool fact. The Undead sound I recognised for some reason but not sure where, perhaps used in a custom game or campaign. Never heard the Orc one before, or the Night Elf but that NE one sounds silly, almost sci-fi.

There was a custom campaign, I think it was called Tomb Raiders (i dunno how it is called in English, it's Russian name means pretty much that) and in it, there was an extensive mission for Undead, where we play as Crypt Lord Sallah-al-Din, who at two points in that map raised dead naga and dead bodies in the graveyard using this very sound
It's been used in the night of the dead map.
Old Warcraft III has so much depth to it that it will take Reforged about 200 years of development just to match it.

It’s a shame Blizzard could have made millions just releasing a dlc with a campaign bridging the story to wow a bit.
The second i heard about Reforged i pre-bought instantly, that game was my childhood, and it’s the last ever game i pre-buy, ever.

I wish they kept all those different hero revive sounds. It gives each of the race hero a slightly better distinctive and unique theme for the leaders of their army IMO. I like the night elf hero revive sound
The one you called Burning Legion revive did not go un-used. It's actually the revive effect for the heroes you get from the Tavern, but it's true that it had no sound effect.

Idk if I remember correctly or not, but the Awaken one is used when buying back your heroes in a tavern, and the demon revival is actually used when reviving (some of?) the neutral tavern heroes in your altar.
Love the Orc version
Awaken or revive the hero instantly is used for Tavern revives.

I remember that the version I played, back in the early 2000s, had all those different revival sounds for the four races. There was another version that I didn't like precisely because it didn't have these different sounds (only the human revival one) and the units had less animations when casting a spell. Damn! _Warcraft: Reign of Chaos_ is truly an unique (and bizarre masterpiece), and it sent my childhood brain on fire; just looking at it after so many years bring me up some cheerful nostalgia.

These are really cool except the Undead one, it's kinda cool conceptually but sadly just too grating for casual video game playing. Just make the shriek much less irritable. Maybe make it a deep, haunting wail like one of the Ziggurats or something.

What i love about the OG WC3 development is that it was made by a company that needed to prove that their game was a quality one (unlike reforged and their laziness at every scale) and as such put much effort into making sure everything is polished. Im not gonna go listing all what makes this game stand out from all the other RTS games as it would take me an eternity to write but just to mention this Hero sound example: do you realize that they have thought of the idea, worked for it, made excellent sounds for each race, and finally chose to keep only one for readability of the game as all the sounds like the orc one or lowkey the the night elf one aren’t easy to hear with all the audio mess going on screen.
This just proves that these guys when doing this game poured their heart in it and were ready to work and try ideas even if they re not meant to be kept, as cool as they are if they don’t serve the wanted quality at the end.
this would have been really cool to have in the game, though the undead one might need to have its volume toned down, cus its a bit too loud and ear piercing imo.

The Orc one is too quite, and the Undead one is too grating on the ears. The Night elf one is okay, but it doesnt strike me as a revival sound.
I like how all of these are recognizable from various custom games. Probably would have never heard them if not for it being, idk, the round end timer in some obscure TD map.

The revive hero was on the story on some demons, i remember Magtheridon the pit lord had it. I believe the cool revive at the end was Illidan’s at the story mode as well. The race exclusives all are played in the wc3 classic still except for undead
The "revive hero instantly" effect is used for tavern revival, when you pay to instantly revive a hero at a tavern with reduced health.

The only revive sound i remember was the NE one.
I heard for play with warcraft 3 about he/she have been killed and then revive back. When I was a child to start playing in 2011.
