- When we first introduced him to Keyscape, prolific Australian singer-songwriter Rai Thistlethwayte (Sun Rai, Thirsty Merc) truly made the instrument his own as he took us on a tour of his eclectic catalog - this was one of our favorite moments! Here, Rai soulfully performs his beautiful original, "Always Dreamed of You" with the LA Custom C7. Enjoy!

This is a once in a lifetime artist that has sensitivity, funk, technical wizardry, jazz under his hands , pop, rock…. You name it. Very rare and awe inspiring to listen to. A very blessed man.
What an unbelievable artist Rai is. Songwriting, singing, keyboards, beatboxing. Everyone knows how funky he is, but he's also deeply deeply human. As beautifully showcased here. Thanks so much for posting.

I didn't realize it, but I was holding my breath for the entire song, and I just started breathing again at the end.
I am finding myself coming back to this song and this video at least once a month. There is so much love and passion in that performance. Still my favorite clip from the sessions. Definitely big tears material.

The first time, I did not listen very carefully, and suddenly, something at 3:29 broke through into my subconscious as something important, a passage to another dimension. I later returned to those few seconds many times...

Rai is an insanely versatile musician and such a nice guy. The piano sound is absolutely amazing!
Rai Thistlethwayte has been my fave “new” keyboard player for a few years now, and while his left hand bass independence has probably impressed me the most over all… he’s just all around great… yet I’ve never heard him play or sing a ballad until just now. I see he’s playing the “LA Custom C7 - Cinematic” patch from Keyscape (my fave)… but if I didn’t know any of this and hadn't heard Rai before, I’d still be blown away by this performance.

Loving this, I feel greatful that many many years ago I got to experience Rai and Merc at possibly their first Brisbane show in a small venue not much bigger than my lounge room in the Valley, Rai showed off with a massive keyboard solo that had everyone standing on every seat/table they can to get a better view, I was sold and went to any show thereafter

I feel like Rai is too damn talented to ever gain mainstream fame. He's an incredible keyboardist, songwriter, and performer. He is a truly amazing talent, but his UA-cam channel has about 8k subscribers. But hey. Thanks for uploading, this is a beautiful performance of a beautiful song. Thirsty Merc had many top 100 and at least one top 10 songs, as well as an album that went platinum, in Australia. Was very much mainstream in Australia for a period of several years.

this is the sound of an old noble instrument, perhaps standing in a small room, and this instrument was always ready to fill this room with beautiful, aristocratic sounds, it was always waiting for understanding hands!, perhaps the fate of this instrument is sad, but these sounds found ray's hands, and this is beautiful.

Heck, I'd even buy the whole thing if only I could download and install parts of it.
Not everyone can afford to buy plugins AND a new SSD everytime they install a piano.
Thx for the feedback. Did you know that you can install a lite version that’s much smaller footprint? (so the new SSD requirement is not an issue) Keyscape will never be broken up for separate sales though...the sounds interact with each other in important ways and with Omnisphere. And yes....it’s going to grow and grow into the future! But the lite install will always be included. :-)
