Thanks for the great video and all the information! I feel inspired. I did hear the sound at 42:33 that others had commented about and it gave me a little chill.
I like going camping with you. You take your time and look at what your passing. I’m older and like to look at all the scenery. This was a beautiful hike. I love listening to the rain. It was fun. Thanks for letting me tag along.🌹🦋🌹
EVP Laughing at 56:35 after the wrong turn. I was wearing headphones while watching and the first one was so obvious yet unexpected, it gave me chills. I'm planning on solo hiking the Quehanna trail in August. Can you do me a favor and come back in a month to confirm you put in these EVP's during editing? ha.
I have to say-your editing skills are top notch.Your vids are becoming like movies-which is great-so don’t take it the wrong way-the only downside is we all miss you when you’re gone for so long.
Sintax77 Come on brother you have to respond to all the EVP on this vid. You have some crazy good captures on here, Someone doesn't like visitors at the old farmhouse "foundation" Get out happening as your walking thru the old house placement. Killer stuff!
I have enjoyed your Videos over the years on your channel. Your camera work is great. I love the views and the data you provide. You are an inspiration to me to continually get out there in the back country.
Great job with the video! Cool place to set up your hammock. The last night on my Superior Hiking Trail 215 mile adventure was interesting. I had a pack of coyotes freaking out at my campsite. I could see them in the edge of the woods running around with my headlamp. They left a few minutes later and I could still hear them off in the distance. Hiking out in the morning about 200 feet from my campsite I saw the remnants of a rabbit. That's why the coyotes were so excited and kept me on the edge. lol
My wife and I camped at Yankee Springs by Middleville, we we're blessed with coyotes, but we apparently set camp almost on top of a den site! There were tracks and scat everywhere.
Really looking forward to your next hour long camping trip ⛺️ I always secretly hope that your meal will be biscuits and gravy again lol, something that we don’t get over where I am. For some reason, when you eat it makes everything seem so tasty!!!! 😋
RAIN THE BEST TIME TO BE OUT IN THE WILD ;) ITS MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL AND COZY FEELING WHEN YOU GET WARM .. YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU EARNED IT IN THE RAIN ;)
Hi, Shawn 👍🏻👍🏻 I always enjoy watching your hammock camping hiking adventures 👍🏻 beautiful scenery along the way and a great spot to setup camp. I will be looking forward to seeing your next adventure. Thanks for sharing and taking us along, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny
Of course it’s an edited sound effect 😉 He would for sure answer some of all the comments about it otherwise. Also, it goes well to the thumbnail where it looks like he hears something 😄
I really love your videos, and the info you share about your gear is so helpful. You make me want to get out there - but not the Quehanna Trail - that shit's obviously haunted! Be safe, and thank you for taking us along.
There is a 1,000 acre farm near my land that i camp on quite often. Has a creek, lake and 2 ponds to fish in. And ghost. Keep up the good work man, love the videos.
The Ghost, at 42:27, just as Sintax, says it is calm and peaceful you will hear the wind and than a very clear EVP that says "be quiet", I don't think he heard it at all. I barely noticed it and replayed that part several times to make sure it was not the wind. He happen to make camp near and old farm with what appears to be and old well. Maybe there was a ghost still holding on to that farm. I have watched almost every video made by Sintax and I have never heard anything like that before in his videos. Very strange.
Always love your vids Sintax! Really appreciate the subtle, spacey moments in your cinematography where sound gets twisted or some sort of extraordinarities occur. Ps; You’re brave to sleep by that “cellar” looking hole in the ground, think I would have kept hiking a few hundred miles past that, lol. Anywho, thanks for filming and sharing, take care!
Quehanna Wild Area is awesome and has a lot of history! At one point Curtis Wright Aviation was testing rocket/jet engines there (you can still find the bunkers) there was even a small nuclear reactor (now gone) near the Quehanna highway!
So, I wasn't the only one who heard that? Listened to it later using headphones, definitely sounds like it was dubbed in. "Be quiet. Be silent" along with the wind noise.
So here I am watching after dinner watching how he enters the area of the old house, my stomach churns and I'm thinking, he should not be there and my stomach churns again. 'I ate too much I thought'. Kept on watching and hear the "be quiet I said" while the hair on my arms and head are standing up. Spook the hell out of me. Went back to watch it and sounds clearly as a voice, heard it another time too. It sounded like it was dubbed over; coming over the left channel. Amusing, if this is a prank. If not, Loki has a sense of humor.
Great video again. Love that you left in the “oops wrong turn” I literally said go the other way, but I only had a couple minute to forget. You had all night.
