For those who have been clamoring for the 'Eraser' I recomend you check out comicreview47's excellent and very informative video about the character: ua-cam.com/video/8N84NU3hpr8/v-deo.html
I feel Rag Doll would actually fit more as a Nightwing villian. Due to them both being from a circus and having amazing agility. He could be Nightwing's answer to Joker, Lex Luthor, Cheetah, or Captain Cold. All you would need to do is retcon it to where he was in Hayley's Circus and maybe was a friend or rival of Dick Grayson before his parents died. Plus I feel like Nightwing needs more villans than just Blockbuster and Deathstroke.
YES Rag Doll is such an underrated villain, I love 'em. The Batman version of Rag Doll is my favorite iteration of the character. Design and personality wise!
Nice take on Ragdoll. The Batman animated series was also where I was introduced to this character. I know you are interested in Gear Head, but here are more foes that just blended into the shadows of villainy; Wrath aka Anti-Batman, Riot, Lock-Up, Master Jailer, Humpty Dumpty & Nocturna.
Jacob Benton I love the Wrath too, I don t know if he should qualify as forgotten, since there is a new 52 version of the character; but very different from the original.
I think a one-shot issue focusing on Jay Garrick's rouges would be interesting. It could be like a Sinister Six type group (Well Sinister Four.) that includes Rag Doll, Shade, Thinker, and Fiddler who team up and try to take down Garrick. Also I have a few suggestions for the next video: Plastique, KGBeast, Gentleman Ghost, and Silver Banshee.
Goofy fun... sad that they decided to turn him into "The-Joker-if-inspired-by-Raggedy-Andy" instead of just leaving him an old school villain with an interesting gimmick. A bit under-powered for a Flash villain, sure, but could work for any number of non- or barely-super-powered heroes -- Wildcat, Sandman, Hawkman, etc. The fact that he's a circus performer who turned to crime because of the job market also leaves open the possibility of him reforming.
While I do agree that this character seems more suited for a non powered hero, I think it would be cheap to just add him into Batman's already massive rogues gallery. Maybe you could make him a villain for Green Arrow, Night wing, the Creeper, Black Canary, or maybe the Question.
You know I much more enjoy when Ragdoll uses a more classic ragdoll mask that represents an actual doll instead of those overstylized masks that they gave started giving him later.
I think a good re-write for rag doll to put into Gotham would be that He's an Olympian and He's competing in New york (Gotham) when the Scarecrow is testing a new Fear Toxin (Some kind of bomb if you will) and it makes him(Rag Doll) unleash all of his painful memmories of his parents that pushed him way too far and abused him growing up as a kid (As you'll see ealier in the comic) That his parent's put him in every school sport they could get him in(Gymnastics is Important since it colerates with his main ability) without ever asking what he wanted which was to have a normal school life. (Present)So when he's at the New York Olympics(Before Hand In The Comic It Show's him,Pre-Ragdoll Stealing Drugs from people's homes because he has to deal with the physical pain since he's trying to become an Olympian) and Scarecrow unleashes his fear toxin and Batman Fails to save him and Rag Doll's big momment that he's been working towards his whole life is ruined and he want's revenge on the ScareCrow. The Title of the Comic Would Be "Who's Here To Hear The Crow Scream" or "Who Crow's at Night" Something like that this is a rough draft of what would be a good original re-telling of Rag Doll.
Jacob Benton Man I would love that! It would be my Ultimate Dream! Day and Night I Write all the time besides I've been reading and writing since I was 3 so that helps too haha. Thanks man I really apreciate it I also can't get enough of old school comics those writers truely did live in their works (especially one's in the 60s to 70's era good stuff), Just like how I see world's,chracters and events in my head I come up with on the present. Sorry I didn't get back to you just dealing with alot of school at the momment since I'm 17 and all but if you met me and the way I speak you'd think in my 20's anyway thanks man I would like to see more reactions to my work good or bad can't get enough of what people's reaction's are to it.
