That was spooky. I did Cherno spawn and went in land, east to the castle, into Mista and cooked up a chicken in that double hunting lodge… small world 😂. On your way to the castle ruin your passed a feeder for cattle. I see very similar here in Highlands
I haven't played DayZ since the Arma2 days, but still enjoy the content. Your gameplay is unique and I enjoy watching your vids. Keep up the great work.
New player, just subscribed. Videos like this are very useful (big thankyou), not least by confirming some of the things I've worked out for myself over the first 50 hours of play. What I'm having a problem doing is successfully getting inland... there seems to be a cordon of better kitted-out players farming noobs on the way into the interior on every server - all KOS no questions asked. Obviously (or at least perhaps) I am going inland before I'm ready for it (and your advice on establishing better stocks of food I have taken onboard)... but I never seem to find any ammo for the weapons I find to be able to defend myself... I've had Blazes and Mosins but never any ammo for them... had pistols with ammo but never got to shoot them etc So, it seems to me that I need to establish a cache of some sorts close to the coast to build up my offensive capabilities before I do head into the interior... it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts on this.
Nice video again. And so relaxing. Good work. The castles are worth a look everytime. Sadly, on the server I play most, they were all blocked by gates and bases. I can't even take a look around at the towers. 😥 Once found a back entrance on one and there were a Tundra and a Blaze with a scope on it. But at 19. of april the whole map will be cleaned and it would be so much fun at the start.👍
Damn. I cant believe i watched the whole video without skipping or speeding up the playback speed. Your commentary is really great and relaxing but not boring at all. Is the bgm in-game or did you just add it? I usually don’t like bgm on instructional vids but I’m really loving it on this one.
I just started playing dayz again and this video was helpful, 'cos dont remember everything and the game have changed. The thing in forest opening you were thinkin is feeding stand for deers and elks. Well at least in finland they use something similar.
I always skim orchards and scoot by hay bales for mushrooms. Never cooked or had to cook an animal or fish yet. It’s easy to do too. I mean you are already out and about. Just keep your eyes open and you shall find.
Not enough long term sustenance unless you do that for hours. If you wanna eventually shift focus and do more than just forage fruits and mushrooms, you have to fish and hunt.
Roger that, but I also know I'm not on some kind of short time schedule (IRL). I have plenty of time on my hands and am playing a game of staying alive as long as possible. Finding food in the spawn town was vital to moving out of that spawn town. @@bwad99
I've been lucky with fruit most of the time. But I'm still a new player.. and tried cooking. But still doing things wrong? I was able to smoke certain things I had, but failed to put things on a stick to cook it over a fire!? It would let me start to set down to cook when promt. But would immediately get back up? Don't know why? This was using an inside cabin fire place and a fire built outside on the ground.
Not using a bag is personal preference but it's a pretty poor choice. The difference it makes in sound and visibility is minimal for the upside to more storage space.
If you know what you're doing, more storage space isn't always important imo. The game isn't necessarily about loot accumlation-- it's about surviving.
That first house after you crossed the railroad had a lot of scrap paper. Isn't that a sign of players have been there, in that room, or in that house ? In some of my earliest games I depended on fruit if I could find no other food. Find an orchard and jog along running a circle around each tree, gathering fruit as I went. Then repeat as each tree has been exposed to my presence and triggered to spawn fruit. Later, I would leave town with almost every space in my inventory full of fruit. I still died a lot but not from starvation if I could find fruit. I also learned that many of the roads between towns is lined with fruit trees. Since I was traveling they were not as productive but occasionally produced fruit for me. What's with the rusty orange (dead?) evergreen trees on the mountain side ? Some kind of blight killing the trees ? "I don't know what these are. What's the point of it." That is a feeder for livestock. The farmer takes the top off (or opens one or both sides of the rood), fills the inside if the "V" section with hay, replaces the roof and the cattle can eat without trampling the hay into the mud. Works great if you have only a few head. These days the big round bales are used to feed more livestock at one time. Farmer takes hay bail to the pasture with the livestock, takes off the plastic wrap on the outside then unrolls the bail. Lays a path of hay on the ground that could be 100 yards long. Cattle don't have to crowd around one spot. They all have a chance to get their full share.
I guess my question is.. how long does a cooked peice of chicken last you vs just eating an apple, peach or plum? All these smaller items that spawn everywhere. Vs taking the time to cook. Does it last you noticably a lot longer while traveling long distances..? EDIT: I know I know your video just answered that basically. But I'm still yet to experience it myself since I'm struggling to cook things.
I just started playing and only have like couple starts so far. But your videos with these starts seem really good compared to mine. Maybe that just comes with the experience but I can't find half that stuff in twice the time you spend.
A lot about that has to do with training your eyes to spot the loot and know almost instantly whether it is good loot or trash. You will notice a lot of pros just stick their head in a room, take one quick glance then move on. Do they miss stuff ? Yes they do, but not as much as a noob. I still walk around each room and examine each thing I find then make a decision whether to keep it or not. Takes me much longer to loot the same place as a pro.
I like to spawn fresh and loot, until I find someone's base that is semi kept up with then I'll drop most of my loot in their stuff lmao bc why not lol I find it more fun bc I know I won't be playing in the long run
Yes, I saw him. He used the fact that bwad was busy fighting zombies to move past them safely. He was moving left to right in the background of the fight.
14:26 The reason I hate base building. Not only is it sweaty and lame as fuck, also the entire map is littered with just left over fences everywhere. I don't know but it just really rubs me the wrong way. It takes away a part of the charm of the game. The whole point is that every life you risk everything. What's the point if you can just go back to your "base" and get stuff and continue. Each life should be it's own story.
First 3 minutes and a knife... I have played for around 25 hours several different spawns, some of which I have seen your videos on, and not once have I come across a knife of any type.
Ever wonder why fruit suddenly appears? While it maybe on a timer, as you say (very unlikely ) it spawns in when someone ( a player ) is in the vicinity of it's spawn point. Thus why people hang around fruit spawn locations. Try this run up to some hay bails check for shrooms, none there? wait around the area and shrooms will appear. If they were on a spawn timer they would of been there on first approach.
@@bwad99 I stand corrected you didn't say timer nor did you imply fruit respawned within the vicinity of the players. You said sit around trees and run back and forth waiting for the fruit to spawn, which can imply that fruit is on a timer. And Not fruit respawning due to proximity of players. This is important to clarify for new players. Also the condition of fruit is also important green is fresh, a newly spawned fruit, Dried or rotten is old fruit spawned in from other player's before you got there. Fruit has a 50% chance after spawning in fresh to either turn dried or rotten. I appreciate what you are doing by making Guides for Dayz yet I see time after time streamers try to do the right thing but come up short making these types of video's. You make remove this post ( after all its you're channel ) i leave it up to you.
@@RooBeeO dude let your ego go for once, holy shit. Him saying run under trees waiting for fruit to spawn doesn’t imply a timer any more than it can imply player vicinity. Want to know why? I will say flat out that fruit will spawn in shortly after a player has been in the proximity of a fruit tree. More than one UA-camr has said that in videos, and I used that information to stay fed. Do I know the game mechanics about spawning fruit ? No, I do not. But I can make fruit spawn in an orchard and not die of starvation.
