Same here.. did this to my little 02 Nissan Frontier truck and you're right, Better throttle response, even seems to idle smoother. I'm sold on seafoam!
Your video was the most descriptive of any! Good job!
Rather than cutting the straw, simply pull the straw (or reposition it) through the black plastic guide. This gives more slack to position the can in a comfortable position while spraying since it takes several minutes to empty its contents.
I just did this to my 97 Dodge ram 1500 and I too noticed a little better throttle response. I'm usually the guy that's like "no way, it's in ur head" about things like better throttle response but I really think that it's true in this case!! My truck is definitely running a little better. Very pleased with the seafoam in the intake. I also put it in the gas tank and the crank case! All around, pretty happy with it all!
How often do you put it in The Throttle body?
I did this twice when i was having exhaust restrictions that ended up causing misfires and this stuff works. You do have to floor it though to get enough pressure to clear it, going from dead stop to high rpms but it does get the job done. I had to do mine twice and now it runs just as good as my other suburban. If you are having misfires, mine was on culinder 8 and i swapped everything snd still had it and the thing was misfiring because of restriction. It only misfired when getting on it, when running gma style you would never know.
Just putting Seafoam in the Gas tank of my 2007 Chrysler Town & Country(3.3 V6 with 233K) it made a HUGE Difference! I'm set to this procedure next. She's a beast that keeps going,& She can use all the help, especially with our SWNY winters.
I just used this same stuff in My 95 Jeep YJ with 235000 miles on it. No more smoke came out except what was expected to 17 degrees F outside when I did this. I keep sea foam in my oil, I always do an engine flush before oil changes, I was thinking maybe since I do all of this normal maintenance there was nothing in there to clean out. Odd no smoke at all when I did this.
Word of advice .. disconnect catalytic converters if any way possible or they could be clogged from the junk that gets burned off. Happened to me on my dodge 3 days after seafoam
Accidentally got some overspray on my headlight, wiped it off and it looked much better, so I did the other.. So far so good, clear and bright lenses
Well after cleaning your headlights if you put turtle wax on it. It will stay cleaner longer
Jake Eastin , not a bad idea, might be a good protective coating to keep on them. The winter here is harsh on the old plastic headlights, that would help.
@@lilspikes81 it does help. I'll clean mine with toothpaste and after I'm done I put turtle wax on them
I oughtta try this
You animal.
I just did my 98 explorer with 181,000 miles and it actually works. Allot smoother and picked up about 2 mpg.
I was wondering why you thought that white exhaust smoke indicated that black carbon was being burnt off
Thanks for video & good luck.
The white smoke is the actual sea foam burning off not your engine deposits....alot of people think its your engine crap, but its not. they made it like that so people think its there car deposits so it seems like it doing a great burn off job. i am sure it helps a little. you would have to take the heads off and clean off the carbon deposits with wire brushes and solvents, its caked on your valves
Used this in '93 Toyota 22re engine which had poor idle in gear when warm and severe lack of power. Made an incredible difference. More power at all RPMs and smoother idle. Wish I used it years ago.
I do this in the winter time on my 2001 Land Rover Discovery. So when the police pull me over for excessive exhaust smoke I'll tell them it's because my engine is still cold.
From ur experience wich products is better than the other seafoam spray or the liquid seafoam?
Hey Thanks for the video.. I have 03 expedition and I tried the seafoam procedure and the straw would not stay in the bottle and the clamp connecting to the throttle body intake with the straw inserted inside just did not work the clamp would come off and this cause two codes to appear.. which I expected but I'm handy and have the necessary tools , cleared the code.. I got about 3/4 of the seafoam in the engine I did see white smoke after I let it sit for almost 20 min.... Is there another way of getting this seafoam in the engine, Can I just spray the foam into the engine via throttle body with engine off? will this bog down the engine?
I can put seafoam in my car before and there was like a little bit of white smoke like hardly none does that mean like the motors clean cuz I let it soak for 15 minutes and everything I did everything but I use like the treatment not this stuff so is that normal tube or is that just because like the motors good and it's not like all kicked up with crap
"Spirited acceleration" is what is required 🤣 (we all know that translates to drive fast). Thanks for sharing. On it.