I've thought for a while that Rag Doll II would be a natural fit for Nightwing's Rogue Gallery In alot of ways I think those characters could serve as a foil for one another
The reason that he was on 'The Batman' was because at the time there was a moratorium on using Scarecrow due to the upcoming Batman Begins movie, thus it can be assumed the redesign was because the episode was in partial production when the order was given. This was also likely the reason why Ra's al-Ghul never appeared on the show.
I don't think I've actually ever read any comics with Ragdoll...aside from one or two Secret Six stories with Junior (which I didn't actually care for, I have to admit...but that's another story). I actually really liked the character as he appeared in "The Batman." It's interesting to find his history here, and see what he was/is like. Even though I've never read much with him (in fact, again, it's been practically nothing), I still do like the character, and I wish there were more takes on him in other media. Much like Joker and the Mad Hatter, he takes something innocent and sweet, and turns it into something that's equal parts hilarious and pretty bloody creepy. And that dichotomy is always fun in a villain. I also like the fact he's a contortionist; I don't really think there are very many characters known for such a skill, so it's a unique sort of "power" to have. Anyway, fun video, as always! :)
My first introduction to Ragdoll was the old DC reprints in the 70's and the JLA/JSA team ups. LOVED the Starman "Times Past" Ragdoll story... one of the better Flash villains.
I love Rag Doll. I remember seeing him on The Batman and absolutely loving him, then going back into the comics and finding out about how underused he was. My only problem with him (other than him being underused) is that I wish that they gave Peter Merkel Jr. the costume of the one seen in the show, as that might have caught the attention of kids going into their local comic stores and boosted his popularity a bit, but oh well. As for making him a Bat-Rogue...I heavily disagree. Having Peter Merkel Jr. as the central villain in a Flash/Batman crossover? Yes, that would be great. Having him be a Bat-Rogue permanently? No. Batman has tons of enemies as it is, giving him one of Jay's won't help either of them. Nightwing, Robin or one of the Batgirls maybe, but not Bruce. However, what I would like is if we had one/two-shot flashback issues to the 1940s/1950s featuring classic, Golden Age heroes fighting off their classic enemies that, while still serious, would ultimately be fun, lighthearted breaks from the serious storylines in the present. For example, there could be a storyline where Gorilla Grodd invades Central City and, while ultimately defeated, leaves the Flash-Family crippled, which would then be followed by a two-shot story where Thinker, Rag Doll, Shade, Norman Empire and Fiddler form a Proto-Rogues team and fight Jay Garrick a couple times before being caught. Not only would it provide some much-needed levity to the comics and exposure of the older Flash Rogues, but it could lead to that Jay Garrick-centred book you mentioned.
Yes it was actually something like that I had in mind - a Garrick series set in the 40s-50s when he was young. Alan Scott should also get one, he's got a few rogues too, like Icicle, Vandal Savage and Grundy. Well ideally I wouldnt want Rags to become a Bat-rogue, but if he had been from the beginning I doubt he would be this neglected.. I suppose Dick's rogues gallery would be better, they've both got that circus background too.
Of course. Really I'd want this to be a thing for all the Golden Age heroes, from Flash and Green Lantern to Black Canary and Wildcat. Heck, I wouldn't mind giving the original Red Tornado a bit of love with a one-shot special issue. Fair points, but yeah, I would prefer to keep him around Keystone and Central City more than anything else.
An ongoing Jay Garrick series, perhaps set on an alternate Earth, would be awesome! The Rival, Jay's Reverse-Flash, The Shade, who can manipulate shadow and darkness, The Turtle, who can slow other people down to a crawl, Thorn, an insane woman who can control plans The Fiddler, who I would give actual sound powers, and his Arch-enemy The Thinker, a planning genius and powerful telekinetic, would have to be inculded! Of course more Rogues would be needed, I would hope for some other Golden Age ones but just lesser known Modern or Silver Age ones would work as well.
The Phantom Stranger actually. I haven't read anything with her though.. But that's easy to solve as she's got so few appearances. Yeah, I might do a vid on her in the future!
