    I kinda have a love-hate relationship with ISFJs and I have plenty of them in my life. They are the most caring, kind hearted people and the biggest overcontrolling, bossy pains in the ass at the same time. And the funny thing is, as a probably-INTJ I get their need for control but it's the exact opposite kind, Si-Fe against my Ni-Te, which is very frustrating, but actually really helps me see what it looks like when an IxxJ goes crazy and be more aware my own tendency of doing it.

Ne and Ti are good functions I started to respect more in myself, because I'm always searching for new angles to work in, which can help me skip Si steps often.
      Both have values, upsides and downsides. As all the functions do, even Fi users have a passion I wish I had, but I mainly push with intense curiosity. That is my ambition, high lever curiosity. However, when it comes to Si details, I'm like.. "Nah, that's not important." My focus levels are rather low, so I'm constantly coming up with unfinished ideas.

    • @alienturtle1946

      I feel like reducing the problems to steps is actually T. Si is more like organizing your own observations, which could include steps that you're taught via book or other form from someone else's T. Unless you're Si/Tx, then you might be doing that stuff on your own. Obviously Si/Fx types have T too, but they may or may not be good at the actual reduction part depending on how strong their T is.
      As Ti/Ne, breaking ish down is easy....sticking to those steps is an entirely different matter XD

    • @hannas.2507

      @@HazelGrey. I guess most people typed as INFPs are gifted in many areas.
      For me nursing school was great to have a profession, "to have a degree in my pocket".
      I loved working with many different people and working in a team and the interesting stories happening every day... I just loved doing the stuff, like bandaging, infusion therapies and so on.
      Challenging for me were the little details, not to forget anything in the documentation and working according to the specific regulations of each hospital or ward. Also staying concentrated when preparing medication for the whole ward during night shift (that was the case in only one hospital)- that took me long because I checked it over and over again. I think things like these are coming more natural to an ISFJ. They register more things about the patients and what's going on in general without giving special attention to it.
      This video was also an eye opener to me why I struggled in these areas.

    • @HazelGrey.
      @HazelGrey. 4 роки тому

      Hanna S. So nursing was your practical choice. Are you exploring other fields now? Are you unsatisfied because of the monotony? Or it just doesn’t feel natural for you like you have to force yourself to work a certain way? Did you make a mistake with the medication? What pushed you from continuing nursing and so what do you do now without your nursing degree?
      Sorry for asking so many question, it’s just nursing is not my plan A and so i wanna make sure it’s a good plan that i will love for long.

    • @hannas.2507
      @hannas.2507 4 роки тому +1

      @@HazelGrey. Interesting questions. First of all I quit working at the hospital for some sort of sabbatical I did together with my husband. We wanted to find out what's next for us as a couple. Then for several awesome years we worked together for a Christian ministry. Right now I am fulltime mom 😁- now that the kids are small I cannot handle much more than giving them the best of me.😅
      The routine at the hospital was never to monotonous or boring for me, it was just rather challenging for me to follow every step without being distracted (because patients for example ask questions all the time and by answering as good as I can I got distracted from other tasks that I was supposed to do. Multitasking? Hardly. Ever.).
      Thank God, and the team, there was never a serious medication mistake, because an other nurse always checks the medication (mostly during the next shift) before handing it to the patients.
      If I could give you an advice I would say find out what you are made for... ask God... find out your dreams... Nursing School might be a step on the way. If it has nothing to do with any goal in your life I would wonder why you should take this step.
      I learned a lot for life during these years, too. I got more mature, as well. But I would say these things might not be motivation enough. You need a goal. And the goal is not earning loads of money 😂 sorry to disappoint... 😅
      Blessings on your journey 💐

    • @HazelGrey.
      @HazelGrey. 4 роки тому +1

      Hanna S. It doesn’t seem like you stopped because it was unbearable or unfulfilling or something. So that’s good to hear.
      As for the goal, nursing fits very well for me. It’s the middle ground between my passion and job opportunity. Stable yet still flexible, in terms of location, time, and specialties. It’s the best thing about it, because then i can explore more. Not having to tie down my life to what my job needs because it has various options to cater to what i want. Nursing also check the box of my priority for faster financial independence with less schooling, compared to psychology (plan A).
      Anyways, thank you for the insight 😊
      I think nursing is the best decision to make in my case, i’m going to make it happen no matter how long or complicated (covid puts me in a pickle).
      Best wishes for you and your family 🙏🏼

What amazes me is how people can do algebra without having any clue what the numbers and letters actualy represent. When i try to visualise the Si process in my head as an INTJ all i see is 2nothing (2a) X 2nothing (2a) + 2nothing X nothing = nothing X nothing. With that said, I’ve often been surprised by the depth of ISFJ/ESFJs. Their EQ can be surprisingly sensitive to morale. In a professional setting, it’s an amazing tool that they use to bring people together and accomplish technical efforts. In that sense, they have my respect as they’re able to effectively and genuinely mobilize people towards reaching goals. That to me is a unique type of depth. Now, have I had a thought provoking discussion with an ISFJ/ESFJ colleague on existential dread or on Alan Watts? No, LOL. I wouldn’t expect they’d want to explore those types of things with me.

      As a fellow INFP, I would say if you have any artistic dreams that you want to pursue, go for it. That’s where I’m heading, trying to become an author who writes fantasy books. The hard part is trying to figure out what career I can pursue in order to financially keep me stable and to support my writing, but nothing is going to become more important for me than to tell the story that I always wanted to tell. I think in general that is what Fi & Ne is “responsible” for, showcasing Ne ideas that we Fi like and making art out of it.