Should I change the oil again after putting seafoam in the throttle body and gas tank if I just changed the oil before I used it I didn't put it in the crank case just gas tank and throttle body let me know thanks
Just wanted to check up on the long term effect this spray product might have had on your engine? Is there still a consensus that this product is safe to use and are the results worth it?
Sea foam is highly refined petroleum, ain’t gonna do a thing to your engine.
Does this clean the top of the pistons
Hey Jimmy, I have check engine due to P0430 , does doing this will clean this code for cat efficiency? Thanks
Awesome stuff man keep it up!!!
Is it more cleaner if you use two can... What did you think 🤔🤔 awesome video👌👌👌
I did this today in my 06 Tacoma with 314k miles. Only for like 15sec heavy smoke came out. Then total of 30sec of smoke and after no smoke. I was hoping to see lots of smoke. Did I do something wrong? I did spray for like 5 min til can was empty. Put a brick on the gas pedal and stayed at 2k rpm. After spray can was empty I let it sit or soak for 15 mins with engine off. But before all that I had clean the throttle body. Also I had added seafoam in the crank case a week before. Was getting ready for an oil change. During those 15 minutes of waiting to soak. I replaced the pvc valve and torqued at 14ft lbs and replaced the throttle body gasket and torqued at 9ft lbs. After soaking and starting engine it’s when I noticed the 30sec of smoke. I still had the truck running for 10 mins while at 2k rpm. Then did the oil change. Drove for work but it was 20 miles round trip. Should repeat the step with spray engine treatment?
Would you use fuel cleaner before or after an oil change????? Plzzz HELP ME ANSWERR THIS QUESTION
I put Seafome on my gas tank and it only smoked a lil bit and it stopped maybe cause my engine wasnt warm but i was revving it and let it sit about 15min ran it aggressively and only a lil bit came out nothing big idk if it was a waste or is seafome still working i did it yesterday
By that being a drive by wire engine I think u had to press pedal to open throttle a little. ...nice video by the way
+Mc da shiznit you are correct. I had my wife in the cab.
Thanks for this video. It worked on my 2009 CTS, some of the spray ended up in the driveway. Since my intake points downward. Thanks again
What changes did you notice after the treatment?
It's great stuff. Do not however ever use any top end cleaners on a turbo charged engine of any type. The only way to clean valves and intakes is to remove and mechanically clean.
Can i use this on my nissan maxima 2014 65k miles
Do you need to change the oil shortly after just like if you were to pour sea foam in the crankcase?
100-300 miles after
Totally worked for my 1993 Dodge 250 pickup.
Will this clean my valves valve springs and pushrods as well? Also how long will it white smoke like that. Thinking of doing this to my 06 sierra 4.8 with 281000 miles
Nice demo - no monolog!
Hey Jimmy. I like you video. Very helpful and well done. My question to you is what's the procedure when using the seafoam to clean the fuel line (after putting it in the gas tank)?
Normal driving. Thats it.
Hi. Can this be good to clean a catalyst also?
Your not wrong on the pickup 💯 noticed that for myself as well
Is this method will work on DIESEL ENGINES?
Is it safe to use it in diesel air intake?
Does the spray work on Diesel? The bottle says to not use it on diesel
I used seafoam in my 95 chevy silverado and didn't get any white smoke, but it runs fine still, don't know if it did anything.
Priority clean
Do I need to change my oil after this? I'm not using the oil treatment, just the intake cleaner and fuel treatment.
No you don't, but depending on when the last time you did an oil change on your vehicle it wouldn't hurt
ABSOLUTELY Magnificent
I didn’t get any white smoke on my 2006 f150 5.4
Could this possibly hydrolock your motor?
Would this be ok for a 01 expedition?
Should be OK.
Keep up the good work I'll have to give this a try.
Honestly I'm not sure why he did this it looks pretty clean as it is
He's being pro-active in keeping it clean. Don't wait until it gets dirty, too late then.
Its to clean further inside where carbon can buildup
@@fixedgearforlife amen to that. I’m about to do the full seafoam treatment on my pickup with 306,500 miles. Now I did only start driving when it had 270k but I know better ;(
Officer: "You kno what I pulled you over for son?"