I do like most of the designs for this character but I think I am found of his originally, grinning, cartoonish look. it helps him stand out so much more among the more realistic-looking DC cast
I always click these notifications so fast lol I didn't know much about this guy before, I think I've only seen him in one of the supervillain teams you mentioned once. I have to say, if they bring him back, I think they should keep the original look. Damn is that evily grinning raggedy Ann look disturbing, way scarier than all of the other depictions imo Though he does look like someone who should be rotting in Arkham Asylum, I honestly think that Batman doesn't need him in his ensemble. Besides, he already has a villain very similar to him (who I now know is basically a rip off of him) I think he's named Jack in the box or something, from Dollmakers family in the new 52. I believe that was the contortionist one. No, I think he would be better placed with another non superpowered hero such as Nightwing (with the whole circus past and could even work as a symbol for Dick not being able to get away from the crazy shit like what's in Gotham) or Maybe even Green Arrow (add a little creepiness to his rogues gallery, maybe even have him team up with Bullseye the clown as a way to bring him back. Just imagine it, if he is agile enough to be put in Flash's rogues gallery, that could be excuse enough to make an updated version of him fast enough to dodge Green Arrows shots by contorting in unexpected ways. Could work.) Anyway, nice video. Can't wait to see what you put out next.
The classic look is great yeah, it kinda reminds me a bit of Chucky too, before he got all "disfigured" and all.. Yeah I guess it would make more sense to make him a Nightwing rogue, or Green Arrow, then to shove him into the bat's already full gallery. He does scream "Batman villain" though ;)
Gotham Rogues That reminds me, do you think you'll be covering any more horror icons like you did Jason in Nightmare Gallery? I think Chuckie would be a good one, to cover the good and the bad. I can understand why you would put that channel on the backburner for a while though I just recently discovered it with your Friday the 13th video and hope to see more soon.
Huh this guy seems way more interesting than I thought he’d be! But they either need to switch the heroes he fights or give him some actual powers if he’s gonna keep being a flash villain.
I really like what thet did with the Rag Doll in Starman. His chapter is my second most liked issue of James Robinson's run, only topped by the Sand and Stars arc (Yeah, Sandman is my fav hero)
I think the reason why he hasn't appeared much in comics and media is because Copperhead has a similar power to him being a contortionist plus having the ability to inject venom.
Ragdoll does feel like he's more suited as part of Batman's Rogue's Gallery, some people might reasonably point out he has lots of Rogues already, but plenty of his old rogues have gone on to be anti-heroes or are shared with other heroes, so there's definitely room for him in Batman's Rogue's Gallery. He could also be a Bat-Family villain, one who gets shared across their solo adventures, he seems flexible enough like that. Edit: Also he could be given a bit of a creepy/unique movement style, like Voldo from Soul Calibur to add to his insane flexibility.

Tripple jointed my foot! In the batman he basicly deflates entirely and becomes as flexible as an empty plastic bag. How else could he survive the cogwheels and emerge from the oenguins hat? That's awersome and i want him to appear more :D

I do agree he doesn't really work so well as a Flash villain, but Batman's rogues gallery is a little too cramped for even a contortionist. I'd sooner see him rebranded as a foe to some other street-level hero, like Green Arrow or Huntress, or maybe as a foe to someone from the extended Batman family, like Robin, Nightwing, or Batgirl.
Maybe you could do Series where look at manga villains who could fit into the dc universe and who would be the hero they would fight kind like arkam what if ? Just and idea .
THe batman intruced me to i think if used properly he could be good, also i know this is a strange request but could u review batman 27 of rebirth because a certain rogue got so much depth that u need to see an review to see what i mean?
I’m years late but you sound like Ragdoll. Legit when I was reading his comics I hear a voice similar to yours. I hated his voice in The Batman, it just didn’t suit him.
For those who have been clamoring for the 'Eraser' I recomend you check out comicreview47's excellent and very informative video about the character: ua-cam.com/video/8N84NU3hpr8/v-deo.html

That’s a great idea now get a job at DC and start writing.
He would be a perfect nemesis for Nightwing.