You are welcome sintax! Glad the info on the blazing helped you. ~~~ Thank you for a wonderful scenic trek through the Quehanna, my old stomping grounds. The Marion Brooks trail register box that I mounted is still hanging in there (last one a bear knocked off). It was great to see the trails I either enjoyed as a trail maintainer or recreational dayhiker. And glad you enjoyed the Quehanna. Go back again. It's a big place to go on more adventures. Btw, there is a newer version of the DCNR Quehanna Trail map---2017. Moshannon or Elk State Forest provides free copies of it. Also, Purple Lizard has produced a Moshannon map. And lastly, there is also a turn-by-turn trail guide by Ben Cramer and a descriptive/historical book by Ralph Seeley. The last two can be found on Scott Adams Enterprises bookstore. ~~~ Hope you have better weather next time in the Q!
@@sintax77 Also, in regards to the mountain farm, it has been theorized that it may have been a logging camp and that the larger structure may have been a stable. At any rate, it is probably in the most remote of the wild area, with the nearest village being Driftwood. ~~~ A statement that Ralph made in another book of his, "The Greate Buffaloe Swamp", was this: "It is the largest so-designated [wild area] in the state, and the largest area of semi-wilderness between the Adirondacks and some of the national forests in Virginia and North Carolina, and thus many of the recreational users are from surrounding states." This impressed upon me the importance of the area, and I fell in love with it, and was blessed to live within an hour's drive of most of its trails. Hey Sintax, good to see the video. When you talk about cheeseburger time, any chance you could show the cheeseburger like you used to do at the end? To me it shows "mission accomplished".
At 42:21, there's a strong and hard woosh sound then at 42:34, there's the sound of a man's voice much deeper than yours that is saying something. They are very clearly words but I can't quite make them out...made the hair on the back of my neck stand up!!
Funny story about knocking over your stove with a striker, I was making coffee and my nephew wanted to try to light it with a striker, he was successful but in the process he knocked it over, luckily it was contained, unfortunately that meant no coffee for me
Wow! Another great video. Wish Mike and the 2 hot wifes "lol" were there as well. I never get to go hiking anymore. It's nice to at least watch someone that is very entertaining on the trail. Makes me feel kind of like I'm there as well. Thanks for sharing another experience with us.
been watching a few your vids and its really funny to me being from New Zealand, just looking at the differences in kit the American Backpackers are using/walking in. For example Walking in pants, over here its stubbies/league shorts with merino thermals underneath if its winter, if its really cold/wet the mentality is to just walk quicker and get warm that way! another thing is the concern over boots and water, watching the rock hopping makes me wince as very few crossings over here are stable enough to even attempt that, so we generally just power on through wearing our boots, as the rocks on the bed are generally sharp as well (bad experiences when taking boots off). That being said Hammock camping isn't that big here ATM but I've definitely been enjoying it for the last 2 years, and it is growing.
Nice video. If your looking for different footwear, you should check out the Off-road Sport Crocs. I know you’re going to think it’s crazy to hike in clogs, but give them a shot for a short hike.
I totally enjoy your videos and am envious of your level of fitness. Odd question....around the 42.30 mark on the video do you hear a strange whispering voice say something? It doesn’t sound like the wind to me. Since I’m scared of my own shadow maybe it’s my wild imagination getting to me.
Is that a tiny .380 at 45:13? Which one do you carry when camping? I've got a kel-tec p32 that I generally take with me when camping! Nice and lightweight.
@@sintax77 Nice choice! Around the same weight as the P3AT, but 7+1. Main reason I rock the P32 instead of the P3AT is that I'm a lot better shot with the 32 thanks to the minimal recoil in a gun that diminutive.

Actually it's not sound effect... it's real ghost voice
Good Video.. Did anyone else here the Creepy Voice at the 41:14 mark? It was during his Turkey Dinner

@@sintax77 Nice choice! Around the same weight as the P3AT, but 7+1. Main reason I rock the P32 instead of the P3AT is that I'm a lot better shot with the 32 thanks to the minimal recoil in a gun that diminutive.
I love your videos and have long wanted you to do a sit down with some scary stories from your adventures. I know you have them. Please give some response to everyones acknowledgment of the ghostly voices. What an awesome video!!!
A double blaze straight up and down means caution or be aware on the Florida National Scenic Trail as well.
I've got the ula catalyst pack and I love mine bc it's lightweight and rugged.
Could you Nerd out on how you use Base Camp and load it with the trails you go on with your Garmin?
Good idea. I'll have to look into putting something together on that in the future.
I would second that. I would be interested in seeing that as well.
Great trip looks like a low effort relaxing weekend.