Me: "I was driving fast and aggressively?! But the Sea Foam can said I have too!"
@68Camaro RS/SS its still a great comment
Copy paste from Chris fix video
Is English your second language?
Experience With Me why u copy paste the same comment I guess you living up to your name son????
Honest to GOD this stuff really works! It is an amazing product. I felt and heard a huge difference in my engine.
have you seen the intake valves and the cylinder afterwards?
@@gordonlam2757 no I haven't. I know with the exhaust gas recirculation it puts a lot of nasty build up on the intake. It probably cleans a lot of that and breathes better
@@tanman7879 i was watching project farm and he does alot of theses product tests but using a lawn mower engine and it didn't look clean, yeah albeit tons of white smoke but it was that clean.
@@gordonlam2757 yeah I like his videos but a car engine is a lot different than a lawn mower engine obviously. With all of the emissions restrictions and all I think that would make a difference on the results of cleaning.
Use a second bottle until the smoke no longer comes out white. Or you are leaving all that shit in the system. Works wonders. Costs a bit more and neighbours call the cops on some occasions
I would like to know how many miles we’re on your truck
How should I do it to my naturally aspirated diesel?
Not recommended for adding through intake of diesels, acts as additional fuel and can cause engine overspending. Add it to fuel. Fill new fuel filter w/seafoam.
So does it work or just make you feel better??
Alex Kunze it works bro I did my first run thru I buried my car in a cloud of smoke filled my yard with snoke, instantly had more power you can just hear the way she revs as you're spraying it, then you hear it when you rev it up to blow the smoke out, then you drive and you'll feel it. Have a 09 crown Vic police interceptor with almost 250k miles runs better and more power than it did when I got it at 100k miles
Deff better throttle response on my integra
The_guy_that_brake_checks_ Jerkoffs Chris fix right
Can do it on Nissan leaf?
I did this to my 05 chevy tahoe and it actually works.
Good stuff!
On a Honda afterwards disconnect battery for 20min so you can clear your engine codes to get car out of limp mode.
It may work, but I just add what mfr recommends, oil etc..
just had to do this on a direct injetion mini cooper. pleeeeeeeeeeeasssee work lol
Super clean huh? Someone has been watching ChrisFix a lil huh?
hello is it recommended to do this after or before a oil change?
Abraham Valencia saw in another vid to get a oil change after treatment
Do it a couple hundred miles before an oil change, roughly 2-300
Wanna see how it works on my car..but actually it's not available in Korea
I’ll send you some
Artificial thumbnail, LMAO!
Look again
i use this same method to wreck my catalitic converter
Despite any silly directions- for future reference- next time you do this- please follow this method: After warming the engine- remove the fuel pump fuse. Do not cut the straw. Open the throttle, and push the tube in, then release the throttle. The tube will slightly hold the throttle open- perfectly enough, and no need for assistance. Spray while starting the engine, and continue spraying until the can is empty, running the engine on the contents of the can. Do not depress the throttle. Also- hold the can UPRIGHT while spraying, not at an angle. Let the engine sit overnight, 8-10 hours minimum. Replace removed fuse. Immediately drive vehicle at least 20 minutes to clear. Works every time.
I do this also on my LR Discovery. I remover the fuel pump relay (R1) and like you said run the engine off of the Seafoam and then let it sit over night to soak in.
Thanks, JUKE179r. Yes- this is the most effective method.
Why the fuel pump fuse? Any info would appreciated,
Thanks
Easiest way to prevent the fuel pump from running. Follow the directions I gave. The goal- is to make the engine run exclusively on the contents of the can (propellant and cleaner) and not gasoline.
Spraying the can=engine running.

when you say spray while starting the engine, does that mean turn the engine off after its warm?
And then the neighbors call the fire department
+Bad Drivers of North Texas haha! Seriously!
Can you use this on cars from the 70’s? Does it need to be fuel injection?
white smoke is usually oil residue not carbon ! .. you want to see black smoke out tail !
Funny... That's exactly what happened when my brother did his Monte Carlo... The fire dept. was called! 👍😂😉
Steve Silvas lol
15 mins to soak in the engine ?
Most say minimum 2 hours and optimum is overnight.
Burned my O2 sensors last time I did this in my F150. Snake oil...