I think Professor Pyg should switch to Nightwing too since he first appeared when Dick Grayson was Batman at the time.
How about the original ragdoll being a Batman villain and ragdoll jr being a night wing villain
Good idea, now get yourself a job in DC comics and make more great stories.

Well Batman has a huge gallery of enemies it doesn t surprise me.
Jacob Benton
When I first saw Ragdoll on The Batman I thought he was Scarecrow just by the way he looked.
Same here mate I thought Ragdoll was Scarecrow as well
I thought he was scarecrow because of the color schemes!
I think The Batman Cartoon made Rag Doll act and look too closely to Scarecrow
Also Rainbow Raider would make an interesting video
I dunno about act, but yeah he certainly did look like Crane quite a bit..
Well I'm fine with that since scarecrow never actually made an appearance

Ragdoll recently appeared on the CW Flash series, as a metahuman who can mold and stretch his body anyway he wants.

3:55 that cover art design would make him more threatening
He also appears in The Flash CW show
could you do one the Film Freak.
I read the rag doll in the Batgirl comic, it was good,in that there were multiple rag dolls.
can't wait to see him in the flash
Ragdoll looks fucking creepy and Horrifying. Very creepy as fuck.
I need to read starman
Osian Coleman Yes ! Find the Omnibus' ... trust me, GREAT READ. The Rag Doll story was frighteningly good
At least rag doll appeared on the flash
Honestly i like this villain but what he did to his son and daughter makes him more creepy and despicable imo. He also appeared in the flash tv show.
In the new 52 batman. Ragdoll is a hero
Mr. Rogues you need to update rag doll because he was on the Flash {barry allen, and the shade is on stargirl, maybe ragdoll will show up there}
I recommend doing a video on the human flame, who I would say the Martian Manhunter's arch-enemy is.
Alright I might look into him. Never read any solo Martian Manhunter stories..
Gotham Rogues he has some solo stories is detective comics
I can't remember for sure but I think he is slated to appear in the next suicide squad movie.
Rag doll appears in DC New 52 Batman the Dark night voulme 1
Have you done a video on Mr. Bloom yet?
this is one of my favorite videos. could you please do the turtle/ turtle man
Thanks! Maybe.
You could try to make your own Ragdoll series.
I thought he did a good job on the Flash TV show
I think that Rag Doll would be better suited Green Arrow rather than Batman as he doesn't have many definite villains.
Here from flash season 6
I've seen Ragdoll is both Batman and the Flash villain
Ragdoll was in batman the dark knight
He is in the flash show
Oh man! Do a video about Codpiece!
I ve read most of Ragdoll Jr appearances on the Secret Six. Your video made my interest on Robinson s Starman grow do you recommend the series?
I do indeed! Lots of lesser known rogues in it, like the Mist, Solomon Grundy, Dr Phosphorus and of course Rag Doll and Shade.
Gotham Rogues thanks I will try to get that series. For a future video have you considered the original Wrath?
I have yeah. It might happen.
Ragdoll also had a daughter
Untrue! Ragdoll is also in The CW Flash show.
but not until 2018. This video is from 2017
Maybe you could do Series where look at manga villains who could fit into the dc universe and who would be the hero they would fight kind like arkam what if ? Just and idea .
Have you ever thought of expanding to manga villains I ask because there quite a few super hero mangas.
THe batman intruced me to i think if used properly he could be good, also i know this is a strange request but could u review batman 27 of rebirth because a certain rogue got so much depth that u need to see an review to see what i mean?
Batman has enough villains. I much rather see ragdoll as a canary villain or a JS villain and be a rival to Wildcat.
have him fight rag-man
Harley Quinn is the most overrated Batman character.
I agree
People just want to fuck her
I really like her but she really is.
I’m years late but you sound like Ragdoll. Legit when I was reading his comics I hear a voice similar to yours. I hated his voice in The Batman, it just didn’t suit him.
ragdoll's daughter is creepier
Did Matt Reeves recent Batman casting got u here?
Ted Knight!
