Only thing I like digital on the dash is my speed. I like seeing the number, other than that I would get annoyed by the displays. Also on a side note I believe people who design trucking GPS applications have never actually had to use them. The work flow is terrible.
Yeah, you may be right. Maybe the next update to the digital dash will be having to swipe it left or swipe it right for different bits of information … 🤮
Same thing with new cars. Stupid sensors which beep at you with false readings and have to be turned of every time the car is started. It all looks good on paper but in the real world its a miserable failure.
Freight liner seats suck. They are hard, like sitting on a park bench. I wish Freightshaker drivers would stop using the high beams to flash drivers over. Use the interrupter button on the steering wheel ! That’s what it’s there for ! Opitidle. ?? I can’t stand being parked next to one. Can’t imagine trying to sleep in one. I used to pull reefer. Continuous run, I sleep like a baby. Start stop is like that damn optiidle . NOPE !
Yeah, Freightliner could stand to improve their seats but I’ve found the cloth seats far more comfortable than their leather seats. Those things are like sitting on a wooden bench, just like you said. Totally agree with you on the high beam flashing as well. It makes sense in daylight since it’s more visible and won’t blind anyone with a quick flash or two, but at night, it’s a terrible idea. Those brights totally blind people. As for the opti-idle, the whole start and stop thing isn’t much different from a diesel powered APU. Those things are loud as well and seem to stop and start just as often, if not even more often than a properly functioning opti-idle system. I frequently go the entire night without the truck engine starting. It usually only jumps in in the morning when the coffee maker starts up. In the end, I guess it all boils down to what you’re used to. I’m so used to the system that even if it does fire up the engine while I’m sleeping, it doesn’t bother me at all. The same is probably true for you when your APU starts and stops. You’re probably so used to the sounds and vibrations it makes that you tune it out.
@@redmesa2975 Interesting. That would make them far less annoying for sure. I’ve had two trucks with them and both stop/started, so my experience was different I guess.
I really don't like the thumb-toggle mouse thing. It is WAY too sensitive and most of the time, I have no idea what it's actually switching/ switched to, and then trying to figure it out becomes a distraction. I think that's a really stupid and poorly executed feature.
I agree about freightliner being One of the best if not be best Is, everything On the interior is designed by drivers in my belief, Freightliner definitely has it together on the interior, now the things that do not like or all the sensors on the left and right side of the truck, and the front as well, I always disconnect those cause I don't Work for free, we are the slaves programming the systems that will destroy us, they are recording all that information and They will utilize it for the Self driving trucks, And any company out there that gets the strip down version of this truck without the frigerator and the good seats in my opinion don't want to keeple of drivers,
Amazon Volvo semi : seriously detuned, highly sensitive mitigation radar, slowest acceleration mega- semi,in cab camera pointed directly at driver,Amazon driver point system 😭😞🤢🤮 trust me Freightliner and Schneider is much better brother 🚛
Oh man … that sounds like trucking dystopian hell. Couldn’t pay me enough to put up with that crap. I hope you find something better while you still have your sanity!
@@DirkTrucks thanks.. still trying to figure.. but the hourly wage if you can get above $30 you should be able to with semi that adds up very quickly you just have to put up with a little more stops(or even a switcher makes good money if you can put up with that type of job) that type of thing you know but I encourage others to do so too if I can because you know owner operating is bad all the way around now.. good to hear stay safe brother 🚛🤠

I agree on both points.
The 2024 schneider freightliners still have conventional gauges
Yeah. I can’t see SNI ever willingly switching to digital dashboards unless there’s not other choice.
Because the digital screen is geared for the younger generation who played and still plays video games. Not us old people.

@@DirkTrucks the only APU’s I’ve had, ran continuously when started.