Officer: Do you kno...
Guy: THE CAN SAYS DRIVE AGRESSIVELY! *shoves can in cops face
Officer: well, you better follow the instructions sir or I'll have to write you up.
Guy: *Floors it
Officer: *pulls him over again.. Thanks for making the ticket bigger! : D
Need a bit of help....followed your directions to the max...let it sit for the full 15 minutes...almost...then started my truck back up....when I accelorated i finally got some heavy smoke coming out,...but it stopped and my truck seems like its sputtering and choking...if I try and drive it dies one me. I can immediately restart without any trouble but it still remains sputtering and choking. This has gone on for 20 minutes. NOW WHAT?????
you get that fixed?
I think it's probably debatable how much cleaning that seafoam is doing on its quick trip through the engine. Without agitation (scrubbing) even less cleaning is getting done. It's like running hot water over your dishes and calling them clean. Do i do this myself, yeah i do - but never do i expect miracles. Probably do more good cleaning off the throttle body then just spraying some into the hole and running the engine.
I did this and now my car bogs down on acceleration. Any ideas?
Looks like your mass airflow sensor is past the throttle body, which means the sea foam is getting to the mass sensor, sea foam says not to do this, are you having any issues?
The maf is before the throttle body. On the intake tube. He sprayed it directly into the intake manifold.
The MAF is at the air filter.
Port injection engine do not need to be clean.
My check engine light is on now?
Run a scan, it could be one of the oxygen sensors. My guess would be the downstream sensor. The carbon burned off could have collected elsewhere by not driving aggressive enough.
CRC intake & Valve Cleaner is a MUCH BETTER CLEANER !!
This works okay best way to clean engine and all upper intake is to pull brake booster vacume line and shove it in can and it will suck it empty let it set then drive it kill every bug in your town and then good to go
BG air/Fuel Induction service does alot better than Seafoam
I wanna vape clouds that big one day lol
You must drive a subaru
No smoke came out of mines ?
Reem M same
You can make your own, there is nothing in this stuff that you can't get at your local haedware store.
Drive an early 1970s vehicle & not give a damn about nonexistent catalytic converter or whatever fancy schmancy sensors ;)
errrrr..your engine is port fuel injected and not direct injected.
You do know there will be very little carbon buildup on your engine
Removing that much carbon at one time can have devastating effects on your engine. O2 sensors can get damaged and go bad. Gunk can build up in other places. So many people are just satisfied with the end result white smoke. So they swear by Seafoam. But for those of us that are smart, we avoid this stuff. Regular fuel additives may not remove as much carbon as Seafoam does in one treatment but thats the point. You want this to be done slowly and gradually over time. Preventative maintenance.
Bullshit it didn't work for me another sales gimmick
Look up the definition of motor and engine. Then I hope you are smart enough to figure it out.
Use BG products way better then seafoam. This is the worst cleaning process I have seen. Go to a real mechanic and have them do the three step process with BG products.
lol Not all "real" mechanics are legit. When I went for my tune up I told the mechanic what the other shop I got a quote for was going to do additionally to the tune up A up charge of $60 for the "intake cleaner" where they'd spray it through the throttle body at 2,000rpm. He rolled his eyes laughed and said.. oh you mean they'd Seafoam it, cause that's the same process and you can buy a can from Amazon for $20 and do it at home. So by your standards my "unreal" mechanic saved me from the BS of that "real" one
that pick up and response is just placebo effect .. Yawns... If you want a bit more pick up just turn on TOW mode
Wrong
Too many little tiny bullshit details just do the job
you sound like a real man...probably born in the 90s. maybe your mom will do it for you?
😅😅😅😅😅 liar.
Sterling Witherspoon 😂😂😂 u think
post the whole video you stated you screwed up and sprayed the engine....thumbs down.
More pollution for our atmosphere way to 🚶go
Yes because everything in the zero emissions camp is truly "carbon neutral" The buy our car and we'll plant a tree scam is nothing but that... trying to erase the carbon you made by building a car by planting a tree isn't "saving the environment"
Stop calling it a car it is a fucking truck do you know the difference
Do you know the difference between a car and a truck seriously dude think before you open your mouth
Good stuff
