I was there in February into March of 2017 and there was lots of life there especially at night. I was very surprised to see all of the locals at the pubs and cars, cafes, etc.
Mr. Derp Empty roads are better for shooting a video! It's surely worse during rush hour, in heavy traffic... There are people in Tripoli though. About 39,000, even if you can't see many of them in this video. ☺ Thanks for watching, by the way!
There was a new pedestrian zone at 2:05 and roadworks at 3:33 which made me drive in 1 or 2 circles, but on the other hand that made the tour of the city more extensive. Otherwise, I would have driven in a straight line directly to the square that appears in 11:30 (which by the way is Saint Basil Square). Here is the initially planned route: www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1gHWoGPpcTuBRIVs_SiYy71vXpKtmfqkk&ll=37.51216287929702%2C22.37206103484891&z=17
I think there are many reasons, but surely no real reason. For example why people fight over a football match? They certainly don't have any personal gain, but still they fight over it. I think the same thing goes for graffiti.
i dont understand people why enjoy tagging other people's property (walls, signs everything) it's a big problem in hungary, and i see in your country not only this city a whole tag... i know economic problems, no work, but i think its simply crime
You find this in all Greek cities. Stupid, easily bored youths destroying other peoples' properties with their so-called 'art' and acting like it is their right to do so. These are the same people who throw trash everywhere and ruin Greece's prestige. Same here in the UK.
Α ρε Τρίπολη! Ωραίες αναμνήσεις!
Perhaps this was on a public holiday or a Sunday or perhaps very early in the morning? Saw only a few people out.
It was both very early in the morning (around 7 a.m.) and also a Sunday.
i Tripoli exei peripou 40.000 katikous egegramenous me tin apografi tou 2011 episis epaizai o Asteras ekini tin mera.
You're right! It's Sunday! But it's not only Sunday, it's also 7 a.m.
I though Melbourne's graffiti was bad!!! We aren't alone! Tripoli, Greece has outdone our city!

Wen you paint for first time, it slowly becomes an addiction and for the enjoy? They put their name up so we can see it..
So sad...all the graffiti. Spray paint should be banned. No city pride. Poor Tripoli.