      I believe I am a INFP (french male). First I was an hotel receptionnist for a decade, because why not ... anyway I loved to help clients get what they need, because I guess they liked me more that way. But the job was VERY stressful and even if I was damn good at improvising, and calming down with mad customers, I sucked too much at paperworks and overall it wasn't worth it. Now I'm an elder person caretaker (I go to their home and do whatever needs to be done) and it makes me feel good because I find myself useful. Sometimes I need to do gross stuff but no worries, I just split my mind ... Si kinda automatically cleans the mess, while Ne figures out how Rihanna could end the hunger in the world and why she didn't do anything about it ;) Anyway, I believe INFP's best quality is to be confortable around everyone's weakness/darkness because they're accustomed their own. With that in mind, some INFP becomes artists, others become priest, nurse or psychotherapist. All it matters is : we are prepared to face the worst in humanity, and still see beauty in the world.

    I work in automotive engineering as a Technician and while I LOVE fabricating, testing engines, power train components and working in a very structured lab environment, I find it extremely stressful being around the more typical “car people”. The majority of them are very rough around the edges, crude, aggressive and attention seeking(ie drive loud look at me cars and trucks). It’s a struggle for me most days having misalignment between my interests and my temperament.

    Honestly typing reminds me of games, specifically, D&D. In D&D you have a set of attributes [Functions]. When making a character you have a limited number of points to distribute across the attributes.
    D&Ds attribute system is Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma.
    So you distribute your points and you notice your level 1 character (basically a new born) has more points in some things. They’re strong and wise but have a crappy dexterity or lack charisma. It doesn’t mean you can’t be agile at all or appealing to anyone. It just means youre less likely to be successful, graceful or it will take more effort in endeavors that involve those attributes (unless you invest in them as you level up). All of Life is just a game...

      Whaaaat?! LOL I never heard a result like that from 16! I still think that you might a infj or at least you are definitely a IxxJ because both Frank James and Nathan from Love Who both tested on 16 and they were tested as ISTJ even though they identify themselves as INFJs.
      I have theory that the animals, Judging functions: ExxJ,IxxJ and perceiving functions: Ixxp, and Exxp are the actually only objective part of our personality meaning that it is the only thing we can both agree on and see in reality while the observer functions are entirely subjective. A person observing you might assume your are Isxj but how you perceive and identify yourself is actually an Inxj just like Frank and Nathan perceive themselves.
      That test label me as intp but now I am wondering if I am actually a istp/isfp?

She has no idea about getting lost in the vast spectrum of "what if's" in my mind! She worked in day care for young infants to kindergartners. Before then, she was a child in the 1960's and taking care of her younger siblings and whoever was outside in the neighborhood! She was "in charge" of all of them! I think ISFJs are sometimes just the "Babysitter of the Neighborhood"! She was even called "Little Mama" by a neighbor!😆 Nursing/taking care of people is a wonderful attitude to have in all professions! Worker care and work/life balance are important across the board!🥰🥰

      Do not allow type to dictate what you do. What you want to do is what you should do. If you aren’t sure, try different roles, think about them and see if you notice a pattern in the tasks you enjoy

    I respectfully disagree with this. Fe actually DOES take negative emotions very personally. They feel like it's a reflection on them and then they can't help from firing back and making things escalate. Te is the function that ignores drama and says ''Cry and scream all you want, it won't fix the problem'' Dr. Phil, much?

      I feel like what's happening in these videos in a subtextual way is sort of the culture of sides that people make and don't talk about between Fe and Te.
      It's very easy to not look deeply enough into a function that you don't champion to really understand it, and in that process to desecrate it. Maybe they should get people on that have Fe to talk about Fe. This particular video really seems to be trying to give Fe users 'a deal' so that they see a good thing and accept being inferior people whos feelings don't matter because they "just don't take things personally".
      This is a dangerous area that everyone gets into with typology. You should respect everyone, and there are basic, fundamental things that anyone should do for any other person that should not be removed or neglected.

      I agree with your point. However, I do believe that Dave and Shan was likely referring to the objective nature of the "extraverted decision functions"(De). Types that have Fe takes their "reasons or thinking" personally because Ti is their subjective decider function. Fe-dom's will feel particularly bad if they failed to make others happy (Fe) due to a mistake or lack of skill on their part (Ti).
      In summation, they feel "responsible" about the values of others but take their thinking, reasons, and skills "personally".

      Yes, but they don't avoid those negative emotions like people with inferior feeling, and they feel like they're responsible to change that. That's the point. In terms of how they do that... A story for another day. It can be by firing back and escalate things, but that depends on the Fe user.

      Did you completely miss the point where they said "this the stereotypical MBTI bs definition". But overall Fe are better than others at taking negative emotions personally. Compared to Fi FUCK and Yes Fe do.

    Unfortunately, most people don't tell ISFJs they appreciate them. Their Fi critic always self-deprecate and think they don't deserve anything. Their Te trickster isn't aware of the gratitude that you don't communicate. And at the back of the mind, baby Ne is always afraid you don't actually want them around.
    If you don't thank your ISFJs, they will assume you don't appreciate them. They will feel their presence around you is unnecessary. You will probably never find out how much you hurt them until one day they leave you. If you aren't introspective at all, you probably wouldn't find out even after they left you, and you'll blame them instead.

    I think I might be at breaking point with wild Fe. I mean I get it. It's normal, but I don't want be to someone fucking emotion punching bag anymore every time when shit goes sideways. I swear to god I will cut them down to size and make them feel so fucking stupid in their tiny screaming baby ti and make them deal with it on their own.
    In their head, they probably really do want a Ti authority so that they can hand over all of their problems but in reality they just looking for someone to blame for all their problems and are always fighting against the person that has the Ti authority. Is this their demon oi that's causing this?
